My Happy Mail Card

My Happy Mail Card - a card with a letter sticking out of a mailbox.
My Happy Mail Card

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing My Happy Mail Card using the Sending Love Bundle and the Perennial Postage Dies by Stampin’ Up! I am so glad to see that both are carrying over to the new Annual Catty! However, the Bee Mine Designer Series Paper is retiring! So, if you want to get it, today is the last day!

The Details of My Happy Mail Card

For my card, I thought it would be fun to use the Perennial Postage Dies with the mailbox from the Sending Love Bundle! Who doesn’t love to get happy mail! So, I created a collage of DSP postage backgrounds for my mail elements. For the narrow postage die, I decided to stamp the franking stamp in Pool Party and then add the die cut Sent with Love Real Red sentiment with die cut hearts that match the DSP.

Next, I created an interactive mailbox with a repositionable Real Red flag using a round brad. I stamped the MAIL onto the mailbox in Real Red and added a Real Red post. I placed my mailbox at an angle so that the letter looks like it is falling out of the mailbox. Lol!

Don’t you just love the little letter that I die cut in more DSP. I couldn’t resist sealing it with an adhesive-backed heart!

The finishing touch was a few adhesive-backed flowers to add a fun element to my card.

My Birthday Notes Card

My Birthday Notes Card - a birthday card with a journal page on the front
My Birthday Notes Card

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing My Birthday Notes Card using the Nature’s Sweetness Suite Collection which includes the Notes of Nature Bundle, the Lovely & Sweet Bundle, the Nature’s Sweetness 12” x 12” Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Adhesive-Backed Cork Rounds all by Stampin’ Up! As I was exploring this gorgeous Suite, I ended up making 2 cards. I used one card for a swap, and this is the second card that I created. I will include a link to the other card at the end of this post. Some of these items are retiring! So, make sure you shop before they are gone!

The Details of My Birthday Notes Card

Like the other card, I thought it would be fun to continue the distressed field journal idea for my card front.

First, I stamped the Field Notes in Pecan Pie and added some distressing with the grunge stamp in Pebbled Path on the Basic White “page”. I added a Pecan Pie tab at the top and the die cut holes like a spiral notebook. To add a worn look to the “page”, I spritzed it with water and crumpled it. Then, by placing dimensionals in strategic locations on my unraveled “page”, I was able to keep a lot of dimension in it.

The sentiment was stamped in Pecan Pie, and I used a Pebbled Path label to make it pop from the “page”.

For this card, I decided to use the cross hatch and the text pieces of the DSP to create a booklet look behind my journal. To match the gold accents on the DSP I added a strip of gold foil on my base and die cut leaves on the Field Notes “page”.

The finishing touch was a scattering of Adhesive-Backed Cork Rounds that come in the Nature’s Sweetness Suite Collection.

My Lantern Window Card

My Lantern Window Card - a thank you card with a lantern in a window
My Lantern Window Card

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing My Lantern Window Card using the Lighting the Way Stamp Set and the Lighting the Way Dies by Stampin’ Up!

The Details of My Lantern Window Card

For my card, I decided to create a Window Double Open Fun Fold that allowed the gorgeous Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper to show through behind the beautiful lantern.

First, I stamped the trail of lights in Gorgeous Grape on the card base for a tone-on-tone look.

Next, I used with the Deckle Circle Dies to create my window frame. Tip: add glue along the edge of the larger Crumb Cake die cut circle and adhere to the Gorgeous Grape card base before cutting out the circle centre. Then cut out both at the same time so that everything lines up.

I die cut the fireflies in White Glimmer Specialty Paper and brushes some Crushed Curry to their tails to make them glow. I placed the two on the front of the card following the trail of lights and one on the inside showing through the window.

Inside of Card

The lantern was die cut twice in the Holographic Paper for the front and for the back to give the lantern a finished look from inside. I added some vellum to the inside of the lantern on which I stamped the fire glow in Crushed Curry.

