Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here with my Sweet Christmas Angels Cards for the Design Team of Rachelle Anne Miller Creative Studios using her cute Angels Christmas Digital Stamp. I had so much fun colouring these cuties that I ended up colouring two stamps! One with the traditional red, green and gold. The other one with soft pastel colours of pink, blue and gold. I had a This or That post of the coloured stamps earlier this week and was pleasantly surprised that they both were popular. Many people had a hard time choosing just one and so did I! So I created two cards with the same layout, just different papers and colour schemes.
This or That? Which Do You Pick?

For Technique Tuesday, I am sharing the Tip to Tip Blending Technique for my Let’s Gather Together Card using the Gather Together Bundle by Stampin’ Up! I love Fall and all the colours of the leaves that it brings! So, I thought the Tip to Tip would be perfect to showcase those colours! For my card, I create a frame using a Stitched Rectangle and the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper with the leaves “exploding” out of it. I used the Woodlands Embossing Folder as my base behind all the leaves “falling” from the trees. To tie in the Daffodil Delight colour, I used a strip of the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper and one of the leaves die cut and embossed. A strip of Copper Foil Paper and a scattering of Holiday Rhinestones Basic Jewels add a bit of shimmer to my card.
For part 4 of my colouring videos with Stampin’ Blends from my presentation, I am demonstrating the Tip to Tip Blending Technique. The other 3 parts are listed below at the end of this document.
Tip to Tip Blending Technique Chart
Tip to Tip Blending Technique
To combine two different coloured blends on an image, try the Tip to Tip Blending Technique. This gives you a smooth transition of colors and doesn’t end up looking all blotchy where the colors meet. I’ve chosen Calypso Coral and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends for my first leaf.
Stamp the image with Memento Ink.
Apply the Light Calypso Coral and Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends to the image. Meet somewhere in the middle with the colors – it doesn’t have to be neat.
With the Dark Calypso Coral and Dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blends, add a layer of color around the edge of the image.
Brush the tip of the Light Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends over the tip of the Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends to pick up some color. The Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends marker then acts as your brush to apply a mix of both colors to the center of the leaf. I kept working these blends together until I was happy with the transition where the colors meet.
To demonstrate that this Tip to Tip Technique can work with other colors, I’ve created leaves using Old Olive with Soft Suede and Daffodil Delight with Cherry Cobbler. Don’t worry about your markers being contaminated—all you need to do is run them over some scrap paper a few times and the nibs will clean themselves.

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here sharing my Happy Hanukkah Card! Did you see the cute new release by Paper Nest Dolls called Hanukkah Set? It comes with Mini Owen with Torah, Mini Emma with Challah, a menorah, a dreidel and the Star of David. I was so happy to see such cute Hanukkah images! They are so hard to find.
We have friends who have two little boys that I send cards to every year. So, I knew that I wanted to colour up two of the boys to represent them for my Happy Hanukkah Card. I can definitely see the younger one wanting a Torah scroll just like his big brother’s one! Lol!
I love the elegant combination of silver and blue together. So, I made them my colour scheme for my card with lots of silver accents! Since I didn’t have any Hanukkah paper, I created my own paper using a retired Stampin’ Up! stamp that I already had. It is quite striking with the shimmery silver Delicata ink on the Night of Navy card stock. For the center piece with the Menorah and Star of David, I created a sponged background of Night of Navy and Balmy Blue ink. I then splattered water and Silver Wink of Stella to add texture to it.

