Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here to share my Congrats Grad Wiper Card. This fun interactive card is perfect way to celebrate a special grad on his/her special day!
The Details of My Card
This card is super easy to make since I used a Wiper Card Kit by Photo Play. All the guess work for how to make a wiper card was done for me. I just had to decorate my card.
The Celebrate! Paper Pad by Simple Stories was perfect with such sentiments as “Hip Hip Hooray” and “Yay, yay, yay” and “Way to go” on it. It’s supposed to be for birthdays, but I thought all those sentiments suited a grad!
Close Up of Year in Broadway Lights
Once I added my paper, it was time to decorate my card. I thought it would be neat to have the year on the front in Crushed Curry like it was lite up on Broadway! To decorate the Broadway sign, I used several stickers that matched my grad theme. But the fun part is when you pull the card open, the “Congrats Grad” sentiment with a sparkly Grad cap pops up! Just like when the grads throw their caps!

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here with my Time to Celebrate Card. This card is special since it’s the start of something wonderful! Rachelle Anne Miller Creative Studios and My Favorite Things are teaming up to bring clear stamps and dies to you! How exciting! My card is using the stamp set called You’re My Jam. I think it is awesome that you can now get dies to cut out your favourite Rachelle Anne Miller stamps! And I love the sentiments that come with it: “Grab the cymbals, It’s time to celebrate”, “We rock”, “You’re my jam”, “I can’t wait to get the band back together” and “ Thank you for playing my part when I couldn’t”. It’s Laurie here with A Grand Adventure Card for Rachelle Anne Miller Creative Studios using her cute Elephant Adventure Digital Stamp. This little girl looks like she is in for the ride of her life and making great memories as she does! One day, I hope to visit Africa and go on Safari with cameras. It’s on my Bucket List!
For my card, it may be hard to see, but the paper has elephants on it along with some other animals like giraffes, birds, hyaenas and more. So I knew I wanted to use that as my base for the card design. Even the Great Memories tag with the elephant came from that paper pack! The iconic Acacia Tree that is behind the tag came from the Safari Collection Dies and was perfect for my African theme!
For Technique Tuesday, I am sharing my Let’s Celebrate You Card that is demonstrated in my last colouring video from my presentation to fellow demonstrators. I love this big bold sunflower image with the matching dies from the Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle! I created another card using this set in an earlier post and used the same technique. Just in case you wanted to check it out, I added a link to it at the end of this post.
This advanced colouring technique uses 3 colours to creates more dimension and texture to what you are colouring. For the sunflower, I used three markers, Mango Melody Light and Dark and Calypso Coral Light, for the petals. I used the Calypso Coral in the darkest of shadows that are indicated by the artist drawn lines. For the flower centre, I use Soft Suede Light and Dark, but for the Dark Suede, I dotted the marker to create texture that the artist has indicated with their dots. In this video, I demonstrate this colouring technique:

Close Up of My Congratulation Card
For the sunflower, I used three markers, Mango Melody Light and Dark and Calypso Coral Light, for the petals. By adding a third colour, it creates more dimension and texture to what you are colouring. I used the Calypso Coral in the darkest of shadows that are indicated by the artist drawn lines. For the flower centre, I use Soft Suede Light and Dark, but for the Dark Suede, I dotted the marker to create texture that the artist has indicated with their dots. Let’s get started!
