Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Orchid Birthday Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Conie Fong Art & Design using Moonflower from Leilani and Moonflower Lullaby.
The Details of My Orchid Birthday Card
For my card, I thought she would make a beautiful birthday card for a special someone! So, I coloured Moonflower with my Copic markers. This was the first time colouring such fancy orchids. I watched a class by Alyce from Kit & Clowder on how to colour such details on them. To add a bit of sparkle and shimmer, I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the orchids and dots of a White Gelly Roll Pen to her lips. Once she was coloured, I used my Brother Scan & Cut to cut her out.
I thought an easy faux fun fold would add a nice surprise for the recipient. So, I trimmed 1 ½” off the right side of the front to allow the inside Secret Garden paper to peek through to the front. I also used the same paper pack, but a different paper for the front flap.
Next, for my focal point, I decided to add a Gorgeous Grape die cut frame with some pretty paper behind her to create some visual interest. In addition to that, I tucked in some Mossy Meadow leafy vines around her. The sentiment was hot foiled in Rose Gold and die cut out. Love the shimmer of foiling!
Finally, for embellishments, I added a scattering of Champagne rhinestones.
