Christmas Holly Wishes Card

A card with stamped holly on it.
Christmas Holly Wishes Card

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing my Christmas Holly Wishes Card using the Leaves of Holly Bundle which includes the Leaves of Holly Stamp Set and the Holly Berry Dies by Stampin’ Up!

The Details of My Card

For my card, I decided to make a Joy Fold card since it’s a card within a card and oh, so fun!

I love the Leaves of Holly Stamp Set with its Two-Step design to create images with added texture and dimension. Since the berries and holly are created with two stamps, I stamped the outline stamp first in Shaded Spruce and Garden Green for the holly and Cherry Cobbler for the berries on a piece of Basic White. Next, I inked the mostly solid stamp in the same colours, stamping on a piece of scrap paper to lighten the colour, and then stamping inside the outline.

Once I created my background for the die cut sentiment, I gold embossed the sentiment on Basic White and die cut it out. I die cut another piece in Cherry Cobbler which I then cut in half and adhered to the top and bottom.

The sentiment was layered on the die cut Garden Green/Shaded Spruce holly piece. I added some gold trim to tie in the gold embossed sentiment and placed it peeking out under the sentiment piece.

Next, I added Basic White for the stamped inside sentiment of the smaller card and to the base of the larger card followed by the DSP to both card bases. The sentiment piece was next. Finally, the two cards could be adhered together with the smaller one centred on the larger one. A finishing touch was some red rhinestones to mimic berries were added to the holly die cut.

Merry & Bright Christmas Wishes

A Fairy Girl Holding a Christmas Stocking
Merry & Bright Wishes Christmas Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing my Merry & Bright Christmas Wishes as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Conie Fong Art & Design using Molly’s Christmas Stocking Bundle and Bauble Gnome and Sentiment Bundle for the sentiment.

Molly’s Christmas Stocking Bundle includes 4 Images:

  • Image 3 & 4: Molly’s Christmas Stocking – Without Wings JPG / PNG format

  • Image 5-6: Sentiment May You Holidays Be Merry & Bright JPG / PNG format

The Details of My Card

For my card, I decided that I wanted to use Molly With Wings since I used Molly Without Wings for another card. I will link to it at the end of this post. Also, I wanted to use non-traditional colours in my colouring to match my paper. I love the look of Navy, Green and silver! Very elegant!

Once I finished colouring her with my Copic markers, I added Stardust Stickles to all the trim and Stardust Gelly Roll Pen to her wings to make everything sparkle. I double matted her and the card base with silver foil and Night of Navy to tie in my colour scheme. The silver star beneath the sentiment added to my silver colour scheme and gave a backdrop to the sentiment which I used from the Bauble Gnome and Sentiment Bundle.  I thought the jingle bell border die was perfect since she had a jingle bell on her top and they just had to be silver foile as well! A scattering of rhinestones coloured with my Copic markers to match my colour scheme, added more sparkle.

A Christmas Bluebird Card

A Christmas Card with a Bluebird Holding a Berry Branch
A Christmas Bluebird Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here again! I am sharing A Christmas Bluebird Card as my Design Team Inspiration for Conie Fong Art & Design using the beautiful Red Robin With Berries. The sentiment is from Christmas Mailbox Gnome and Sentiment Bundle.

The Details of My Card

For my card, I decided that I wanted to colour the bird with my Copic markers in blues instead of the traditional Robin colours. I thought it would be a fun way to show the versatility of the stamp. I had a lot of fun creating the texture of his feathers! Since some bird’s feathers take on a darker winter colour, I went with a tan colour for his white bib.

How to Create the Sky

For the sky, I had a background leftover from another card just sitting on my desk. So, I thought it would be a great way to use it! I just had to trim it down to fit my card. For my sky, I used my Distress Oxide Inks and my Mini Blending Tool starting with Fossilized Amber at the base of the paper, followed by Worn Lipstick, Wilted Violet, Broken China and Faded Jeans.

Distress Inks
Distress Inks Used to Create Sky

Once the colours were blended, I used my Splatter Tool dipped in Frost White Shimmer Paint and then in water to create snow.

Snow For Sky

Next, I layered the birch tree die on top. I love this die! It is perfect for mini slimline cards which are all the rage right now! I added a stitched snowy bank at the base of the card since the birch die doesn’t reach the bottom of the card. The snowy bank was the perfect platform for my die cut branch that the bird is perched on.

I wanted to tie in the bird’s berries and leaves with my sentiment. So, I printed another bird, but only coloured the berries and leaves and fussy cut them out. I then layered it behind the wooden star and sentiment. A strip of vellum that looks like snow anchors the sentiment piece. A piece of linen thread adds to the rustic wooden star.