I am happy to share my Country Harvest Card that is using my colouring techniques that I recently presented to fellow demonstrators. For my card, I knew I wanted to use an oldie, but a goodie, the Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder! The In Good Taste Designer Series Paper has a photographic image of tiles that I thought would tie in nicely with the embossing folder and the country theme of my card. To further the country theme, I used the Denim Ribbon to transition between the DSP and the Brass Foil piece. I used the Brass Foil as an accent, but you could use one of the new Brushed Metallic Cardstock instead. To finish the card, I used two Antiqued Corners to set off the coloured image.
For Part 2 of my colouring with Stampin’ Blends from my presentation, I am showing the difference between colouring light to dark versus dark to light. For this demonstration, I used the jug from the Country Home Photopolymer Stamp Set. Some people prefer adding ink from light to dark creating a saturation of ink for easy blending. Others prefer to add ink from dark to light creating a lighter coloured image since you use less ink. The two most common ways to add ink are circling and flicking. Each technique produces a particular appearance and knowing how to use them will add depth and variation to your projects.

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! Do you ever create non-traditional coloured Christmas cards? I couldn’t resist colouring the sweet Holiday Gifts Avery Digital Stamp in non-traditional pinks and purples for My Merry & Bright Christmas Card. I always thought you can never have too much bling for a Christmas card! The sentiment pieces from the Doodlebug Chit Chat were a perfect complement to the card and don’t you just love the wooden present accent.

Today I am sharing with you my Cardinal Card using the Toile Christmas Bundle. I was asked to present my colouring techniques at Stamp-a-Rama, a local event for 100 participants, in October and this is one of the cards that I made for it. If you are interested, I have included a PDF of my notes from the event at the bottom of this post.
I coloured this beautiful cardinal with the no-lines technique. This technique uses a light colour, like Sahara Sand, to stamp the image. The lighter colour gives you a guideline for your colouring without the harsh black lines and makes the image more real and vibrant. Once stamped, I used a flicking technique with my Cherry Cobbler Light and Dark Blends to create a lot of texture. This technique is achieved by applying ink in quick, single strokes. The key to this inking technique is to flick the marker tip across the page to create a single stroke that goes from dark to light.
Holding the marker loosely, start a downward movement towards the paper
As the marker tip touches the paper, quickly move across the paper, bringing your hand up and away from the paper. This will apply more ink at the beginning of the stroke and less at the end.
You may need to turn the paper to accommodate the angle that is most comfortable for you.
Close-Up of my colouring of the cardinal in My Cardinal Card
This technique allows the individual feathers to stand out such as on the tail. Next, I used the Dark Smokey Slate to darken the shadows in strategic locations, such as his tail, his breast and wing, giving the bird depth.
Supplies:
Stamps: Toile Christmas Cling Stamp Set (150469)
Dies: Christmas Cardinal Dies (150640), Christmas Layers Dies (150654), Stitched Rectangle Dies (148551)
Inks: Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad (132708), Cherry Cobbler Classic Stampin’ Pad (147083), Sahara Sand Classic Stampin’ Pad (147117)
Paper: Whisper White (100730), Mossy Meadow (133676), Old Olive (100702), Night Before Christmas Designer Series Paper (150437)
Night Before Christmas Designer Series Paper: 5¼” x 4”
Whisper White: 2 x 4 ½” (cardinal), 2” x 3” (sentiment), 2 ½” x 4 ¼” (branch)
Instructions:
Fold the Mossy Meadow card stock in half.
Die cut the branch from the Christmas Layers Dies twice in opposite corners on the front of the Mossy Meadow card base.
Adhere the Night Before Christmas Designer Series Paper with snail to the back of the card front allowing the berries to peek through the die cut branches. This also allows the back of the DSP to show on the inside of the card creating visual interest.
Die cut the Old Olive card stock using the third largest Stitched Rectangle Die.
Emboss the Stitched Old Olive piece with the Woodland Embossing Folder.
Stamp the cardinal in Sahara Sand on Whisper White card stock.
Colour the cardinal using the flicking technique described above in Cherry Cobbler and Light Basic Black.
Use the Pumpkin Pie Blends for his beak and feet.
Use the Basic Black Blends for his mask on his face.
Using the cardinal from the Christmas Cardinal Dies, die cut the cardinal out.
Stamp in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink the branches on Whisper White card stock.
Colour the leaves, branches and berries with Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler Light and Dark Blends
Using the branch die from the Christmas Cardinal Dies, die cut the branch out.
Add Shimmery Crystal Effects to the berries on the branch and set aside to dry.
Stamp the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler on Whisper White card stock and die cut it with the matching die from the Christmas Cardinal Dies.
The Stitched Old Olive piece is popped up with dimensionals.
Using snail adhere the branch to the Old Olive piece.

