Hello Fabulous Birthday Card

Hello Fabulous Birthday Card - a Birthday Card with a girl wearing a fedora
Hello Fabulous Birthday Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing my Hello Fabulous Birthday Card using Fedora By Krista Smith Stamps. I was commissioned to create a custom birthday card for a friend’s daughter.

The Details of My Hello Fabulous Birthday Card

My friend mentioned a few things to help guide me in my design such as her daughter’s favourite colour is purple and that she is into fashion. So, for my card, I went through my Krista Smith Stamps and Fedora was the one that was chosen by my friend! I knew Krista would have a stamp that would suit the daughter’s style perfectly!

So, I coloured the stamp with my Copic markers in purples and blacks to suit the daughter’s taste. I added a pop of colour with the green feather on the fedora. Next, I added some Clear Star Gelly Roll Pen to the feather and smooshed it with my finger before it dried to give the feather a soft shimmer. Gold Gelly Roll Pen was used on her earring to add some sparkle and White Gelly Roll Pen was dotted on her bottom lip to indicate the shine of lip gloss.

The Design Aspects of My Card

Once she was coloured, I discovered that the Best Dressed DSP was perfect for my colours and theme. I used the shoes DSP on one layer, the perfume DSP on the next layer and the handbags DSP within the frame. The DSP even had purple roses to match my single purple flower embellishment.

Next, I knew that I wanted to add a frame around her, and I thought the Oval Coronet Dies by Spellbinders was very elegant. I thought it would be fun having her popping out of the white frame with the handbags behind her.

For my sentiment cluster, I stamped the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss and die cut it out. I added a Blackberry Bliss scallop edge to the bottom of the sentiment. Then, I added a green feather to mirror the feather in her fedora and a purple rose. Finally, I fussy cut a perfume bottle from the DSP and tucked it behind the sentiment.

To add some texture and interest, I added some black netting that I bought at a local fabric store. I thought it really added to the fashion theme of my card!

Finally, the finishing touch was a scattering of rhinestones for some sparkle, especially since you need sparkle on a birthday card!

O Christmas Tree Card

O Christmas Tree Card - A Christmas card with a tree on it.
O Christmas Tree Card

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing my O Christmas Tree Card using the Decorative Trees Bundle and the Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper by Stampin’ Up! Did you know that with each purchase of the Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper, Stampin’ Up! will donate $4 to support children’s literacy around the world. We hope you’ll join us in making a difference this holiday season.

The Details of My O Christmas Tree Card

My card was for a swap with other demonstrators, and I loved the tree dies that come with the Decorative Trees Bundle! They are all different intricate tree shapes. So many possibilities!

For my card, I decided to create it with similar colours all with the Christmas Tree theme. So, I went with Lost Lagoon, Shaded Spruce and Pretty Peacock that I pulled out from my DSP.

The first thing I did was emboss the Basic White mat with the Painted Trees 3D Embossing Folder. I love the detail of this folder! Then, I die cut a stitched circle of DSP from the largest circle dies in the Stylish Shapes Dies. Next, I die cut the plaid tree from Shaded Spruce.

For the sentiment, I pulled out the Christmas Labels Dies and discovered that “O Christmas Tree” fitted perfectly in the rectangle die! The sentiment was stamped in Shaded Spruce and then die cut out.

As a finishing touch to my card, I added some Pretty Peacock sequins that matched the DSP colours and a scattering of White Loose Snowflakes.

My Pumpkin Patch Card

My Pumpkin Patch Card - a Fall card with a gnome holding a pumpkin
My Pumpkin Patch Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Pumpkin Patch Card as my Design Team Card for Conie Fong Art & Design using the cute Pumpkin Gnome.

He comes with 6 images including the sentiment Sending Pumpkin Wishes:

  • Pumpkin Gnome facing right PNG/JPG
  • Sentiment Sending Pumpkin Wishes PNG/JPG

Details of My Pumpkin Patch Card

For my card, I coloured with my Copic Markers my sweet Gnome in Autumnal colours to match the DSP. This DSP is perfect with those fall colours. I decided to go with a scene with the beautiful trees in all their colourful splendor! I even added some die cut leaves to match the colours in the DSP.

For my gnome, I added a die cut circle as a backdrop for him. Next, I added the stamped sentiment on a flag. I added another flag behind the die cut word “pumpkin” to make the word stand out. I thought it a fun touch to add “pumpkin” since he was picking out a pumpkin and would pick it “over and over again” just like the sentiment said!

The finishing touch was a couple of enamel dots that matched my colour scheme.
