Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing my Joy to the World Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls usingPenguin Joy.
The Details of My Card
The Penguin Joy digital stamp comes horizontal, but I thought it would be fun to fussy cut them out and place them vertical like the penguin is balancing the letters. Then, I decided to create a slimline shaker card! Who doesn’t love a fun shaker card!
The slimline cloud die was perfect backdrop for my scene! I just had to add a snowbank that the penguin could balance on and that I could stamp my sentiment. Of course, I had to have some die cut snowflakes falling like on the DSP and to mirror the snowflake sequins. To add more shimmer, I adhered rhinestones to the centre of the die cut snowflakes.

The Details of My Card
I recently bought this slimline die that looks like a ticket stub and thought it would work perfectly for the two stamps that I coloured with my Copic markers! I place the Christmas Stocking on the smaller side and Molly on the larger side with the sentiment from Echo Park Frames & Tags set.
For the stocking side, I die cut a pine branch and “hung” the stocking with some ribbon. For Molly’s side, the sentiment suited perfectly the theme of my card. I added some wooden stars and snowflake embellishments to match the Snowflake Specialty Vellum. A scattering of Red Rhinestones tied in my colour scheme. The finishing touch was Star Dust Stickles on Molly’s and the stockings’ white trim and on the pinecones. Can never have too much sparkle for a Christmas card!

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Hello Fall Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Conie Fong Art & Design using Sweet Autumn Kitty. This stamp is the quintessential Fall stamp with the pumpkin, fall leaves, acorns, a witch hat, and cat!
The Details of My Card
For my mini slimline card, I used this beautiful paper by P13 called The Four Seasons – Autumn and decided to colour the stamp to match. I couldn’t resist giving the leaves a fall colour using several Copic markers to get the variations in their colour. I have discovered that I love colouring pumpkins and getting such rich colour depth in them! The hat was coloured in a blue/violet tone to match some of the smaller berries on the paper and to give it an unexpected pop of colour. I went with a black cat since all witches should have a black cat! Lol!
Since the paper had a rustic feel to it, I blended some Walnut Stain to all the edges of the papers including the stamped piece. To add to the rustic charm, I added a frayed natural ribbon beneath my focal point. The sentiment is from an ephemera tag pack and summed up my theme perfectly! The metal leaf embellishment tied with linen thread, as well as the pumpkin chipboard, added to the Fall theme.
To further tie in my colour scheme, I coloured some rhinestones with my Copic markers and added them to opposite corners.
Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing my Happy Hauntings Halloween Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls using Secret Girl Emma.
The Details of My Card
For my card, I decided to create a Halloween card and colour her with my Copic markers like Coraline in the movie. But Emma would be great for Spring, back to school, birthday and so many more occasions!
I decided to watch the movie for colouring inspiration! It’s a very entertaining movie and a must see if you love not so spooky Halloween movies like me. So, I had a lot of fun colouring her blue hair and making her look like Coraline!
I had to add a spooky spider web panel with a glittery spider on it. The openings of the spider web allowed me to add some bootackular paper behind it! Lol! I thought it would be fun having her walking by a graveyard as she is trick-or-treating. The sentiment is from the Chit Chat and I just cut off the pointy speech bubble part to make it non-directional and more like a sentiment.
The Halloween candy banner was perfect for my card since she is trick-or-treating! A couple of sprinkles to match her jacket/boots and a black rhinestone were all the other embellishments this card needed.
Hello Crafty Friends! Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing my Thanksgiving Memories Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Conie Fong Art & Design usingSunflower Pumpkin Gnome. This digital stamp comes with or without the background and in both png and jpg formats.
The Details of My Card
Since this weekend is the Canadian Thanksgiving, I decided to create a mini slimline Thanksgiving card using this cutie with the background. I love this time of year with the changing leaves and being thankful for so many things! I had a lot of fun colouring him in Autumnal colours of oranges, yellows, and browns! And I happen to be on a kick for mini slimline cards! So, that was a given! Lol!
Once he was coloured, I trimmed him to fit my card. I added some die cut leaves with a paper sunflower that I had in my stash. On the other side, I added a Fall flag that was perfect for my theme since Thanksgiving is all about family, memories and being grateful! The only embellishments were a lined thread bow on the flag and a scattering of rhinestones to match my colour scheme.
Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Pop & Twist Halloween Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls. I was honoured to have been asked to present my colouring and a project this past weekend for the Paper Nest Dolls’ Not So Spooky Magical Weekend! So, I created a tag for the event, but I had so much fun that I created a card using the stamps from the retreat and based it on my tag with a twist!
The Details of My Card
For my card, I decided to create a Pop & Twist card. I love how when you open the card, the stamps on the inside fold out and pop up!
My Card in Action
The front of the card was based on the tag that I presented with a few tweaks to fit the card size.
My Tag from the Paper Nest Dolls’ Not So Spooky Magical Weekend
The inside was where all the magic happened as you open the card! When I saw these cute critters, I knew I wanted to create a twist and pop card!
I used very little decorations on the inside since I wanted the card to fold as flat as possible, but I couldn’t resist some glittery bats and Halloween words.

