Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here sharing my Happy Hanukkah Card! Did you see the cute new release by Paper Nest Dolls called Hanukkah Set? It comes with Mini Owen with Torah, Mini Emma with Challah, a menorah, a dreidel and the Star of David. I was so happy to see such cute Hanukkah images! They are so hard to find.
We have friends who have two little boys that I send cards to every year. So, I knew that I wanted to colour up two of the boys to represent them for my Happy Hanukkah Card. I can definitely see the younger one wanting a Torah scroll just like his big brother’s one! Lol!
I love the elegant combination of silver and blue together. So, I made them my colour scheme for my card with lots of silver accents! Since I didn’t have any Hanukkah paper, I created my own paper using a retired Stampin’ Up! stamp that I already had. It is quite striking with the shimmery silver Delicata ink on the Night of Navy card stock. For the center piece with the Menorah and Star of David, I created a sponged background of Night of Navy and Balmy Blue ink. I then splattered water and Silver Wink of Stella to add texture to it.

I am happy to share my Country Harvest Card that is using my colouring techniques that I recently presented to fellow demonstrators. For my card, I knew I wanted to use an oldie, but a goodie, the Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder! The In Good Taste Designer Series Paper has a photographic image of tiles that I thought would tie in nicely with the embossing folder and the country theme of my card. To further the country theme, I used the Denim Ribbon to transition between the DSP and the Brass Foil piece. I used the Brass Foil as an accent, but you could use one of the new Brushed Metallic Cardstock instead. To finish the card, I used two Antiqued Corners to set off the coloured image.
For Part 2 of my colouring with Stampin’ Blends from my presentation, I am showing the difference between colouring light to dark versus dark to light. For this demonstration, I used the jug from the Country Home Photopolymer Stamp Set. Some people prefer adding ink from light to dark creating a saturation of ink for easy blending. Others prefer to add ink from dark to light creating a lighter coloured image since you use less ink. The two most common ways to add ink are circling and flicking. Each technique produces a particular appearance and knowing how to use them will add depth and variation to your projects.

Fold the Whisper White Thick card stock in half to create the card base.
Stamp the jug and flowers in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on the larger piece of Whisper White
Colour the flowers and jug with the Stampin’ Blends listed above using the video for reference when colouring the jug
Die cut the jug and flowers with the fifth largest Stitched Rectangles Die
Die cut the Night of Navy card stock with the fourth largest Stitched Rectangles Die
Adhere this Night of Navy piece to the coloured image
Emboss the Soft Suede with the Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder
Stamp the sentiment in Rich Razzleberry and die cut it out with the third smallest Stitched Rectangles Die
Adhere the Soft Suede to the card base with Stampin’ Seal
Adhere the Brass Foil piece and the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper to the larger Night of Navy piece with Stampin’ Seal
Wrap the Denim Ribbon around the Night of Navy piece and adhere to back.
Adhere this Night of Navy piece to the Soft Suede with Stampin’ Seal
Using dimensionals, adhere the coloured image piece to the card base

I had a lot of fun colouring her with my Copic Markers! I love how her whole world is her stuffed bunny! As a child, have you ever loved your stuffie so much? 💕 So, I wanted to create a card with lots of hearts that shows that love. It’s amazing when you are young, how your stuffies really inspire creativity, a sense of security and love! You can tell them anything! When I was little, I had a stuffie called Horse, even though he was a dog (lol…he was from a rocking horse). He was as big as me and went everywhere that I went.

I was honoured to be asked to virtually demonstrate in a Facebook Live my Blends Colouring Techniques to some fellow demonstrators. So, I thought I would share for Technique Tuesdays some of my colouring techniques from the live video each week highlighting a card that I presented. The first card that I am highlighting this week is my Whiskey Business Card. I hope you will check back each week and maybe learn something new!
This card is perfect for that man in your life who loves his whiskey! This can be a Father’s Day card, a birthday card, a congratulations card…so many options. For this card, I wanted to create an old-world library kind of feel with the whiskey on a brass platter waiting for someone to help themselves. The World of Good Designer Series Paper with the wood image lends itself very well to that feel. The Early Espresso Faux Suede Ribbon and the buckle from the Antiqued Corners & Slides Elements both add to this feel as well.