Christmas Sentiment

To finish the card, I added some punched white glimmer snowflakes, glossy accents on the berries and Stardust Stickles on the hat trim.

My Fa La La Card

A Card with Snow People Singing Fa La La on it
My Fa La La Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Fa La La Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls using Snow Globe Bundle. This Bundle includes a clear snow globe with a selection of images and labels for the holiday season. I love the versatility of this bundle since you can interchange the images in the globe or use the images by themselves.

The Details of My Card

For my card, I decided to use the singing snow people without the globe. They are just too cute, and I had the perfect Fa La La die for them. In fact, I had two Fa La La dies. Lol! The cover plate behind them and the red glimmer falala.

I pulled the colours of the DSP to colour my snow people in a red and a blue/green. I used my favourite technique for their snow bodies where I use two light makers along the edges and then use my colourless blender to soften the transition between the colour and the paper. The same technique was used for their song books.

Since these cuties are singing, I had to add some musical notes floating up from them! Some glimmery snowflakes and snowbank add even more sparkle to my card. The finishing touch was Star Dust Stickles on their hat trim and the hearts.

My Wintery Christmas Barn

Christmas Card with a Horse Sled infant of a Barn
My Wintery Christmas Barn

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing My Wintery Christmas Barn using the Christmas Barn Bundle by Stampin’ Up! which includes the Christmas Barn Stamp Set and the Barn Dies.

The Details of My Card

For my card, I decided to make a faux centre-step card to allow enough room for the barn to fit on the centre panel. I created my faux centre-step card using my template with all my measurements that I have included at the end of this post. Some die cut snowflake were added at the top of the centre panel to create some interest before adhering it to the card base. You could add DSP as another option.

Side View of Card
Side View Of Faux Centre-Panel Card

My Stampin’ Blends were used to colour the elements to create my winter wonderland scene. I have included some links to past colouring tutorials using Stampin’ Blends at the end of this post.

Once I die cut them out, I stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler on the Basic White strip on the right side to allow room for the sled. I popped this piece up so that I could tuck in the barn and trees behind it. Before adding the sled, I trimmed the fence to fit and glued it in place.

I thought the Storybook Gnomes Designer Series Paper was perfect with its large snowflakes to add to my winter wonderland theme and you can see it through the die cut snowflakes on the centre panel! All the embellishments needed was to add the Sparkle & Shine Sequins to create a flurry of more snowflakes!

Joy to the World Card

A card with a penguin balancing the word Joy
Joy to the World Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing my Joy to the World Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls using Penguin Joy.

The Details of My Card

The Penguin Joy digital stamp comes horizontal, but I thought it would be fun to fussy cut them out and place them vertical like the penguin is balancing the letters. Then, I decided to create a slimline shaker card! Who doesn’t love a fun shaker card!

The slimline cloud die was perfect backdrop for my scene! I just had to add a snowbank that the penguin could balance on and that I could stamp my sentiment. Of course, I had to have some die cut snowflakes falling like on the DSP and to mirror the snowflake sequins. To add more shimmer, I adhered rhinestones to the centre of the die cut snowflakes.

The Details of My Card

I recently bought this slimline die that looks like a ticket stub and thought it would work perfectly for the two stamps that I coloured with my Copic markers! I place the Christmas Stocking on the smaller side and Molly on the larger side with the sentiment from Echo Park Frames & Tags set.

For the stocking side, I die cut a pine branch and “hung” the stocking with some ribbon. For Molly’s side, the sentiment suited perfectly the theme of my card. I added some wooden stars and snowflake embellishments to match the Snowflake Specialty Vellum. A scattering of Red Rhinestones tied in my colour scheme. The finishing touch was Star Dust Stickles on Molly’s and the stockings’ white trim and on the pinecones. Can never have too much sparkle for a Christmas card!

My Gnomeo Centre-Step Card

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing My Gnomeo Centre-Step Card using the Kindest Gnomes Bundle and the matching Storybook Gnomes 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper by Stampin’ Up! The Kindest Gnomes Bundle includes the Kindest Gnomes Stamp Set and the Gnomes Dies.

The Details of My Card

For my card, I decided to make a centre-step card to allow me to create a scene with the DSP. Almost everything was using the DSP. I love how the Gnomes Dies cut out some of the characters and the mushroom house on the DSP! I also love how multicultural the gnomes are with different skin tones.

Tip: Don’t throw away any leftover sheets of the Wonderful Snowflakes once you have used all the snowflakes. I used a small die to cut the snowflakes that I used on my card. This gives the snowflakes an iridescent look.

