Happy New Year’s Eve! Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! For my last card of 2020, I am sharing my Guest Design Team Inspiration for Conie Fong Art & Design using Dandelion Wishes. This sweet fairy is “blowing wishes your way” for a wonderful 2021!

I had so much fun colouring her with my Copics markers in bright and bonny colours for a change from the Christmas colours that I have been using lately! This digital stamp can be used for so many different occasions, but I decided that I wanted to create a New Year’s Eve card. I knew that I wanted to use some new Stampin’ Up! products that I received that tied in the dandelion theme nicely like the Designer Series Paper and the Dies!

Our Friendship is Tweet

It’s Laurie here with Our Friendship is Tweet Card for Rachelle Anne Miller Creative Studios using her cute ‘Tweet Friendship’ Christmas Digital Stamp. I have been a big fan of Rachelle Anne Miller’s for a long time. In fact, I used my rubber stamp that was in my stash to create my card, but you can get the digital version in her store.

I love this sweet little girl with her tweet friends! I though she made a perfect card for a winter birthday and I have a lot of them coming up in January and February. So I have plans for her!

For my card, I coloured her with my favourite BG and YG colour combinations of Copic markers. I then created a frame by laying down the die that I used to cut her out and sponged Pool Party Ink with my new Blending Brush from Stampin’ Up! When I lifted the die up, I was left with a white frame to set off my image. I love the Frostyville Wreath in the Sparkle Glimmer Paper, but it was too small for my image. So, I cut it apart and draped it along the frame. To balance the “wreath” of snowflakes, I placed another larger snowflake opposite them. I thought that the Metallic Mesh Ribbon looked like cracked ice creating a subtle texture to the card. A scattering of Adhesive-backed Snowflakes added to the Winter Wonderland theme of my card.

Jingle All the Way

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here sharing my Jingle All the Way Card for the Design Team of Paper Nest Dolls. I used the updated Santa Ellie with Gift which is only $1 right now! Make sure you get yours at such a great deal!!

I coloured Ellie with my Copic Markers in Santa red and white colours. Isn’t she just the cutest in her Santa outfit! I knew that I wanted to create a shaker card and use some Christmas foil accents. There have been some awesome shaker cards by the PND Design Team, and I was inspired by them to give it a try! Since the Jingle All the Way die cut had bells, I used mini bells from the dollar store for the shaker part. I had to double up my adhesive strips to give the bells enough room to jingle when you shook the card. To tie in those bells, I die cut some from the Sounds of the Seasons Dies in the red and green foil and then tied 3 bells with linen thread.

Let’s Rejoice Christmas Card

My Let's Rejoice GDT Card — My Let’s Rejoice Christmas Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here again! I am sharing my Let’s Rejoice Christmas Card as my Guest Design Team Inspiration for Conie Fong Art & Design using the beautiful Angel Prayers. I created a slimline card for my Holy scene.

The Details of My Card

This digital stamp is perfect for so many occasions like birthday, sympathy, get well and thinking of you. However, for my card, I wanted her to be the Christmas Angel from the Nativity. So, I coloured her with my Copic Markers in Christmas colours.

I use the Clear Star Gelly Roll Pen on her wings and smooshed the lines with my finger before they dried. This gives the lines a softer look, but still allows a flowing movement of her wings. I also used the same pen on all the gold accents to make them shimmer. Finally, I added Clear Wink of Stella on her wrap. You can never have too much sparkle where an angel is concerned!

Instead of a night scene, I decided to create a sunrise with the dawning of the birth of Jesus Christ. For my sunrise, I used my Distress Oxide Inks and my Mini Blending Tool starting with Fossilized Amber at the base of the watercolor paper, followed by Worn Lipstick, Wilted Violet, Broken China and Faded Jeans.

Once the colours were blended, I used my Splatter Tool dipped in Frost White Shimmer Paint and then in water to create the sky.

For my Nativity scene, the die I used comes as border. So, a few snips here and there and add my Sahara Sand dune to create my layered scene with lots of dimensionals between the layers.

The Gold Foil stars were from the Silent Night Dies from Creative Expressions. The North Star was snipped from the largest die in the set.

To finish the card, I used a Gold Foil mat followed by a Stitched Cherry Cobber mat.

My Christmas Nativity Scene

It’s Laurie here with My Christmas Nativity Scene as my Design Team Inspiration for Rachelle Anne Miller Creative Studios. This time I wanted to create something a little different than a card! So, I made a multi layered shadowbox that lights up using the beautiful Nativity Christmas Digital Stamp.

The Details of My Scene

I had so much fun colouring the Holy Family with my Copic Markers! Once I did that, I created my scene using a number of dies from my stash. I ended up with 4 different layers. I love my focal point of the Family and the manger behind them! The In Good Taste Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up has photographic images of wood. Perfect for my manger.

TIP: Since the inside of the frame is smaller than the outside, I made my largest layer 5 5/8″ x 5 5/8″. All layers were 5 5/8″ wide with varying heights depending on their position.

The next step was to attach the lights. The wire from the lights was very malleable allowing me to position them exactly where I wanted. I even added a couple of lights behind Jesus’s head to give him a glow. I ended up using a ton of scotch tape to secure the lights.

Once the lights were in place, the next step was to add Foam Adhesive Strips between the layers.

Here is a photo of all the layers adhered together. Now that is a lot of layers!

Not everyone is into home decor, but this project could easily be made into a card. If I remove the frame and lights, you get a good idea of how a card would look.

My Christmas Poinsettia Card

My Poinsettia Card — My Christmas Poinsettia Card

I am sharing My Christmas Poinsettia Card using the Poinsettia Petals Bundle by Stampin’ Up! Who wouldn’t love to receive a card like this with all the touchable accents!

I love the details you get from the Poinsettia Dies where you can see the veins of the petals and they are especially striking on the Red Velvet Paper! You can achieve this by layering the cutting dies and the embossing dies together. Resulting in only one pass through your die cutting machine.

For my card, I used a number of products from the Poinsettia Place Suite including the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper and the beautiful Beaded Pearls which are currently on sale! You can just see the Poinsettia Specialty Paper running horizontally underneath the poinsettia. I used a bone folder to give the poinsettia flower extra dimension by curling the leaves a little. The gold cord from the Wonder of the Season Ribbon Combo Pack and the Beaded Pearl add a touch of shimmer to the card. I just love the softness of this card with all its textures from the different papers used!

My Design Team Card for paper Nest Dolls — My Toys for Tiny Tots Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here sharing my Toys for Tiny Tots Card for the Design Team of Paper Nest Dolls. I used the super cute Ellie in a Box from the New December Release.

It was so much fun colouring Ellie and her pop up box with my Copic markers! I decided to create Elie popping out of a jumble of toys waiting to be distributed by Santa to all the good little boys and girls for Christmas. I thought that the toys dies were perfect for my card even though the set was intended for a baby. They were one of the very first die sets that I bought over eight years ago! So, I can’t find the company that made them, but there are a lot more current dies that would work just as well. After cutting them out, I embossed and sponged ink on them while they were still in the dies to give added dimension on the raised areas.

Don’t you think that the Floral Oval die that Ellie is layered on looks like peppermint swirls on each side. The Designer Series Paper was from my stash as well, but I thought that the toys and ornaments went well with my theme and make Ellie pop from the background. Don’t you just love the fiber that is behind the focal point! It looks like something that you would use on a Christmas tree with it gold accents which tie in with the gold star and trim on Ellie’s clothes. A couple of Red and Crushed Curry rhinestones add a bit more sparkle.
