Hoping for Snow Card

Hoping for Snow Card - a winter card with snowflakes and birds on it.
Hoping for Snow Card

Hello Crafty Friends! Happy New Year! Laurie here again! I am sharing my Hoping for Snow Card using the Frozen Edges Stamp & Die Bundle by Stampin’ Up! This Bundle has retired, but you can still get the dies. However today is the last day for the products that are retiring. So hurry so that you don’t miss out!

The Details of My Hoping for Snow Card

My card was for a swap with other demonstrators, and I thought a tri-fold window card with the Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper peeking through the die cut snowflake borders would be fun! I love this beautiful paper and am so glad that it is carrying over!

For my card, I took a 5 ½” x 8 ½” card base of Costal Cabana and scored the 8 ½” side at 4 ¼” just like any card. Then I trimmed it down to 8” and 6” to create 3 pieces of card stock. I discarded the smaller piece. Next, I die cut both remaining pieces to create the borders. I made sure to leave about a ¼” border at the top and bottom of the die cuts so that when placed on the Window Sheet, there was a good area for the glue.

Once that was done, I glued the two pieces to the Window Sheet leaving a gap for the DSP to show through.

For the sentiment, I silver embossed it on a piece of Basic White, added some Costal Cabana snowflakes and die cut it out with one of the Spotlight on Nature Dies.

For the inside, I created a tab on the DSP with a ¼” score so that it could be glued under the Basic White piece to hide the connection.

As a finishing touch to the front of my card, I used some die cut white glimmer snowflakes and a scattering of Rhinestone Basic Jewels for some shine.