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My EEK It’s a Halloween Card as my Design Team Inspiration for Conie Fong Art & Design using the sweet Wynona Pumpkin Kitty. She comes in PNG and JPG formats.
The Details of My Card
For my card, I decided to colour Wynona in bright Halloweenie (my technical term! Lol!) colours with my Copic markers. I have always loved bright greens with purples for a spooktacular Halloween card! These colours went perfectly with my Doodlebug Papers!
Since Wynona was in the pumpkin patch, I had to add more die cut pumpkins to layer behind her! The black/white twine was tied around them and the bow secured my fun witches hat charm!
The spider web doily created an ideal backdrop for my focal point of Wynona and her Kittie!
I added a few matching dots and the die cut “EEK” from gimmer paper to give my card some sparkle.
Wynona is such a sweet stamp with her cute Kitty in the pumpkin patch!
Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing A Magical Ever After Card using Magical Wedding by Paper Nest Dolls for my Design Team Inspiration Card.
The Details of My Card
Don’t you just love the mouse ears on these cuties! This stamp is so perfect for a magical wedding card! If you know anyone getting married at Disney, this stamp is for them!
I had fun colouring these cuties with my Copic markers. I decided to give the groom a light gray suit with darker trim on which I used Wink of Stella to give the trim a satin look. For the matching pops of red on the Bride and Groom, I used Star Dust Stickles to give them some sparkle. For the Bride, I went with the traditional white. The banner, I kept quite simple with white for the banner and white doves.
The background cathedral lace frame was perfect to set off these cuties! I popped it up from paper that had a Disney theme. You could use a more Disney themed piece, but I went with a black/white stripe with confetti on it. Very elegant!
I decided to add a cluster of embellishments at the bottom right side that consisted of some flowers, a black glimmer die cut Mickey balloon and a red glimmer die cut “love”. These all tied in the theme and colours perfectly! The only other embellishment was a scattering of rhinestones to add more sparkle.

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here with My Clockwork Anniversary Card using the beautiful Steampunk Time digital stamp By Krista Smith Stamps for my 28th wedding anniversary card for my Hubby.
My hubby loves anything steampunk and I found this awesome digital stamp by Krista Smith Stamps that I thought would make a beautiful card for him!
The Details of My Card
For my card, I decided to colour her with my Copic markers in muted tones to match my paper and my grungy steampunk theme. I haven’t used this colour scheme before but was very happy with how it turned out! I went with black hair with blue underpainting to give her a hip edge. Another first for me to colour like this!
Underpainting B24 to Hair
Once I finished colouring her, I blended some ink along the edges of the paper to give it a distressed look. I also blended ink along the edges of the design paper and sentiment to make them more worn. The paper from Stamperia was perfect for my steampunk theme since it had that industrial look to it.
Of course, I had to add the pocket watch die since she is holding a pocket watch. I rubbed some Brushed Iron Wax on it, the gears, and mats to make them look worn and to bring out the details on them. This is my new favourite product, next to my Copic markers, of course!
You can never have too many gears on a steampunk card! So, I pulled out my Tim Holtz idea-ology gears, as well as another small silver gear that I had in my stash. I love how the silver gear had a heart for the centre of it instead of a circle! Perfect for an anniversary card!
Glossy accents were added to her pocket watch and Star Dust Stickles was added to the heart for the sentiment.
Using another trick that I like to implement, I coloured the rhinestones with my Copic markers to match my colours.
A simple sentiment with another heart says it all!

