Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Mermazing Day Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Conie Fong Art & Design using the Rosealea Mermaid And Sentiment Bundle. This listing includes a total of 12 images in JPG and PNG format:

The Details of My Mermazing Day Card

For my card, I decided to go out of my comfort zone and colour with my Copic markers Rosealea in oranges. I don’t usually use orange in my colouring. But since there was a lot going on in the background, I thought it would make her pop from my shaker card and match the orange fish in the background DSP.

The Waves Die by Spellbinders was a new purchase, and it went perfectly with my mermaid theme! Since the die took up the whole card front with lots of peek through holes, I decided to create a shaker card.

To create my focal point, I added behind Rosealea gold foil coral and some vellum seaweed. Rosealea and the seaweed helped lead your eye up to the sentiment.

Next, I adhered a scattering of gold shell sequins from the Sea Sequins to the front of my card, along with some blue sequins from the Stardust Sequins to tie in my colour scheme.

Finally, to add some sparkle, I used Clear Wink of Stella on her tail and Glossy Accents on the pearls in her hair.

My Shellabrate Birthday Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! One final mermaid card for MerMay from me! I am sharing My Shellabrate Birthday Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls using Mermaid Ellie with Seahorse.

The Details of My Shellabrate Birthday Card

For my card, I decided to use the Mermaid Tales Collection Kit by Echo Park since it was perfect for my Mermaid theme! The Kit came with paper and stickers. So, I used the “Sparkle & Shine” sticker as well as the paper on my card. The Shellabrate flag was from the Mermaid Dreams Frames & Tags also by Echo Park.

Once I picked my papers, I used the colours from it to colour Ellie with my Copic markers. I used Clear Wink of Stella on her tail and on the fins of the seahorse to add some sparkle just like the sticker said!

Next, I added an angel fish die cut to match the fish in the paper, as well as a shell and seaweed beside the sticker to help ground her.

Finally, for embellishments, I added three dew drops that look like air bubbles to mirror the air bubble paper. I also added a black rhinestone for the fish’s eye.

My Welcome MerMay Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Welcome MerMay Card using Rosealea Mermaid And Sentiment Bundle by Conie Fong Art & Design as my Design Team Inspiration Card. Every May is MerMay in the card making industry and Conie Fong didn’t disappoint with this new release! Welcome to MerMay!

The Details of My Welcome MerMay Card

For my card, I decided to create a mini slimline card with an underwater scene for this cutie. The Mermaid Tales paper had a scene that was perfect for my background! Behind that I added paper with blue/green mermaid scales with golden accents and gold foil borders.

But first, I coloured my mermaid with my Copic markers in watery blue/green colours to match my scene. I had a lot of fun colouring the tail so that it shimmers between the blues to the greens! To add more shimmer, I used Clear Wink of Stella on her tail and Clear Star Gelly Roll Pen on her starfish in her hair.

Next, I die cut the sandy bottom with the Slimline Stitched Hillside Border and used the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder to give it some texture. Once that was done, I brushed Crumb Cake ink along the edges for even more texture.

To create a backdrop for her, I die cut a Basic White shell on which I brushed Crumb Cake to bring out the detail. Behind that, I added a gold fold die cut coral to tie in my golden accents.

The sentiment flag was from the Mermaid Dreams Frames & Tags and was perfect for my card! I layered beneath it another die cut flag with gold shells on it. Even more gold accents! Lol! All these golden accents really added a beautiful sparkle to the card!

The finishing touch was a scattering of dew drops which I thought looked like air bubbles.

My MerMay Card

A card with three mermaids on it — My MerMay Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My MerMay Card using the Mermaid Set by Paper Nest Dolls for my Design Team Inspiration Card. This Set comes with 12 digital stamps, and I use 3 of them on my card.

The Details of My Card

For my card, I decided to create an underwater scene using the Under the Sea Slimline Designer Paper by Whimsy. Once I decided which sheet of paper to use, I coloured my mermaids with my Copic markers in different colours to match my paper,

I die cut the Whimsy Bubbles in a lighter blue designer paper to make them stand out from the background and highlight my mermaids. Then I placed my mermaids so that they each centered on the circles with the one sitting on the rock overlapping the sentiment. The sentiment was sitting on my desk leftover from another mermaid card. Crumb Cake ink was brushed over the sentiment to give it a sandy feel.

Next, I added real shells in the bottom corners on top of some pink and green vellum die cut seaweed. A silver seahorse charm was added to the sentiment using my Flush Wire Cutter to cut off the loops on the charm to make it lie flat. Tip: use Glossy Accents to create a strong adhesive hold for shells and charm.

I added a scattering of clear bubble embellishments to mimic air bubbles in the water and add dimension.

Clear Wink of Stella was added to the mermaids’ tails and starfish to give them a subtle shimmer and Glossy Accents to the pearl and braid tie for the Green Mermaid.

Have a Mermazing Day

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing my Have a Mermazing Day as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Conie Fong Art & Design using the beautiful Rosealea Mermaid And Sentiment Bundle.

The Details of My Card

For my card, I knew that I wanted to incorporate what I learn in a December 2020 Kit and Clowder Colouring Class to colour Rosealea. In the class, I learned how to create a rainbow-coloured fin as well as lots of texture on her tail using a stippling technique. I love that you can take what you learn and apply it to other things! I was so pleased with how Rosealea turned out!

Once my image was coloured, I pulled out the perfect piece of Whimsy Slimline paper! The colours in the scene matched my colouring to a T! The Whimsy paper makes it so easy to create a fast scene! The paper was die cut with a scallop boarder to mirror the scallops of her scales on her tail.

The sentiment was from the Bundle and to create interest, I added some real shells on one side and a silver mermaid charm on the other side. I used my Flush Wire Cutter to cut off the loops on the charm to make it lie flat. Tip: use Glossy Accents to create a strong adhesive hold.

I added a scattering of clear bubble embellishments around Rosealea to mimic air bubbles in the water and add dimension.

Clear Wink of Stella was added to her tail to give it a subtle shimmer and Glossy Accents to the pearls in her hair.
