Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! Spring has finally arrived here! So, I am sharing my Happiness is Homegrown Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls using Little Chick Emma.
The Details of My Happiness is Homegrown Card
Don’t you just love Emma in her patchwork dress! So, sweet! I coloured this cutie with my Copic markers in Spring colours to match my papers.
For my card, I decided to use the Simple Stories paper since it had a farm theme, and I loved the soft colours! I had some scraps with chickens left over from a previous project, but not a lot. So, I created two squares and placed them in opposite corners on the blue/green polka dotted card base. Great way to use scraps!
Next, I added a die cut white fence to add some interest to the background.
The sentiment and banner were from the matching Simple Stories Bits & Pieces. The needlepoint look was perfect for Emma with her patchwork dress! An adhesive-backed pink heart on the banner mirrored the pinks in Emma’s dress.
Finally, for embellishments, I added more adhesive-backed hearts and flowers in addition to Star Dust Stickles to the hearts on Emma’s dress.

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing My Fishing Birthday Card using the Gone Fishing Bundle which includes the Gone Fishing Stamp Set and the Gone Fishing Dies by Stampin’ Up! I am so happy that this set is carrying over to the new Annual Catty!
The Details of My Fishing Birthday Card
This past weekend was my Father-in-law’s birthday and I decided to create a fun pop-up card with this bundle! I had a lot of fun decorating my tackle box and the front of the card!
Front of My Card
For the front of my card, I decided to use the tool box frame die and cut different pieces of DSP that represented my fishing theme. I used 4 different pieces of DSPs to fill the openings and the frame was from one of them being turned over.
Close Up of Front of Card
For the sentiment, I stamped the “Let’s celebrate you!” from the Celebrate with You Tags Stamp Set in Misty Moonlight, die cut it with the Nested Essential Dies and matted it with a piece of Pebbled Path. The red/white baker’s twine was from my stash which I tied in a fun knot.
The die cut fishing rod from the retired Rugged Icon Dies was perfect for the theme of my card! So, I couldn’t resist using it and die cut it in the Galvanized Metallic Paper. I also cut it a second time so that I would have a Real Red fish to add interest.
A few fishing lures die cut in silver foil and a round float finished off the front of my card.
Inside of My Card
I had a lot of fun creating the inside of my card with the fun pop-up! If you want to learn how to make the pop-up mechanism, Rachel Tessman has a video.
Inside of Card
Once I built my tackle box, I stamped and decorated it with the different pieces that come with the Gone Fishing Dies including another round float, lures, hooks, and all paraphernalia that a fisherman may need! Lol!
Close Up of Tackle Box
For the sentiment, I stamped the “Happy Birthday” from the Celebrate with You Tags Stamp Set in Misty Moonlight on Very Vanilla card stock and placed it on the top half of the inside of the card.

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing my alternative Fancy Fold Step Card using the March 2024Memorable Meadows Paper Pumpkin. I have made this fun fold several times for different recipients, and it’s always Wowed them!
This Kit makes 9 cards of which I made three. I always like to make one set of the cards in the kit and then play with it to see what alternatives I can design.
Cards from March 2024 Memorable Meadows Paper Pumpkin Kit
I made a total of nine cards with six being alternatives. I had a lot of fun playing with this kit! My alternatives included a bridge card, a faux-centre step card, a z-fold card, a fancy fold step card and two others.
My Other Alternative Cards
The Details of My Fancy Fold Step Card
For this fun-fold card, I used 3 card bases front and back from the Paper Pumpkin Kit. I loved that the card bases were printed with a continual scene from front to back! With some careful measuring, this made it easy to create my card.
Front of Card
To decorate the front of my card, I used the arch from the Garden Meadow Dies and one of the sheets from the Meandering Meadows 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper that had some Daffodil Delight on it. I knew I wanted to use the daffodil die from The Love of Spring Dies to decorate my inside. So, I wanted to bring this colour throughout my card. The Radiating Stitches Die was a perfect backdrop for my arched focal point!
Front of My Card
I used the Adhesive-backed iridescent embellishments, the wooden tree, and some Adhesive-Backed Dragonflies & Birds to decorate my card front.
Inside of card
For the larger panels, I used the same card base for the panels that when folded are side by side. For example, I used the larger tree card base for the two front panels that are shown when the card is close. Then, I used the smaller panoramic card base for the two large inside panels. I trimmed the left and right card base sides at 2 ½” wide making sure I used the matching panels when they were adhered. I saved the scored pieces for the large squares. Luckily, the decorations hid the score lines well.
First Opening of Inside of Card
Next, I used the daisy card base for six of the small squares. I did not mat these since the squares are already so small. Again, I made sure to cut them so that they matched when laid down in a row. The centre square was left over from the scraps.
Second Opening of Inside of Card
To decorate my card, I stamped the sentiments in Garden Green on the different precut pieces with gold foil. I layered the leaves and daffodils behind the two inside my card using the vellum pieces that come in the kit to accent them.
Third Opening of Inside of Card
More adhesive-backed iridescent embellishments, Adhesive-Backed Dragonflies & Birds and two Paper Butterfly Accents were used to decorate the inside.