For the snowbank, I used the rounded die from the Basic Borders Dies. The only stamping was the sentiment in Real Red on the snowbank making this a fun and easy card!

For embellishments, I used a scattering of Fine Sparkle Adhesive-Backed Gems on the snowbank around the characters.

Furry & Bright Christmas Card

Christmas card with a dog on it
Furry & Bright Christmas Card

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing my Furry & Bright Christmas Card using the Christmas Scottie Bundle which includes the Christmas Scottie Stamp Set and the Scottie Dog Punch by Stampin’ Up! Since today is National Dog Day, I thought it would be fun to post this cute card!

The Details of My Card

For my card, I pulled my colour scheme from the Sweetest Christmas DSP in Real Red, Garden Green and Pool Party.

I knew I wanted my tartan Scottie in red. So, I stamped the tartan in Real Red and punched him and the bow out. Punches make it so easy!

I love the iridescent foil of the Wonderful Snowflakes! I’m so glad that they carried over from last year! Tip: Don’t throw away any leftover sheets once you have used all the snowflakes. I used a small die to cut the snowflakes that I used on my card. This way they match the larger Wonderful Snowflake behind the dog.

Die Cut Snowflakes

For the Pool Party Stitched Rectangle, I stamped the snowflakes that come in the stamp set in Pool Party for a tone-on-tone look. The sentiment was stamped in Garden Green on a Basic White Stitched rectangle leaving enough room for the punched bow.

For embellishments, I used a bow of Garden Green on the Scottie dog, Red Rhinestones on the snowflakes and a scattering of sequins.

Supplies:

Stamps/Bundles/Dies: Christmas Scottie Bundle (159744), Stitched Rectangles Dies (151820), Frosted Flurry Dies (159811)

My Rebel Baby was already coloured from when I practiced for my presentation at the Wizards and Rebels Weekend for Paper Nest Dolls back in August (here is a link to that card). He has been sitting on my desk waiting to be put on a card and I thought a Christmas card would be fun!

For my card, I found the cutest digital Christmas paper with him on it in a buffalo check pattern! I wanted the image in the top left corner where he is in his pram peeking through on my card. So, I designed my card around that image…though there was a lot of cute images of him all over the paper! Lol!

I used several Christmas papers that matched my red and black theme. In fact, the stitched circle behind him was digital paper from the Weekend. I thought it would tie in the Star Wars genre.

Don’t you just love his Santa hat at a jaunty angle! It’s a retired Stampin’ Up! punch, but I’m sure there are lots of dies out there that would work just as well!

“A Merry Christmas I Wish You!” Of course, I had to have a Yoda-ish type sentiment which I typed on my computer and printed it out. Several handmade poinsettias and red rhinestones tie in the red Santa hat!

Christmas Presents in July Card

Christmas Presents in July Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! Who else loves to make Christmas in July cards? I am sharing my Christmas Presents in July Card as my Design Team Card for Conie Fong Art & Design using the cute Christmas Present Gnome and Sentiment Bundle. This bundle comes with 9 stamps including Christmas Present Gnome PNG/JPG format, Christmas Present Gnome with Tree JPG format, Christmas Tree PNG/JPG format, Sentiment May Your Christmas Be Filled with Peace and Love PNG/JPG format and Sentiment Season’s Greeting PNG/JPG format.

Details of My Card

I had coloured with my Copic markers this sweet gnome a while back and I finally had a chance to make a card for him. I also made another card with him that I will post at the end.

For my card, the Doodlebug paper was perfect to match the bright colours in my colouring. Even the trees in the paper match my coloring! Lol!

I used the CC Designs Cloud Stencil and my Picket Fence Blending Brush to create clouds in Pool Party behind him.

I thought it would be fun to have him tromping through the snow. So, I pulled out my snow marker to create snow on the ground. I just love how it puffs up when I heat it with my Heat Tool.

Since it was a Christmas card, I needed lots of sparkle. So, I added Star Dust stickles to the star, ornaments, and trim on his hat. The holly berries even glisten with glossy accents!

The only die cut I used was a tree that I sponged Old Olive ink on and decorated with rhinestones coloured to match the ornaments on my tree.

My Snowy Birthday Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Snowy Birthday Card as my Design Team Inspiration for Conie Fong Art & Design using Snowy With Present. This cutie is a free digital stamp in the Conie Fong Art & Design Group on Facebook. You can find him here with some other freebies: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=oa.439587832883062&type=3.

The Details of My Card

This cutie can be used for so many things like Christmas, Valentine, Baby, Anniversary, Birthday, basically any kind of celebration! I have several winter birthdays and I decided that he would be perfect for one of my birthday cards.

