Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here sharing my Toys for Tiny Tots Card for the Design Team of Paper Nest Dolls. I used the super cute Ellie in a Box from the New December Release.
It was so much fun colouring Ellie and her pop up box with my Copic markers! I decided to create Elie popping out of a jumble of toys waiting to be distributed by Santa to all the good little boys and girls for Christmas. I thought that the toys dies were perfect for my card even though the set was intended for a baby. They were one of the very first die sets that I bought over eight years ago! So, I can’t find the company that made them, but there are a lot more current dies that would work just as well. After cutting them out, I embossed and sponged ink on them while they were still in the dies to give added dimension on the raised areas.
Don’t you think that the Floral Oval die that Ellie is layered on looks like peppermint swirls on each side. The Designer Series Paper was from my stash as well, but I thought that the toys and ornaments went well with my theme and make Ellie pop from the background. Don’t you just love the fiber that is behind the focal point! It looks like something that you would use on a Christmas tree with it gold accents which tie in with the gold star and trim on Ellie’s clothes. A couple of Red and Crushed Curry rhinestones add a bit more sparkle.