The embossed sentiment helped to hold the lantern in place while a bow of Linen Thread and a glue dot anchored the top of the lantern.

For the inside of the card, I created the double open part by adhering the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper to folded Basic White card stock. Thus, creating a perfect place to write your message.

My Lavender Birthday Card

My Lavender Birthday Card - a birthday card with a Provençal theme of lavender fields scene
My Lavender Birthday Card

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing My Lavender Birthday Card using the Hills of Tuscany Stamp Set by Stampin’ Up! I had so much fun creating the lavender fields in Provence for another card that I also made this mini slimline tri-fold window card! A link to the other card is included at the end of this post.

The Details of My Lavender Birthday Card

For my mini slimline card, I decided I wanted to create a three-panel card with the Provence scene peeking through the window on the front of my card.

Close Up of Scene
Close Up of Scene

First, I stamped the fields in Highland Heather followed by Gorgeous Grape to add interest to make it look like lavender. Next, I stamped Shaded Spruce trees on the opposite side of the springs of lavender on the front of the card to add balance. For the house, I used Crumb Cake for the walls and Copper Clay for the roof. I stamped the sky in Balmy Blue.

Inside of card with the scene
Second Panel of Card

Once the stamping was done, I die cut the stamped piece out with the largest stitched rectangle from the Stylish Shapes Dies. I also used the same die for the front of the card’s window. Tip: adhere down the piece of DSP to the front before die cutting to get placement. Run the die through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine multiple times to cut both DSP and card stock.

Next, I stamped butterflies in Gorgeous Grape on the inside panel to add some interest to that panel.

Third Panel of Card

To complete my Provencal theme, I die cut a bouquet of lavender with Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape and Shaded Spruce which was tied with Linen Thread and placed beneath the sentiment on the front. The sentiment from the Throughout the Year Stamp Set was stamped in Gorgeous Grape and die cut out using a Perennial Postage Die.

The finishing touch was a scattering of Purple Fine Shimmer Gems to match my colour scheme.

Fancy Fold Step Card

Fancy Fold Step Card - a birthday card that has lots of folds
Fancy Fold Step Card

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing my alternative Fancy Fold Step Card using the March 2024 Memorable Meadows Paper Pumpkin. I have made this fun fold several times for different recipients, and it’s always Wowed them!

This Kit makes 9 cards of which I made three. I always like to make one set of the cards in the kit and then play with it to see what alternatives I can design.

Three cards made by a Kit
Cards from March 2024 Memorable Meadows Paper Pumpkin Kit

I made a total of nine cards with six being alternatives. I had a lot of fun playing with this kit! My alternatives included a bridge card, a faux-centre step card, a z-fold card, a fancy fold step card and two others.

My Other Alternative Cards
My Other Alternative Cards

The Details of My Fancy Fold Step Card

For this fun-fold card, I used 3 card bases front and back from the Paper Pumpkin Kit. I loved that the card bases were printed with a continual scene from front to back! With some careful measuring, this made it easy to create my card.

Front of Card

To decorate the front of my card, I used the arch from the Garden Meadow Dies and one of the sheets from the Meandering Meadows 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper that had some Daffodil Delight on it. I knew I wanted to use the daffodil die from The Love of Spring Dies to decorate my inside. So, I wanted to bring this colour throughout my card. The Radiating Stitches Die was a perfect backdrop for my arched focal point!

Front of My Card
Front of My Card

I used the Adhesive-backed iridescent embellishments, the wooden tree, and some Adhesive-Backed Dragonflies & Birds to decorate my card front.

Inside of card

For the larger panels, I used the same card base for the panels that when folded are side by side. For example, I used the larger tree card base for the two front panels that are shown when the card is close. Then, I used the smaller panoramic card base for the two large inside panels. I trimmed the left and right card base sides at 2 ½” wide making sure I used the matching panels when they were adhered. I saved the scored pieces for the large squares. Luckily, the decorations hid the score lines well.