Die cut the Early Espresso card stock with the largest Stitched Circle Die
Emboss the stitched circle with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder
Die cut the Brass Foil piece with the appropriate Tasteful Labels Dies
Colour the whiskey decanter and glasses with Cinnamon Cider and Dark Mango Melody for the liquid and Light Balmy Blue and Color Lifter for the glass according to the video:

Fussy cut the decanter and glasses out
Stamp the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad on the Whisper White piece. Trim one end on an angle
Adhere the World of Good Designer Series Paper to the Early Espresso mat
Thread the buckle onto the Early Espresso Faux Suede Ribbon and affix the ribbon to the card
Adhere this piece to the card base with Stampin’ Seal
Slip the embossed stitched circle under the ribbon and adhere with Multipurpose Liquid Glue
Using dimensionals, adhere the brass “platter so that it straddles the ribbon
Adhere the decanter and one glass using Stampin’ Seal on the “platter”
Use dimensionals for the remaining glass
Affix the sentiment under the raised glass with a glue dot and a dimensional at the other end of sentiment
My Merry & Bright Card Using Holiday Gifts Avery from Paper Nest Dolls
Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! Do you ever create non-traditional coloured Christmas cards? I couldn’t resist colouring the sweet Holiday Gifts Avery Digital Stamp in non-traditional pinks and purples for My Merry & Bright Christmas Card. Wouldn’t this stamp in these colours be a great winter birthday too! For this card, I added lots of bling with the glimmer paper snowflakes and snow bank and a ton of rhinestones. I always thought you can never have too much bling for a Christmas card! The sentiment pieces from the Doodlebug Chit Chat were a perfect complement to the card and don’t you just love the wooden present accent.
Life is A Beautiful Journey Card using the World of Good Suite
Today I am sharing My Life Is A Beautiful Journey Card that I created for a swap that uses products from the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue and the World of Good Suite. This card is a perfect masculine card especially for a retirement or a graduation!
I love how the pops of Misty Moonlight ink and the World of Good Designer Series Paper add a nice touch of colour to this very neutral card. I used Gold Foil Sheets instead of the Brass Foil Sheets only because they were on backorder at the time. The Brass ones would look just as nice! I wanted to add a bit of an old paper look by sponging Crumb Cake around the sentiment’s edges and on the DSP after it was embossed with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder. I was so happy to find out that the Metallic Pearls had carried over and I used them as the perfect accent to finish the card.

Amazing how beautiful and packed full of coordinating products the WORLD OF GOOD SUITE in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog is. The Beautiful World cling stamp set has globe imagery and sentiments that have to do with adventure. The sentiments are designed to work on the outside and the inside of your card project. The World Map dies cut out the imagery from the stamp set. The World of Good Specialty DSP has a 16th Century map style feel with gold foiling. The star maps on the DSP represent both Northern and Southern Hemispheres. Get the perfect weathered looking paper with the Old World Paper 3D embossing folder. Using this embossing folder will make it faster and easier to get an aged look on your paper, without the unwanted tearing.

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here with my Woodland Camping Fun Design Team Card for Rachelle Anne Miller Creative Studios using her cute Woodland Camping Digital Stamp. Isn’t this the sweetest image! I had a lot of fun colouring it with my Copic Markers! I decided to create a day time scene instead of a night time one to show you the versatility of the stamp.
Where marshmallows are involved, I love to eat them anytime! On a scale of 1 to 10, how do you like your marshmallows toasted? I love mine black on the outside and gooey melty on the inside like #9! Yum!

To make the fluffy clouds in the sky, I first masked the tent and animals with a Post-it Note. I then sponged Balmy Blue ink with a Picket Fences Blender Brush on the Krafty Scenery Stencil by Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps. By brushing the ink on the stencil in different angles, the clouds fill the sky.
I love the sentiment from the Summer Adventure Paper Pad, “Like campfires and marshmallows, we are better TOGETHER!”! It sums up this card perfectly with the little boy and his furry friends!

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I had so much fun creating my Peace on Earth Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls for the Shop@Home Christmas in July Expo that was on the weekend. This sweet stamp is called Holiday Friends. I went with a shabby chic distressed look using my distressing tool on all the papers. To add to this look, I also added Shabby White Embossing Enamel for sparkle and snow. I used my Marvy Snow Marker to create the puffed-up snow. My handmade poinsettias tie in the red colour of her dress and hat! Hope you like my PND Christmas in July card!

