Ornament with Gnome on it — Christmas Gnome Ornament

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing my Happy Christmas Gnome Ornament as my Design Team Inspiration Project for Conie Fong Art & Design using the Bauble Gnome and Sentiment Bundle. He comes with 6 stamps including sentiments May Your Holidays Be Merry & Bright and Tis the Season to be Jolly in PNG and JPG.

Details of My Ornament

I decided that I wanted to create something a little different than a card with this cutie. So, I made a Scandinavian Star ornament using some Designer Series Paper that had baubles on one side and red stripes on the other. I had so much fun colouring him with my Copic markers in reds/whites with a pop of blue for his bauble to match my paper choice.

To decorate my ornament, I created a bauble with gold foil and red glimmer paper that I placed behind my gnome with the sentiment layered on it. Since you may see the back of the ornament, I also created another bauble on the back that says Merry Christmas. Since I didn’t have matching blue embellishments, I coloured the ribbon and rhinestones with my B28 Copic marker. A favourite technique I love to use to make things match! Some Gold trim is added to hang the ornament.

Instructions to Create A Scandinavian Star

Start with a 6” x 6” piece of DSP cut into 12 strips of ½” wide. Make 2 piles of 6 pieces. If you have a continual pattern, make sure they line up.
Fold two of the strips in half to find center point and adhere in a “plus” shape.
Adhere two more strip on either side of the top piece lining up pattern.
Weave two strips on either side of the DSP on the bottom piece and adhere.
Using the remaining six strips, repeat the preceding steps to create the other half of the ornament
Turn over and adhere the corner strips together. You’ll fold the strips under until the opposite side is showing, then adhere those ends together so they are flush. If you are not seeing a “v” of the opposite side paper on the tips, then your ends are not being glued in the correct direction
Continue until all 4 corners are adhered.
Adhere the 4 corners of the other half so that you have 2 identical shapes.
Place one side facing down on top of the other, rotating it so that the points alternate, and the loose strips will each match up to an opposing point.
Thread each of the loose strips through the back of the points, so the whole ornament is loosely interlocking.
Adhere the loose ends to the underside of each point.
Snip off the excess of each point to create a points for the star.

Stack of Christmas Gnomes Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing my Stack of Christmas Gnomes Card as my Design Team Card for Conie Fong Art & Design using the cute Christmas Gnome Stack. They come with 6 stamps including sentiment Sending Christmas Wishes and Merry Christmas in PNG and JPG.

Details of My Card

I had so much fun colouring these cuties with my Copic markers in reds, greens, and blue/greens to match my paper choice which you can see poking out from beneath the Holly border. The sparkle on my star was achieved by colouring it first and then using a technique of dots and White Gelly Roll Pen. To continue the sparkle, I die cut a flourish of stars with some metallic sparkly paper that I layered behind my sentiment. I used the leftover from this die cut to add some solid glittery stars to my card. To carry to poinsettia theme of the gnomes, I added a handmade one beside the sentiment with some gold metallic pearls in the centre to match their poinsettias. As a finishing touch, I added some red rhinestones to add even more sparkle to my card.

Happy Christmas Presents Card

Details of My Card

I had so much fun colouring this sweet gnome with my Copic markers that I coloured him twice. Once with him and the tree separately and then him with the tree. Stay tune for a card with my second colouring later.

I love the Tulla & Norbert’s Christmas Party paper! If you look closely, you will see gnomes with presents and Christmas trees driving in convertible cars! So fun and perfect for my card! Since the paper had a lot going on, I made my layers simple for the card with the pine branches and the pink snowflake paper. The only embellishment that I used was the wooden present under the tree since you need presents under a Christmas tree!

Sending Christmas Wishes Card

My DesignTeam Card with Gnomes Mailing Presents — Sending Christmas Wishes Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! Have you started your Christmas cards? This is my one first since Christmas in July. I am sharing my Sending Christmas Wishes Card as my Design Team Card for Conie Fong Art & Design using the cute Christmas Mailbox Gnome. You receive the stamp and the sentiment Sending Christmas Love in PNG and JPG. I used the sentiment from the Christmas Gnome Stack since it suited my letter shape.