Next, I used the daisy card base for six of the small squares. I did not mat these since the squares are already so small. Again, I made sure to cut them so that they matched when laid down in a row. The centre square was left over from the scraps.

To decorate my card, I stamped the sentiments in Garden Green on the different precut pieces with gold foil. I layered the leaves and daffodils behind the two inside my card using the vellum pieces that come in the kit to accent them.

You Light the Way Card

Light the Way Card - a card with a lantern and fireflies on it
Light the Way Card

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing my Light the Way Card using the Lighting the Way Stamp Set and the Lighting the Way Dies by Stampin’ Up! These are both set to retire end of this month. So, get yours while you can!

The Details of My Light the Way Card

This card was created for a swap, and I thought a split panel card with the lantern connecting the two pieces would be fun! I used a Window Sheet for the transparent window to give added stability.

For my card, I went with the Stargazing Designer Series Paper for the top half for the sky and the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper for the bottom half for the ground. I die cut the fireflies in White Glimmer Specialty Paper and brushes some Crushed Curry to their tails to make them glow. Next, I embossed a trail of lights in the wake of the firefly on the Stargazing Designer Series Paper.

The lantern was die cut twice. Once in the Holographic Paper for the front and again in Basic Black for the back to give the lantern a finished look from inside. I added some vellum to the inside of the lantern on which I stamped the fire glow in Crushed Curry. A bow of Linen Thread added to the top of the lantern finished it off.

Tip: for the sentiment, adhere the Basic White piece inside and then using the Night of Navy card base pieces for placement, stamp the sentiment before decorating them.

Finally, to add a bit more magical shimmer, I used the Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels scattered around my lantern. These are also retiring. So, make sure you get them before they are gone.

My Field Notes Journal

My Field Notes Journal - a birthday card that looks like a book
My Field Notes Journal

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing My Field Notes Journal using the Nature’s Sweetness Suite Collection which includes the Notes of Nature Bundle, the Lovely & Sweet Bundle, the Nature’s Sweetness 12” x 12” Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Adhesive-Backed Cork Rounds all by Stampin’ Up! As I was exploring this gorgeous Suite, I ended up making 2 cards. I used this card for a swap, and I plan to share the other card at another time.

The Details of My Field Notes Journal

For my card, I thought it would be fun to create a distressed field journal of sorts for my card front with one of the pages “ripped out” filled with notes using the Notes of Nature Stamp Set. I even added a Pecan Pie tab at the top and the die cut holes like a spiral notebook.

First, I stamped the Field Notes in Pecan Pie and added some distressing with the grunge stamp in Pebbled Path on the Basic White “page”. To add a worn look to the “page”, I used a Blending Brush to brush some Pecan Pie ink along the edges.

Next, I stamped the crosshatch stamp in Pebbled Path in opposite corners on the card base for a tone-on-tone look. I thought that the Pecan Pie mat looked like the back of a leather covered notebook.

The sentiment was stamped in Pecan Pie, and I used a Pebbled Path label to make it pop from the “page”. The Basic White piece was also brushed with Pecan Pie ink for that worn look.

I love the beautiful Nature’s Sweetness Specialty Designer Series Paper with its gold accents. So, I decided to use different strips with the gold on my base. To match these strips, I die cut leaves in gold foil to give it unexpected shimmer to the Field Notes “pages”.

The finishing touch was a scattering of Adhesive-Backed Cork Rounds that come in the Nature’s Sweetness Suite Collection.

My Lavender Fields Card

My Lavender Fields Card - A birthday card with a landscape scene
My Lavender Fields Card

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing my Lavender Fields Card using the Hills of Tuscany Stamp Set by Stampin’ Up! It was my birthday recently and I always create a card for myself!

The Details of My Lavender Fields Card

So, for my birthday card, I decided to create one that reminded me of our trip to Provence in France with the beautiful lavender fields. When I saw the Hills of Tuscany Stamp Set, I realized I could change the colours of the hills and voilà, Provence! Plus, the Painted Lavender Dies and Perennial Lavender 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper were perfect for my lavender fields card!