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Ruby Bookmark Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Conie Fong Art & Design using Dog with Bone and Candy Cane Bundle. This Bundle is so versatile! I used the Candy Cane Dog for a Christmas tag and now I’m using Dog with Bone for a bookmark! I will include a photo of my Christmas tag at the end of this post.
This Bundle includes 4 images:
Title 1 and 2: Candy Cane Dog (PNG/JPG Format)
Title 3 and 4: Dog with Bone (PNG/JPG Format)
The Details of My Ruby Bookmark Card
I made this bookmark card for a friend’s birthday who has a dog called Ruby. So, I coloured this cutie with my Copic markers to look like her dog.
My Ruby Bookmark
I thought it would be fun to give my friend a bookmark that she could use, but still wanted to create a card. So, I created a mini slimline card with a pocket on the front in which to slip the bookmark. I love how the puppy is peeking out of the pocket! Once I coloured this cutie, I had a lot of fun decorating my card and bookmark.
Bookmark in Pocket
For my card, I used the Slimline Tag dies from Marianne Design to create a pocket on the front. I decorated it with the puppy paws and hearts DSP. The sentiment was printed on my computer, punched out and placed with a doily behind it. I get a hoot out of the “Hot dog! It’s your birthday” from the Puppy Love paper! So, I placed it over the birthday part of the circular sentiment.
Bookmark Pulled Out
For my bookmark, I used the smaller Slimline Tags dies with the words and hearts from the Puppy Love paper. The doily gave a perfect backdrop to focus on my puppy! The puppy paws adhesive Gems added some fun bling. The tassel was from Christmas, but I thought that pop of colour was perfect for my colour scheme. So, I remove the Christmas charm and add some dog appropriate charms instead and tied it to my bookmark with some twine from my stash.

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing my Light the Way Card using the Lighting the Way Stamp Set and the Lighting the Way Dies by Stampin’ Up! These are both set to retire end of this month. So, get yours while you can!
The Details of My Light the Way Card
This card was created for a swap, and I thought a split panel card with the lantern connecting the two pieces would be fun! I used a Window Sheet for the transparent window to give added stability.
For my card, I went with the Stargazing Designer Series Paper for the top half for the sky and the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper for the bottom half for the ground. I die cut the fireflies in White Glimmer Specialty Paper and brushes some Crushed Curry to their tails to make them glow. Next, I embossed a trail of lights in the wake of the firefly on the Stargazing Designer Series Paper.
The lantern was die cut twice. Once in the Holographic Paper for the front and again in Basic Black for the back to give the lantern a finished look from inside. I added some vellum to the inside of the lantern on which I stamped the fire glow in Crushed Curry. A bow of Linen Thread added to the top of the lantern finished it off.
Tip: for the sentiment, adhere the Basic White piece inside and then using the Night of Navy card base pieces for placement, stamp the sentiment before decorating them.
Finally, to add a bit more magical shimmer, I used the Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels scattered around my lantern. These are also retiring. So, make sure you get them before they are gone.