Details of My Card

I had so much fun colouring these cuties with my Copic markers in traditional greens and reds, but I added a pop of unexpected blue in the presents and bows. I love paper since it has a robin with a Christmas letter in his mouth. You can see him in the lower-right corner. I thought it would be fun to have an opened envelope with my sentiment tucked inside in one of the corners. A couple of punched snowflakes with some sparkly Kraftin’ Kimmie Dots tied in my blue. I used a lot of glitter with Star Dust stickles on their hat trim, pompoms and snow, Glossy Accents on the red Christmas baubles and Clear Wink of Stella on all the bows.

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! Halloween is only a few more weeks away and I couldn’t resist sharing another Halloween card! In fact, I am sharing two cards this time since I love this digital stamp so much! I am sharing my Witching You A Happy Halloween Cards as my Design Team Cards for Conie Fong Art & Design using the cute Witchy Broomstick Gnome. She comes with 7 images including the sentiment Witching You A Happy Halloween.

Details of My Cards

Have you ever found that you have two different ideas for a digital stamp that you want to explore? I did for this cute stamp! For my cards, I created a CAS (Clean and Simple) card and another one that has many layers to it. Which type of card is your preference? I tend to lean towards lots of layers and details, but this paper from Spellbound just called to be used with minimal details.

My Clean and Simple Card with a Witch — My Clean and Simple Card

I love the spooky scene on the paper. So, I angled my witch to show it peeking out from behind her. I added a spider web doily to make her pop from the background, some glittery bats, and the sentiment that come with her to my card. That was all this card needed.

My Other Halloween Card — My Detailed Halloween Card

For my second card, I used several different layers of paper that matched the fun Copic Markers colours that I used on my witches. I used the same doily and glittery bats but added a graveyard sticker at the bottom of my card like she is flying over a graveyard. A scattering of star sequins adds some sparkle to the background.

My Happy Thanksgiving Slimline Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! The Canadian Thanksgiving is less than two weeks away. So, I am sharing my Happy Thanksgiving Slimline Card as my Design Team Card for Conie Fong Art & Design using the new release Pumpkin Gnome. He comes with 6 images including the sentiment Sending Pumpkin Wishes.

Details of My Card

For my card, I coloured with my Copic Markers my sweet Gnome in Autumnal colours. To match these colours, I pulled out my Stampin’ Up! inks, fine blending brushes and the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Falling Leaves Stencil to create my Fall background.

The die cut wooden fence was the perfect backdrop for my sentiment. I added a flag with Doodlebug paper that tied in my gnome’s pumpkin. A die cut leaf and a couple of embellishments added balance to that corner. The finishing touch was a scattering of rhinestone in matching colours.

Sofi’s Happy Birthday Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing Sofi’s Happy Birthday Card as my Design Team Card for Conie Fong Art & Design. My card is using the sweet Feeling Fabulous. I gave this card to a good friend whose 50^thbirthday was yesterday. She is my Stampin’ Up! Guru, but loves to colour too! Happy Birthday Sofi!

Details of My Card

For my card, I pulled the colours from the paper that I used for my Copic combinations. There are small bits of blue here and there on the paper, so I decided to make that my main colour for her dress to make her pop from the background. For the roses, I coloured them and added Star Dust Stickles to give them some “glistening dew” on the edges.

I love the Rose & Brick Border Die from Paper Roses! It is so delicate and detailed! I had just bought it in anticipation of creating my card. Placing the paper behind it and popping up the main panel with dimensionals really sets it off nicely. To balance the coloured stamp and border die, I added a couple of flags in complimentary colours to the top left-hand corner. I thought it would make the sentiment stand out by having it fly horizontally to the other flags. A couple of blue rhinestones and a yellow paper flowers tie in my colour scheme.

My Summer Dreams Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I can’t believe that Summer is almost over! So, in the hopes of making the summer last a little bit longer, I am sharing My Summer Dreams Card as my Design Team Card for Conie Fong Art & Design. My card is using the sweet Summer Dreams. This image would be perfect for so many occasions like Birthday, Mother’s Day, Thinking of You, Wedding to name just a few!

Details of My Card

For my card, I coloured this sweet image with my Copic markers to match the beautiful Botanical Tea paper by Graphic 45. I had a lot of fun colouring all those waves and curls in her hair and look at those pleats! Omgoodness! Such colouring fun!