First, I stamped the largest field in Highland Heather followed by Gorgeous Grape to add interest and have it look like lavender. Next, I stamped a Shaded Spruce hill where I planned to place the house and trees. For the house, I used Crumb Cake for the walls and Copper Clay for the roof since we saw houses with those colours in France. Cypress trees, like the ones on the stamp, were also found all over Provence. So, I stamped them in Shaded Spruce to match the grasses. Finally, I stamped in Balmy Blue the sky twice to fill the space.

Next, using the Deckled Rectangles Dies, I die cut my scene and a Gorgeous Grape matt. For my card, I decided to frame my Provencal scene using the largest Radiating Stitches Dies in Crumb Cake almost like a picture hanging on a wall. Lol!

To complete my Provencal theme, I die cut a bouquet of lavender from Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape which was tied with Linen Thread and layered it on a DSP circle die cut from the Radiating Stitches Dies. The sentiment from the Something Fancy Stamp Set was stamped in Gorgeous Grape and die cut out using a Something Fancy Die. I layered two strips of DSP on the left side of the Basic White card base to balance the sentiment cluster.

The finishing touch was a scattering of Purple Fine Shimmer Gems that match my colour scheme.

My Happy 2024 Calendars

Happy 2024 Calendars - two handmade calendars. One with a bee on it and one with a bird.
My Happy 2024 Calendars

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing My Happy 2024 Calendars using the Bee My Valentine Bundle and the Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper by Stampin’ Up! I didn’t get done my Christmas cards this year due to catching Covid. So instead, I decided to send out calendars to some of my customers in the new year.

The Details of My Happy 2024 Calendars

For my calendars, I decided to create two different calendars with the same design but using different products. I couldn’t resist using the beautiful Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper which is a Sale-a-bration freebie if you spend $60.00 CDN on qualifying orders. And don’t you just love those cute bees from the Bee My Valentine Bundle!

Five Bee Calendars
Bee Calendars

Since I planned to mail these out, the Sending Dies was perfect way to send “smiles across the miles”! To add some interest to the Pool Party and Soft Sea Foam card stocks behind my focal point, I did some tone-on-tone stamping. For the Pool Party one, I stamped a couple of times the bee trail in Pool Party. For the Soft Sea Foam, I stamped the leaves from the Softly Sophisticated Bundle twice in Soft Sea Foam. This bundle is also free with a $120 CDN on qualifying orders during Sale-a-bration.

Five Bird Calendars
Bird Calendars

The bee was stamped and punched out with the matching builder punch. The birds were fussy cut from the Flight & Airy DSP. I used different birds for each calendar since there was such a selection from which to choose.

Two of the Bird Calendars

Next, I used the Adhesive-Backed Hearts & Flowers and Adhesive-Backed Dragonflies & Birds for embellishments. I also used a pearl for the “i” in “Sending”.

The final thing was to use the technique where you press the ink pad lid when closed to get some ink. I did this with the Pool Party ink pad and picked it up with my Wink of Stella. This gave the bee wings a nice sparkle!

My Classic Greetings Card

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! Season’s Greetings! One last Christmas card for me! I am sharing My Classic Greetings Card using the Christmas Classics Bundle by Stampin’ Up! which includes the Christmas Classics Stamp Set and the Christmas Classics Dies.

The Details of My Classic Greetings Card

For my card, I decided to create a music theme with the Joyful Specialty Designer Series Paper, the Merry Melody Embossing Folder, and the Loose Holly Gems & Sequins. Since I used the gold music notes for my embellishments, I went with the gold Simply Elegant Trim and gold embossing for the sentiment to match.

I love the holly dies that come in the Bundle and wanted to make them the focal point with the DSP die cut with the Nested Essentials Dies layered behind it. I was so happy with how all these elements came together!