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Back-To-School Mini Slimline Card using the digital stampSchool Girl Avery by Paper Nest Dolls as my Design Team Inspiration Card.
The Details of My Card
I can’t believe that it’s September and the kiddos are back in school! Where did the summer go??
I had fun colouring Avery with my favourite product, my Copic markers, to match my Doodlebug paper! Look at those gorgeous curls! They were a blast to colour in a strawberry blond! I decided to give her a “Mad Men” look with black glasses, but the red and green make her look like the schoolgirl she is.
The Photo Play Notebook die was a recent purchase, and I knew it would be perfect for my mini slimline card! I couldn’t resist using the practice letters paper from Doodlebug. Who else remembers practicing their letters in school? The die cut flags in various Doodlebug paper were from the Photo Play Die set.
The circle tag with the apple was something I picked up a long time ago and thought it suited my theme. Of course, I had to thread some linen thread through the hole and tied it with a bow! I strategically placed the tag so that an apple on the flag beneath shows through the die cut apple on the tag.
Don’t you just love the shaker apple! It’s a sticker from Michael’s that I had in my stash waiting for a back-to-school card. The stars are Doodlebug Sprinkles that tied in my colour scheme.

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Happiest of Birthdays Card as my Design Team Inspiration for Conie Fong Art & Design using the sweet Twinkle Emily Bundle. She comes in PNG and JPG formats with 5 stamps:
I used Twinkle Emily Left for my card in JPG format.
The Details of My Card
For my mini slimline card, I decided to colour Emily in bright bonny colours with my Copic markers to match the DSP. Nothing says “Happy” like these colours!
I love how Emily is dancing with her birthday wand! So, I used a die that shows movement like she is casting a birthday wish for happiness on the recipient’s birthday!
Next, I used my new favourite dies that create a tag that can also be used on a mini slimline card! These Photo Play dies create a lot of wonderful layering opportunities!
I used my trick of colouring rhinestones to match my colouring to add some sparkle. Star Dust Stickles was added to the star on the wand and her pompoms. While Clear Wink of Stella was added to the flower on her hat.
Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing Love You Lots Card using Raining Hearts by Paper Nest Dolls for my Design Team Inspiration Card.
The Details of My Card
My 28th wedding anniversary is coming up and I thought this cutie would be perfect for my hubby’s card from me!
I had fun colouring her with my Copic markers, especially the red! My hubby knows it’s one of my favourite colours. I even coloured her hair to look like mine when we first met. Don’t you love the falling hearts and her bucket filled with love!
The Smitten paper pulled out the red and pinks of my colouring. It has roses and hearts with keys on it. So, I decided to pull out my key embellishments as a nod to my Hubby having the key to my heart. I threaded it through some Real Red Ruffled ribbon to make it look like it was hanging from the card.
The die cut pink heart border added some popped up dimension to one side. All I added was some resin hearts to tie in the red colour scheme.
A pink stitched die cut heart and wooden heart added the perfect backdrop to my white embossed sentiment tying in my red and pink colour scheme!