I have been wanting for a while to use the Stitched Greenery Dies by Stampin’ Up! and thought that they would make a perfect subtle mat for my focal point. I die cut the Botanical Tea paper and my coloured image with the Labels Seventeen in two consecutive layering dies. I used my Blending Brush to add some Vintage Photo ink to the edges of all my paper and die cuts. Next, I turn the larger one on its side and punched two holes in it at one end and threaded ribbon through the holes for an unexpected touch.

To add to the botanical theme, I added a leaf trinket so that it looks like it is attached to the ribbon. I found a paper flower that matched my colouring perfectly. To add some matching blue embellishments, I coloured rhinestones with my B34 Copic markers and scattered them here and there.

My Christmas Besties Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! One last Christmas in July card before July is over! I am sharing my Slimline Interactive Christmas Besties Card as my Design Team Card for Conie Fong Art & Design. My card is using Christmas Besties digital stamp which comes with 3 stamps including Snowy the Penguin – Christmas Besties with tree, without tree and without background. I used Snowy the Penguin – Christmas Besties with tree for my card.

Details of My Card

For my card, I coloured Snowy Penguin and his sweet friend with my Copic markers. I knew that I wanted to create a slimline card with the aurora borealis filling the night sky above these cuties. One of these days, I hope to see the aurora borealis in person! It is on my Bucket List of things to do.

For my aurora borealis, I created a mask to go over my colouring using Tombow Liquid Glue. I printed out an extra image on copy paper. Once I fussy cut out the image including the star and the Christmas baubles, I applied Tombow to the back of them and let it dry.

How to Create the Sky

For my colours of the aurora borealis, I used my Blending Brushes and the Stampin’ Up! Inks of Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry and Night of Navy with Crushed Curry for the glow of the star on their tree. While the mask was still in place, I splattered Frost White All-Purpose Ink with my Splatter Brush all over the panel.

Getting Ready to Create Aurora Borealis Sky

Another reason why I went with a slimline card is that I wanted to make it interactive and add lights. The Ez-Lights from Pear Blossom Press come with 3 lights and the mechanism to make them work. I adhered with scotch tape one behind the star and the other two on either side of the sentiment. Then I used a ton of black dimensionals that were doubled high so that they cleared the mechanism.

To finish off my card, my sentiment was die cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper along with the die cut star and punched stars. I used Glossy Accents on the Christmas Baubles and Star Dust Stickles on the star, pompoms, and snow.

Molly’s Christmas in July Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing Molly’s Christmas in July Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Conie Fong Art & Design. My card is using Molly’s Christmas Digital Stamp which comes with 3 stamps including Molly without dog, Molly with short ear dog and Molly with long ear dog. I used the short eared dog for my card.

Detail of My Card

For my card, I coloured Molly with her wagon of Christmas goodies and her sweet puppy with my Copic markers. Since the stamp seemed to have a country vibe, I decided to create a homey feel to my card. I brushed Vintage Photo Distress Ink on the edges and corners of my coloured image. The papers from Simple Stories really added to the country feel with the quilt design and shabby look.

I gave some dimension to the poinsettia die by cutting out the poinsettia 3 times. Once for the green base with the holly and twice in the red velvet. I snipped the unwanted pieces of red velvet away from my poinsettia. Then, I glued together the red velvet flowers and added some Metallic Pearls before I popped it up to overlap my focal point. I positioned the red poinsettia so that the green poinsettia below peeked out looking like the green leaves before they turn red. Since I die cut the poinsettia in the red velvet, I had the red berries left over to place in amongst the green holly leaves to add a bit of colour.

I knew that I wanted to use the wooden tree embellishment that I had in my stash but decided that it needed more to it. So, I created a tag with the Simple Stories paper that tied in my colours perfectly. However, the tag was too long. So, I die cut it once and then moving the die up and cut it again to create a smaller die. The red bow was fashioned from some fiber blends that I had in my stash. Star Dust Stickles, Gold and Clear Gelly Roll Pens add some sparkle with the red rhinestones.

Penelope Poppy Birthday Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing my second Design Team Inspiration Card for June using the cute Penelope Poppy by Conie Fong Art & Design.