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! Who’s ready for Easter? There is always time for one last Easter tag! So, I am sharing My Happy Easter Tag as my Design Team Inspiration for Paper Nest Dolls using Egg Coloring Lulu.
The Details of My Happy Easter Tag
I coloured this cutie with my Copic markers in Easter colours to match my Easter paper and card stock.
For my tag, I decided to use several Easter dies including a pink Easter Egg and the reverse Happy Easter words. I also added a purple floral border behind Lulu to make her pop and give some visual interest behind her. I used paper snips to trim the edges of the border piece to fit my round corners of my tag.
Next, I went with a Polka Dot Tulle ribbon since it reminded me of Easter tulle. The Happy Easter ribbon in purple was a perfect colour for the theme of my card! I used some Bermuda Bay Baker’s Twine to tie this all together.
Finally, to add some sparkle, I used Star Dust Stickles on Lulu’s heart on her smock and Wink of Stella on her egg. As well, a scattering of Glossy Dots that matched my colour scheme were placed around the sentiment.
Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing My Field Notes Journal using the Nature’s Sweetness Suite Collection which includes the Notes of Nature Bundle, the Lovely & Sweet Bundle, the Nature’s Sweetness 12” x 12” Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Adhesive-Backed Cork Rounds all by Stampin’ Up! As I was exploring this gorgeous Suite, I ended up making 2 cards. I used this card for a swap, and I plan to share the other card at another time.
The Details of My Field Notes Journal
For my card, I thought it would be fun to create a distressed field journal of sorts for my card front with one of the pages “ripped out” filled with notes using the Notes of Nature Stamp Set. I even added a Pecan Pie tab at the top and the die cut holes like a spiral notebook.
First, I stamped the Field Notes in Pecan Pie and added some distressing with the grunge stamp in Pebbled Path on the Basic White “page”. To add a worn look to the “page”, I used a Blending Brush to brush some Pecan Pie ink along the edges.
Next, I stamped the crosshatch stamp in Pebbled Path in opposite corners on the card base for a tone-on-tone look. I thought that the Pecan Pie mat looked like the back of a leather covered notebook.
The sentiment was stamped in Pecan Pie, and I used a Pebbled Path label to make it pop from the “page”. The Basic White piece was also brushed with Pecan Pie ink for that worn look.
I love the beautiful Nature’s Sweetness Specialty Designer Series Paper with its gold accents. So, I decided to use different strips with the gold on my base. To match these strips, I die cut leaves in gold foil to give it unexpected shimmer to the Field Notes “pages”.
The finishing touch was a scattering of Adhesive-Backed Cork Rounds that come in the Nature’s Sweetness Suite Collection.
Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! Easter is just around the corner. So, I am sharing My Easter Egg Hunt Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls using Lulu with Easter Basket.
The Details of My Easter Egg Hunt Card
I coloured this cutie with my Copic markers in Easter colours to match my Easter paper. I just love these soft colours!
For my card, I decided to use the gorgeous Tulip Dies as a backdrop for Lulu. I just bought these dies and was eager to use them! So, I went with white card stock and a soft pink that has some texture on it so as not to detract from Lulu. The sentiment “Easter Egg Hunt” was from the Welcome Easter Paper Pad and perfect for my theme.
To decorate my card, I added die cut Easter eggs that matched the colours of Lulu’s eggs in her basket. Next, I added several Brass Butterflies floating from the focal point.
Finally, to add some sparkle, I used Wink of Stella on Lulu’s eggs, hair bow and basket bow.
Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing my Kiddin’ Around Birthday Cards using the Kiddin’ Around Bundle and the Just Kiddin’ 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper by Stampin’ Up! I am pleased to see that the Kiddin’ Around Stamp Set and the Kiddin’ Around Dies are carrying over to the new Catty! Yay!
I was honoured to be asked to present my colouring techniques using Stampin’ Blends to several demonstrators at a Stampin’ Up! Play Date that was organized this past weekend by my team leaders. They asked me to demonstrate colouring people with Stampin’ Blends and the Kiddin’ Around Stamp Set was perfect for this!
The Details of My Kiddin’ Around Birthday Cards
For my Kiddin’ Around Birthday Cards, I thought it would be fun to use the same centre-step fun fold for all my cards with slight variations on decorating them. I only demonstrated the colouring of the little girl, but I decided to colour all the kiddies using the different Natural Tones Stampin’ Blends to give a good variation of skin tones for my presentation.
My Presentation Card
For the card that I presented, we used the Stampin’ Blends Medium Combo for her skin, Basic Black for her hair, Fresh Freesia, and Daffodil Delight for her dress. We created a fold in the centre of her dress by adding a small Fresh Freesia triangle to add interest. To add texture to her hair, we left some white highlights which we then coloured with the bullet tip of the Light Basic Black. I find that the felt tip is always darker than the bullet tip. Thus making it great to add a third tone. You could also use the Smoky Slate for that third tone. We used Light Smoky Slate and Light Fresh Freesia for her mouth.
My Presentation Card
For her paper with her sun drawing, we used Light Smoky Slate along the top under her hand, left side and bottom of the page. Next, we used the Color Lifter along the edges of Smoky Slate to soften the edge and push the ink back into the shadows of the paper. We let that dry before adding the Daffodil Delight since we wanted control of the ink and for it not to spread. We added Wink of Stella to the sun.
Close Up of Girl
The Building of the Card
The sentiment was stamped in Fresh Freesia and die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies.
To make her pop from the card, the Berry Burst card stock was embossed with the Splatters Embossing Folder and placed behind her. Perfect for my arts and crafts theme.
Finally, to match my dress colour, I went with a Fresh Freesia card base and followed the measurements in the template that I have included at the bottom of this post.
As a finishing touch to all my cards, I added some Iridescent Foil Gems near the sentiment on each card.
Supplies:
Stamps/Bundles/Dies: Kiddin’ Around Bundle (162839), Stylish Shapes Dies (159183)