Season’s Greetings, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Feliz Navidad, Joyeux Noël, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, Yuletide Greetings! However, you say it, I hope your holiday season is full of good cheer!

My Sunflower Thanksgiving Card

My Sunflower Thanksgiving Card - a Thanksgiving card with an arrangement of sunflowers in a pumpkin and other pumpkins.
My Sunflower Thanksgiving Card

Hello Crafty Friends! Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Sunflower Thanksgiving Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Conie Fong Art & Design using Sunflower Pumpkin Bundle. This purchase includes 5 PNG Images:

  • Sunflower Pumpkin Image
  • Sunflower Image
  • Pumpkin 1 Image
  • Pumpkin 2 Image
  • Happy Thanksgiving Sentiment

The Details of My Card

Since this weekend is the Canadian Thanksgiving, I decided to create a mini slimline Thanksgiving card using this beautiful sunflower arrangement. Perfect for a Thanksgiving card with the sunflowers and pumpkins!

I had fun colouring with my Copic markers the pumpkins in different colours to make them stand out from each other. The sunflowers are so gorgeous and a delight to colour as well!

I found this beautiful sunflower paper with soft colours that was fantastic for my card! I added a border at the top and bottom with some scraps of paper from Graphic 45. The fence behind the sunflower arrangement was a laser die cut that I trimmed down to fit my card.

The sentiment from the bundle was die cut with the Labels Aglow Dies to give it some interest. Of course, if you have an autumn card, you need a die cut leaf. Lol! I tucked this behind the sentiment which created an ideal backdrop for the paper sunflower from my stash.

The only other embellishments were a bumblebee and a scattering of rhinestones that matched my colour scheme.

Field of Daisies Birthday Card

Field of Daisies Birthday Card - a birthday card that has daisies on it
Field of Daisies Birthday Card

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing my Field of Daisies Birthday Card using the Fresh As a Daisy Suite by Stampin’ Up! This Suite includes the Cheerful Daisies Stamp Set, the Cheerful Daisies Dies, Fresh As a Daisy 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper and Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems.

The Details of My Card

My card was for a swap, and I decided to use the Fresh As a Daisy Suite for it. I love how the big daisy die is one piece making it easy to cut out a garden of happy daisies in seconds!

Once I die cut the daisies from Basic White cardstock, I used my sponge daubers to dab some Lemon Lolly in their centres to give them depth. I also dabbed some Pecan Pie to the edges of the Lemon Lolly piece on which I used the Timeworn Type Embossing Folder.

Next, to add to my focal point, I added a stitched circle of the DSP behind my daisies, almost like a blue sky in a field of dasies. From this, I added the sentiment stamped in Garden Green and some Garden Green die cut greenery.

To tie in my colour scheme, I added a piece of DSP between my focal point and the Lemon Lolly piece.

The only embellishments that I used were the Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems that came in the Suite.

Supplies:

Stamps/Bundles/Dies: Fresh As a Daisy Suite (161301), Stylish Shaped Dies (159183)

Inks: Garden Green (147089), Lemon Lolly (161666), Pecan Pie (161665)

Paper: Thick Basic White (159229), Boho Blue (161724), Lemon Lolly (161720), Basic White (159276), Garden Green (102584), Fresh As a Daisy 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (in Suite)

Accessories: Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder (156505), Sponge Daubers (133773), Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems (in Suite), Bone Folder (102300), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430), Stampin’ Seal (152813), Mini Glue Dots (103683)

My Serene Birthday Card

My Serene Birthday Card - A birthday card with a girl holding flowers
My Serene Birthday Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing my second card using Serenity by Conie Fong Art & Design called My Serene Birthday Card. The Design Team members are celebrating Girls/Ladies this weekend with all things feminine! So, I picked this beautiful image to celebrate, and I coloured her twice! I will post my other card at the end.

The Details of My Card

For My Serene Birthday Card, I decided to create a mini slimline card to show that you can create different sized cards with the same image. I made my card size a little larger than a normal mini slimline to fit all my elements, but it can still fit in a No. 10 envelope.