The Details of My Card
For my card, I thought it would be neat to combine the Fairytale Cottage and the Tricycle Gnome to create a fun easel card! I used the PNG version of the Tricycle Gnome so that the background would be visible behind the gnome. PNGs have a clear background.
For the Fairytale Cottage, there is a river that runs through it. But I decided that my gnome would be riding his tricycle down a dirt road instead of the river. So, I coloured the river as a road. I also strategically place him in the scene so that his flowers mostly cover up the wooden bridge. You probably wouldn’t notice it if I didn’t say anything. I also wanted to make sure that the quaint cottage was visible like he just left it to deliver his flowers.
Close Up of Scene
I had a lot of fun colouring the scene and the gnome with my Copic markers! The card didn’t need any embellishments, but I did add Star Dust Stickles to the light coming from the windows, his pompom and the dog’s pompom. I also added some accents in white with a Gelly Roll Pen to his outfit. And finally, I added Clear Star Gelly Roll Pen to the spokes and pedals of his tricycle and the orange flower centres.
Since I didn’t have a metal die big enough to cut out my scene, I used my Brother Scan & Cut to cut out the scene and the subsequent circles for my easel. I love the easel card since it folds flat for mailing purposes!

My Doll Detectives’ Slimline Box Card using Doll Detectives by Paper Nest Dolls
Zoinks! Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Doll Detectives’ Slimline Box Card using Doll Detectives by Paper Nest Dolls for my Design Team Inspiration Card. This bundle comes with 6 digital stamps including 2 boys, 2 girls, a dog, and a van.
The Details of My Card
I had so much fun colouring these cuties with my Copic markers that I made another card with them, but a slimline box card instead! I will add a link to the other card I made at the end of this post.
For my card, I thought a torture scene would be perfect for them using Enchanted Kingdom and Enchanted Forest Slimline Paper by Whimsy Stamps. This paper makes creating scenes so easy because it’s so detailed. Since the paper is so amazing, I decided to use the whole sheet, even though my card would be larger than a usual slimline.
Top View of Card Showing Layers
To create my scene, I decided to a box card would be fun allowing for 3 different layers on the front and another one for the back of the card. For each layer, I sponged a stencil to create the cobbled floor and road.
Side View of Box Card Showing Sentiments
For my sentiments, I thought speech bubbles with their iconic sayings would be such fun! So, I created them in Microsoft Word and used my Brother Scan & Cut to cut them out. For Jinkies and Jeepers, I wanted them to hover above the girls’ heads. Hence, I used a thin strip of window sheet for each and glued them to the layer behind them. I will include a link to a PDF of the sentiments that I created that you could download at the end.
The only embellishment that I added was the cute magnifying glass beside the main sentiment. Tip: use Glossy Accents to glue it to the card. I found it worked the best.

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing my Colour Your World as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Conie Fong Art & Design using the beautiful Artistic Leilani. She comes with 9 stamps including:

Artistic Leilani Right – Short Dress
Sentiment: You Color My World
Sentiment: You Colour My World
Sentiment: Happy Birthday To An Amazing Friend
Sentiment: I am not a hoarder. I am an artist.
Sentiment: Art comes from the heart
The Details of My Card
A good friend of mine retired recently and she loves to colour. In fact, she was the one who got me into making cards and colouring! So, I thought that Artistic Leilani would be perfect for her retirement card!
For my mini slimline card, I coloured Leilani with my Copic markers using the colour scheme of the Cute & Crafty Paper Pad with its bright colours. It was idea for my crafty colouring theme.
I used the piece of designer paper that had the bands of rainbow colours and layered it beneath my quatrefoil die cut. Isn’t it neat how the different bands of colour peek through the white die cut!
I love the cute Copic marker die cut piece from the Odds and Ends that I layered beneath my sentiment. A row of rainbow-coloured hearts is the other die cut piece that I pulled from the Chit Chat. You must have hearts when it comes to what you love to do!
I used Wink of Stella on the flowers in her hair and Glossy Accents on her pink jar. The finishing touch was some glittery sprinkles that matched my colour scheme.