My mom’s birthday is coming up and I thought that Penelope would make a pretty birthday card! I had fun colouring her with my Copic markers in bright reds to match her poppies. I pulled out all my poppy crafting supplies to make my card. Stampin’ Up! has several poppy dies and I couldn’t resist creating a poppy to set off the sentiment. Even the paper behind the die cut that she is layered on has poppies. I decided to create a Soft Suede frame to focus on her and the sentiment. A scattering of red rhinestones adds to the red poppy theme!

My Angel Messenger Card

My Design Team Inspiration Card — My Angel Messenger Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing my first Design Team Inspiration Card for June using the sweet digital stamp Angel Messenger by Conie Fong Art & Design. This is such a pretty image and can be used for so many occasions like Birthday, Sympathy, Get Well, Thinking of You and so on.

For my card, I had some leftover paper from the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps 2021 Spring Mini Retreat Weekend that I really loved with soft pinks, greens and purples. So, I used that to pull out my colours for my Copic markers. Once I coloured her wings, I used Star Dust Stickles to make them sparkle. Of course, all Angels have radiant wings! I love this paper so much that I used it for all my dies cut pieces including the bird and branches. The paper pad even has beautiful tags. I couldn’t resist fussy cutting one out and adding it with a pretty bow. A perfect setting for my die cut bird! A scattering of rhinestones and sequins were the only embellishments that my card needed.

Just Saying Hello Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing my Just Saying Hello Card as my second May Design Team Card for Conie Fong Art & Design.

For my card, I used the sweet Sophie and Puppy and coloured her with my Copic markers. I couldn’t resist colouring all her luscious curls red! Did you see her adorable puppy too! The sentiment is from the Maisy and Cory Mice Bundle. I thought having it layered into the heart made it pop out as if Sophie is saying “Just saying hello!” to the recipient.

I had a paper pad of banners that I thought would provide a perfect backdrop for her! It made a large 5” x 7” card but set her of really nicely. Since I wasn’t planning to use it as a banner, I tied some Gorgeous Grape sheer ribbon between the holes for the banner part. For my embellishments, I used some sequins, bakers twine and the cutest dog bone trinket! I also added rhinestones which I coloured with my Copic marker to match my card. Clear Wink of Stella was used on the flowers of her dress, hair bow and shoe bows to add a bit of subtle shimmer.

My Secret Garden Card

My Secret Garden Design Team Card — My Secret Garden Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing my Secret Garden Card as my Design Team Card for Conie Fong Art & Design. This pretty digital stamp is called Sweet Annabelle. She is perfect for Mother’s Day, a birthday, thinking of you and so many other card occasions!

I love the Secret Garden Paper that I have in my stash and have been keeping it for a special card. So, I decided to use it for my card and coloured Annabelle with my Copic Markers in softs pinks, blues and purples to match. I added Clear Star Gelly Roll Pen to the dots on her apron and on her hair bow for a little bit of sparkle.

For the card base, I embossed a die cut piece of Highland Heather with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder to give Annabelle a subtle floral backdrop. From that I layered the leaves so that they are wrapped around the tag that came with the paper pad. A few hydrangeas made with a punch tie in the colours of my colouring. For the pearl flower centres, I coloured them with my Y17 Copic markers to match the flowers in her basket.

Welcome Spring Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing my Welcome Spring Card as my Design Team Card for Conie Fong Art & Design. This digital stamp is called Bunny Tulips and comes with the bunny in the flower pot and two sentiments.

Spring has finally arrived in my part of the world! The tulips and daffodils are blooming, and the birds are singing. I love Spring and the renewal of life that it brings!

For my card, I coloured this sweet stamp with my Copic markers in Spring like colours of pink, yellow and blue. Did you know that you can have pink and yellow snails! Lol! I love how the bunny is peeking out of the flower pot! I used Glossy Accents on the pot to give it a shine and Stickles on the butterfly to make her sparkle!

For my embellishments, I had some paper tulips that were very long. So, I sniped them down and wrapped them like a bouquet you get in the store. I used some paper ribbon that I die cut into a square for the wrap. A piece of raffia tied around the bundle finishes this lovely bouquet off. I added a paper butterfly that matches the fence which was die cut using the Picket Fence Die-namics. I coloured a few of the pearls to match my card and added a few uncoloured ones to match the paper butterfly.