My Sailors Card
For my next card, I went with three different skin tones to show the diversity of the Natural Tones Stampin’ Blends. I used Medium Combo for the girl, Medium Light for the baby and Medium Deep for the boy.
My Sailors Card
To achieve the curly hair for the boy, I coloured his hair in Light Basic Black. Once it was dry, I added Dark Basic Black with little “c” squiggles all over but left some of the Light Basic Black showing through. The shadows on his paper hat were achieved the same way with the Light Smoky Slate as the girl’s paper above.
Close Up of the Three Kids
This girl’s hair was done with the same method as the first girl that I presented.
The other Stampin’ Blends colours that I used on this card were pulled from the DSP. They consisted of were Pool Party, Azure Afternoon, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist, Fresh Freesia and Poppy Parade. Wink of Stella was added to the heart on the girl’s top.
For this card, I went with a Pool Party card base and used the dies from the Give It a Whirl Dies for the Basic White clouds on the side panels which I trimmed with my Paper Snips.

My Wizard Card
For my last card, I used the Stampin’ Blends Deep Combo for his skin tone.
My Wizard Card
To make his skin pop, I went with Lemon Lime Twist Blend Combo with Daffodil Delight for his hat and Azure Afternoon with Daffodil Delight for his robes. The bunny slippers were Smoky Slate with Fresh Freesia for the ears.
Close Up of My Wizard Boy
For this card, I went with a Lemon Lime Twist card base and used the castle dies that come in the Bundle to help ground my little guy. I thought that the DSP behind the castle looked like trees and gave the perfect backdrop to my castle.

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Birthday Celebration Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Conie Fong Art & Design using the sweet Winter Wendy. It was my birthday a while back and I decided to colour this cutie and make a card to celebrate it!
The Details of My Birthday Celebration Card
Since I used this stamp for my birthday card, I decided to colour Wendy to look like me when I had long hair. So, I pulled out my Copic markers and gave her brown hair and eyes. I picked the colours for her clothes from my paper choice. The pink was a bit tricky to colour, but I discovered by adding E04 to the RVs, it allowed the shadows of the pinks to match my paper.
For my card, I decided to create a mini slimline to match the shape of the large snowflake die. I thought it would be fun having her pop out of this die cut snowflake opening with its matching snowy paper. I added a few die cut Pool Party snowflakes to bring out the blue/green in my colouring.
The sentiment “Celebrating You Today” summed up my birthday theme perfectly! It was stamped in black and die cut with the matching flag die.
To add sparkle, I coloured rhinestones with my Copic markers to match my colour choice. I also used Star Dust Stickles on the Pool Party snowflakes and on her pompom.

Decade Doll Collection by Paper Nest Dolls
The Details of My Favorite Song Card
I had coloured this stamp with my Copic markers a while back…in fact, since I liked her so much, I coloured her twice at the time! Lol! So, I decided to finally get this one onto a card especially since I bought the perfect Walkman dies by My Favorite Things!
For my card, I thought that the Walkman would make a fun shaker. So, I built my Walkman using the dies and even added four layers to the red foam ear pieces to give them some dimension! I used a Window Sheet for where my shaker sequins would go. Once that was built, I added Foam Adhesive Strips between the top and the cassette paper to enclose my sequins. I thought that the cassette paper was a great backing for my Walkman! The skates and disco ball paper behind my focal point was perfect for my theme!
The sentiment was from a retired Stampin’ Up! Stamp Set, but you could easily type this out on your computer and printing it. It was stamped in black ink and die cut out using the Stitched Rectangles.
To add some sparkle to the card, I used Stickles on Ellie’s pompoms on her skates. For the musical notes, I used holographic paper to give them an iridescent look! Very hip for the 80’s. Lol! The final touch was adding Glossy Accents to her Walkman case.