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here with my Chasing Butterflies Design Team Card for Rachelle Anne Miller Creative Studios using her sweet Chasing Butterflies Digital Stamp. I had a lot of fun creating this scene with all the wonderful layers and die cuts that make it up! There was a lot of dimensionals used to get the scene just the way I wanted. The bright colours of the card stock and Doodlebug Paper were perfect for such a happy carefree image! I can just see her running through the grass trying to catch a butterfly!

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here with my Christmas Cookies Design Team Card for Rachelle Anne Miller Creative Studios using the Christmas Baking Digital Stamp. One of my fondest memories of when I was little was making Christmas cookies with my mom. I loved to decorate them and, of course, eat them! I still make cookies each year but have limited them to only a few favourites. Otherwise, my waist wouldn’t like me! LOL!
This sweet image was so fun to colour with my Copic Markers and I thought the cookie cutter embellishments were perfect for my card! Doesn’t the Doodlebug paper with the holly on it look like the little girl’s apron! And of course, I had to have gingerbread people holding the sentiment which suites the card to a Christmas star!

For the first card, I used the adorable Elf Sewing Teddy Digital Stamp. I couldn’t resist using a thimble, scissors and bobbin for sewing embellishments. And check out that sweet bear button! I used Stitched Rectangle Dies, a stitched felt star…even the paper has stitches on it! Do you see a theme here? Lol! I added some sparkle with the red rhinestones and White Baker’s Twine with red metallic thread.

For my next card. I used Elf Painting Train Digital Stamp. Such a cute stamp with his toy train and cars! He was a lot of fun to match my colouring of the other elf! Of course, all of Santa’s Elves have to have the same uniform! I thought the train and train cars from the All Aboard Die Set from Local King Rubber Stamp were perfect for the card! Of course, you need stars and black rhinestones to decorate the train! I also added a copper snowflake with jingle bells and the same White Baker’s Twine with red metallic thread.

I love this sweet image with all the cute forest friends gathered around to listen to a story! The panels to the left are all the wonderful stories they are reading. Once Upon a Time…there was a ranger who confronted a dragon guarding his hoard. Once Upon a Time…there was a knight on a chivalrous quest. Or, maybe they are reading Jack and the Beanstalk as the vine travels to the clouds! This image just sparks my imagination! The sentiment is from a Kraftin Kimmie Stamp that I thought was perfect for these little forest friends! “We’ll be friends forever…the end!”

I have been wanting to create a Bendi Card forever and thought it would create a perfect scene for these cuties! I had so much fun creating this card! Today I am sharing a Congratulations Card that I created for a swap that used products from the new Annual Catalogue. This card with its sentiment would be perfect for all those recent graduates! I love the new Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set, especially the large sunflower!

For the sunflower, I used three markers, Mango Melody Light and Dark and Calypso Coral Light, for the petals. By adding a third colour, it creates more dimension and texture to what you are colouring. I used the Calypso Coral in the darkest of shadows that are indicated by the artist drawn lines. For the flower centre, I use Soft Suede Light and Dark, but for the Dark Suede, I dotted the marker to create texture that the artist has indicated with their dots. Let’s get started!

Instructions for Congratulations Card:
Fold the Whisper White Thick card stock in half to create the card base.
Emboss the Pear Pizzazz card stock with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
Stamp the large sunflower image from the bundle in the bottom-centre of the Whisper White piece.
Colour the sunflower using the Blends using the technique that I mentioned in the text above.
Die cut the sunflower out using the largest die from the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.
Stamp the sentiment in Pear Pizzazz on the other piece of Whisper White and punch it out using the Story Label Punch.
Die cut the square Soft Suede Card Stock with the outline of the sunflower die from the Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle.
Die cut 2 leaves in vellum from the same bundle.
Adhere the embossed Pear Pizzazz piece to the card base.
Adhere the Soft Suede strip to the Flowers For Every Season Designer Series Paper and centre on the card base.
Wrap the Linen Thread around the Stitched Nested piece and tie in a bow on the right side.
Using glue dots, adhere the leaves to the bottom right corner of the Stitched Nested piece.
Using glue dots, adhere the Soft Suede sunflower piece to the Stitched Nested piece.
Attach the sunflower piece using dimensionals to the card base.
Attached the sentiment using dimensionals.
Take one Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets and add it to a petal of the sunflower to make it look like dew.