Winter Reindeer Card Using the Snow Globe Scenes Dies
Today I am sharing with you my Winter Reindeer Card that has a unique twist on the Snow Globe Scene Dies. It is using the dies not to create a snow globe, but a vignette of a winter scene. Instructions:
Fold the Very Vanilla Thick card stock in half.
Emboss the Mossy Meadow with the Woodland Embossing Folder.
Die cut the Copper Foil with the dome die from the Snow Globe Scenes Dies.
Take the reindeer die and place in the center of the Copper Foil that you just cut and die cut it out. This is a great trick to save paper.
Die cut the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP with the dome die from the Snow Globe Scenes Dies.
Die cut the Mossy Meadow with the Tree die from the Snow Globe Scenes Dies.
Next, die cut the Very Vanilla with the In The Woods Dies to create a snowbank.
Add the strip of Copper Foil to the base of the Very Vanilla snowbank.
Using snail adhesive, adhere the Night of Navy card stock to the Thick Very Vanilla card base and the Embossed Mossy Meadow to the Night of Navy.
Adhere with snail the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP to the copper foil leaving a small border at the top and sides.
Using glue dots, adhere the Mossy Meadow trees to the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP.
The reindeer is popped up with dimensionals in front of the Mossy Meadow trees.
Attach the scene to the Mossy Meadow with snail adhesive.
Attach the larger Very Vanilla/Copper Classic Weave Ribbon to the snowbank wrapping around the back and securing with snail adhesive.
Tie the smaller Very Vanilla/Copper Classic Weave Ribbon in a knot to the larger ribbon on the left side of the snowbank. Trim the tails.

My Cute Wooden Ornaments using the Snowman Season and the Nature’s Beauty Stamp Sets.
Today I am sharing with you my cute wooden ornaments that I made using the Snowman Season Photopolymer Stamp Set and the beautiful Nature’s Beauty Cling Stamp Set. I coloured these for a presentation on how to use Blends that I did recently. It’s amazing what you can colour with your Blends besides paper! I have seen Gold Metallic-Edge Ribbon, Silver Metallic-Edge Ribbon, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Pearl Basic Jewels, Tags & Feathers Elements even china plates! Wouldn’t that be a great idea to make your own Christmas plates! The ornaments would be perfect to give as a Christmas gift or even to dress up a present. The process is a very simple one and you get a wow effect!

Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad (132708)
Accessories: Wooden disks (these I bought from a friend, but you can get them Amazon), Very Vanilla/Copper Classic Weave Ribbon (150394), Pool Party Stampin’ Blends Markers Combo Pack (144605), Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends Markers Combo Pack (144599), Cajun Craze Combo Pack Stampin’ Blends (147931), Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends Markers Combo Pack (147273), Real Red Combo Pack Stampin’ Blends (147935), Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Markers Combo Pack (145058), Stampin’ Blends Color Lifter (144608 ), Something to hang the ornaments (I used some Stampin’ Up! retired jute twine), Drill to make the holes to thread the twine
Measurements:
Large Ornament: 3”
Small Ornament: 2 ½“
Very Vanilla/Copper Classic Weave Ribbon: 12”
Jute Twine: 10”
Instructions:
Stamp the image in Memento Black Ink.
Using the Blends colour your images. Note: they do tend to bleed more on the wood. So, be careful to stop before you touch the edges of image. If you do go outside the lines, the Color Lifter works well.
Once you are finished colouring your ornament, thread your twine through a hole that you made and tie into a knot.
Tie the Very Vanilla/Copper Classic Weave Ribbon into a bow on top of the ornament.