I coloured him with my Copic markers to match my paper. The Doodlebug Paper was perfect for my wintery theme, and it had the cutest penguins on it! To add to my wintery theme, I embossed some white card stock with snowflakes and added a snowflake wreath to frame my focal point. A couple of rhinestones tied in the colour scheme and added sparkle.

Christmas Gift Card Holder

Gift Card Holder
Christmas Gift Card Holder

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing my Christmas Gift Card Holder as a Design Team Member of Conie Fong Art & Design using the free Santa Gnome Gift from the Kit and Clowder’s Day 23 of their 2021 Advent Calendar. Here is a link to the Facebook Post so that you can pick it up for free:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/kitandclowder/posts/4349541945174041

Details of My Gift Card Holder

I decided that I wanted to create something a little different than a card and I always need gift card holders at Christmas time. So, I created one to match the fun Doodlebug Papers in blues and purples for a masculine card. Once I coloured the stamp with my Copic Markers, I coloured a couple of rhinestones to match. I even coloured the frame behind him and the sentiment frame to match my colour theme. I added a couple of sparkly snowflakes and the ribbon to tie the card closed. Of course, I had to decorate the inside with a sentiment from the Christmas Gnome Stack since it fit perfectly inside my card. A couple more sparkly snowflakes finish the inside!

Instructions to Create a Gift Card

Gift card holder base: Gorgeous Grape – 7 ¾” x 5”

Doodlebug panels: 4 ¾” x 2 ¼” and 4 ¾”x ½”

Score the gift card holder at 6” and 2 ½”

Adhere the Doodlebug panels to the front top flap and to the front of the holder

Before gluing the side of the holder, take a 1” circle punch and punch a notch into the bottom flap, this will make getting the gift card out a bit easier (see picture below)

Using strong adhesive adhere the bottom flap on the gift card holder together (this forms the pocket for the gift card)

Christmas Means More

My Design Team Card with a Grinch hand reaching for an ornament and Cindy Lou Who
Christmas Means More Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing my Christmas Means More as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls using the digital stamp called Avery with Christmas Plushie

When I saw this cutie, I knew that I had to make a card for her! My hubby and I watch The Grinch Who Stole Christmas every year for Christmas. My hubby cheers for the Grinch to win and I cheer for Cindy Lou Who! You would never guess who wins! Lol!

Details of my Card

For my slimline card, I used my Copic markers to colour her with the movie version as my inspiration. I had so much fun colouring her, especially that hair, and her cute plushie!

I had this retired Stampin’ Up! sentiment that I knew would be perfect for my card and decided to create an ornament from it. Once I had die cut my stitched circle dies and layered them, I added ribbon and a gold jingle bell to it to make it look like an ornament. What’s more festive than the sound of jingle bells!

The Grinch’s hand was created from a Stampin’ Up! die that is an aloe vera plant. It looks so much like his gnarly hand! The white cuff was from a scallop circle die where I only used a small part on a scrap piece of white card stock. His arm was another piece of scrap that I cut to fit my card.

Since my card is based on the movie, I pulled out my slimline film strip die to layer behind her and my elements. I found the most perfect Grinchiest paper on Etsy for the openings of my film die! A couple of red rhinestone on the ornament and scattered around, add a touch of sparkle!

It’s The Most Wonderful Time of The Year!

A Christmas Card with a stocking on it that says It’s The Most Wonderful Time of The Year!
It’s The Most Wonderful Time of The Year!

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing one last Stampin’ Up! Christmas card called It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year! using the Tidings & Trimmings Bundle. This bundle includes the Tidings & Trimmings Stamp Set and the Christmas Trimmings Dies.

The Details of My Card

For my card, I was inspired by a card made by Lisa Hardie, another Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator. So, I used the layout and added my own flair to it. I love the Gold Shimmer Vellum! Perfect for a bit of Christmas sparkle! It’s hard to see in the photo, but it beautiful when the light catches it!

There are so many different patterns in the Tidings of Christmas Designer Series, and you get 8 of each pattern! Great for mass producing your Christmas cards!

I used the same Stitched Rectangle Die for my DSP and my sentiment which I stamped in Evening Evergreen. The stocking was stamped in Cherry Cobbler and die cut out with the matching die. Both colours are perfect for a Christmas card and matched the DSP!

I die cut the star from Early Espresso since it reminded me of those wooden stars that are so rustic. A scattering of sequins added a bit more sparkle to the card!

Supplies:

Stamps/Bundles/Dies: Tidings & Trimmings Bundle (155576), Stitched Rectangles Dies (151820)

Inks: Evening Evergreen Classic Stampin’ Pad (147111), Cherry Cobbler Classic Stampin’ Pad (147083)