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Purr-Fect Day Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Conie Fong Art & Design using the new release Cat With Balloons. Isn’t he just the cutest floating with his balloons!
The Details of My Purr-Fect Day Card
For my card, I decided to create a slimline slider card so that the cat looked like he was floating up as the mechanism was pulled!
So, I created a scene with the slimline clouds die from Whimsy and the stitched sun from the Spring Showers Dies. Next, I layered the Sunny Days Designer Series Paper behind it to add more clouds. Once that was done, I added a house that I fussy cut from the P13 paper and layered a few stitched hills in front.
To keep my card simple since I didn’t want to detract from the slider, I added a sentiment die cut with a stitched rectangle.
Now that the front of the card was done, it was time to create the mechanism for the slider using the Slimline Pull Tab Dies by Heffy Doodle. Tip: I used the Foam Adhesive Strips by Stampin’ Up! to create enough dimension between the front of the card and the card base to help the slider mechanism to move smoothly.
Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here to share my Go Boldly Birthday Card using The Next Space Explorers Stamp Set by Kindred Stamps! It was my brother’s birthday recently and he loved Star Trek Next Gen growing up! He loved it so much that one year we even had a Next Gen murder mystery birthday party for him! Lol!
The Details of My Go Boldly Birthday Card
For my card, I wanted to include all the characters on his card. So, I went with a fun fold that is like a booklet where you open each page to a new layout! I have included a video at the end to show it in action.
First Page of Booklet Card
But first, I coloured all the characters with my Copic markers and cut them out with my Brother Scan n’ Cut. Once that was done, I built my booklet using the template that I have included at the end of this post.
Next, was decorating the pages. The Stargazing Designer Series Paper by Stampin’ Up! was perfect for my space theme. I even used the Reach for the Stars Dies by Stampin’ Up! to create my ringed planet with Holographic DSP for the rings.
Second Page of Booklet Card
I used two sentiments from The Next Space Explorers stamp set and one with the Star Trek Symbol from the Space Explorers stamp set to fill the pages facing the characters.
Since the card was so bulky already, the only embellishments I added were a scattering of Holographic die cut stars throughout the booklet.

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing my Tool Time Father’s Day Card using the Trusty Tools Bundle and the Trusty Toolbox 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper by Stampin’ Up! I love that the Trusty Tools Dies can cut out the tools from the Trusty Toolbox 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper which is free during Sale-a-Bration!
For my card, I decided to create a fun free standing pop-up card to display the die cut tools from the DSP on a pegboard! I made this card for a swap and used different tools from the DSP like the hammer, paint brush and wrenches while others, I fussy cut out. The thing that is great about these cards is that they fold flat to be mailed, but the recipient has that Wow! when they pop it up!
Card Folded Flat for Mailing
The Details of My Tool Time Father’s Day Card
For my pegboard, the die didn’t run the full length of the Crushed Curry card stock. So, I placed the die at the top leaving a small border. Next, I used liquid glue to adhere it to the Basic Black piece with a Basic White piece on the back for the message. I stamped the nuts and screw in Gray Granite in the corners of the Basic White piece to add interest. For the tools, I adhered them with liquid glue, as well since I wanted the pegboard piece to be as a flat as possible to allow it to slide.
Next, I scored and cut the Poppy Parade piece according to the instructions below. I have created a template that you can download at the end of this post.
Side View Of Card
Once that was done, I inserted the pegboard through cut and lined it up with the bottom of the folded Pappy Parade piece. Then I adhere it in place and then glue the other side of the bottom to it. This will create the pop-up mechanism.
To decorate my “work table”, I used Gray Granite strips embossed with the Metal Plate Embossing Folder to make it look industrial. The pencil and measuring tape were fussy cut out and laid down like they were just set down. The silver piece of Holographic Trio Specialty Paper was perfect for my nuts and screw to give them a metallic look.
The sentiment was stamped in Black with a trio of Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots to add to my masculine theme.

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! Happy Valentine’s Day! I am sharing My Puppy Valentine Card using Puppy Love Stamp Set by Kindred Stamps that I used for my Hubby’s Valentine card! We love Disney and the Lady and the Tramp movie is a favourite of ours! So, when I saw this stamp set, I knew I would use it for his card.
The Details of My Puppy Valentine Card
For my card, I decided to make a mini slimline card to match my Falling Hearts Etched Metal Die by Photo Play. So, I used the Flirty Flamingo hearts paper from the Most Adored Specialty Designer Series Paper by Stampin’ Up! with this die. This DSP is free during Sale-a-Bration 2024 and is perfect for those Valentine cards with its hearts and gold accents! I also used a solid Real Red plaid piece from this DSP as a base peeking through the hearts and extended it beyond the die cut Falling Hearts to create a mat.
Since I had the Candy Hearts Dies out already out from my other cards, I decided to use them again! Two hearts were clustered around the sentiment from Conie Fong Art & Design and the other two hearts with a heart doily above the puppies.
The only embellishments that I added were some Red Rhinestones scattered to add sparkle.