I used the Secret Garden paper again for my colour choices in her colouring with a slight variation on her flowers from my first card. Clear Star Gelly Roll Pen was used for her necklace and Wink of Stella for the butterfly’s wings to add some shimmer.

Two different coloured versions of the lady
Serenity

Next, I went with the Photo Play dies for my background. One of the dies is shaped like a tag, but I wanted to use it for the green piece behind her. So, I snipped off the tag part and hid that part beneath the sentiment piece. The two top horizontal banners were remnants from my first card, and I didn’t want them to go to waste. Plus, they gave a finished edge to the top while tying in the colour scheme.

For the next step, I stamped the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape onto a tag cut out from the P13 paper pad.

I thought the leafy vine going from my girl to the sentiment tied everything together so nicely while adding interest.

Finally, I added a scattering of brass butterflies for embellishments.

My Serenity Blooms Card

My Serenity Blooms Card - A card with a Lady holding flowers
My Serenity Blooms Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Serenity Blooms Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Conie Fong Art & Design using Serenity. The Design Team are celebrating Girls/Ladies this weekend with all things feminine! So, I picked this beautiful image to celebrate!

The Details of My Card

When you buy this digital stamp, you will receive two stamps with the girl’s hair flowing left or right. I couldn’t resist colouring them both with the same colour scheme, but with a variation on their flowers. So, I made one card for today and the other card will follow later.

Two different coloured versions of the lady
Two Versions of Serenity

For My Serenity Blooms Card, I decided to use the Secret Garden paper and decorative tags by P13 for my colour choices. I just love the gorgeous colours of them! I picked the paper with a wreath off to the side for my background and matted it with a matching purple paper from the P13 paper pad.

Next, I decided to add a die cut frame behind her to create some visual interest, but I thought it would be fun to have her off-centred from it. As a result, the wreath was flowing through my frame and they created a nice backdrop for my colouring.

The Decorative Tags are a perfect match to the paper, and I decided to use two of them to tie in my colour scheme. I added a bow to the top to cover the hole and finish the tags off.

For the next step, the Clear Star Gelly Roll Pen was used for her necklace and Wink of Stella for the butterfly’s wings to add some shimmer.

Finally, for embellishments, I added a scattering of brass butterflies and rhinestones coloured with my Copic markers to match my colour scheme.

My Poinsettia Christmas Card

My Poinsettia Christmas Card - A Christmas Card with a lady with Christmas flowers in her hair
My Poinsettia Christmas Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I’m squeezing in one final Christmas in July card for you today! I am sharing My Poinsettia Christmas Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Conie Fong Art & Design using the beautiful Christmas Leilani

The Details of My Card

I loved colouring with my Copic markers Leilani, especially all that gorgeous hair! I matched my colouring of the flowers to the beautiful Poinsettia Garden Paper Collection by Paper Roses that I just purchased on a road trip with friends! So, I went with a deep red for the poinsettias, a blue/green for the succulents and white for the other flowers. Tip: for contrast with the reds, add C5 to the deepest shadows to make the individual petals pop.

Once she was coloured, I knew that I wanted to use the pretty Poinsettia Border Die also by Paper Roses. This was purchased on the same road trip as the paper. I loved how the die is so delicate while allowing the Paper Roses smaller poinsettia paper to peek through.

Next, I added a border of pretty lace to mark my transition between the die and the other side of the card. I used a piece of the Paper Roses paper with larger poinsettias on it as a backdrop for Leilani. Since this is a Christmas card, I thought a gold edge to it would tie in nicely to the other gold accents.

The sentiment was heat embossed in gold and matted with Cherry Cobbler. To continue the gold theme, I added a gold die cut filigree below it.

Then the paper poinsettias were added around her. The gold centres mirror the gold Gelly Roll Pen that I used on the poinsettias in my colouring.

Finally, the finishing touch was a couple of gold glitters dots placed around my focal point of Leilani.
