Pressed Petals Card

My Pressed Petal Card
My Pressed Petal Card

Today I am sharing with you my beautiful Pressed Petals Card that I made for a friend’s birthday using the Pressed Petals Suite. I love how the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper has photographic images of real pressed petals. So, I thought it would be appropriate to have a piece of vellum overlay like you would when you pressed real flowers in a book.

For the beautiful flower, I used the Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape to peel-and-stick flower petals together. What a unique and beautiful product! One tip is to use the Embossing Buddy on the back of the petals once you have created your flower. This will alleviate any stickiness that remains from the washi tape. I used the Perennial Essence Floral Centers for the centre of my flower, but I wanted it to match the centres of the flowers on the DSP. So, I dabbed it onto my Early Espresso Ink Pad to make it dark brown before adding it to my flower. A Mossy Meadow leaf die cut from the Wild Rose Dies completes the flower.

I couldn’t resist making a double bow with the Mossy Meadow Linen Thread from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack and some Linen Thread to string a leaf from the Bird Ballad Trinkets. A strip of the other washi tape from the Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape and a piece of Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim line the top of the card. A scattering of pearls adds a nice finishing touch!

Stampin’ Up! Retiring In-Colors Swap Card

My Stampin' Up! Retiring In-Colors Swap Card
Stampin’ Up! Retiring In-Colors Swap Card

I would like to share with you a swap card I made recently using Stampin’ Up!’s retiring In-Colors Berry Burst, Powder Pink and Lemon Lime Twist. I will be sad to see these colours retire! I also used the Needle & Thread Photopolymer Bundle to create this beautiful card. As a result, this card is a creative master piece.

First of all, this card features a base in Berry Burst measuring 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ folded in half to create a card 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. Next, I used a layer of Whisper White 4″ x 5 1/4″. Powder Pink measuring 3 3/4″ x 5″ creates the next layer which is die cut twice with the floral pin hole die.

The largest circle is die cut from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies on a piece of Whisper White card stock. I also stamped the largest flower in Powder Pink, the trio of flowers in Lemon Lime Twist and the butterflies in Berry Burst. The corresponding Berry Burst scallop die was layered under the stamped circle.

In addition, the large flower was stamped on a separate piece of whisper White and die cut with the Needlepoint Elements Framelits Dies. The Lemon Lime Twist leaves were also die cut from the Framelits.

Finally, the Berry Burst 3/8″ (1 Cm) Mini Ruffled Ribbon and some Rhinestone Basic Jewels add some elegant to this card.

Hope you liked my Retiring In-Colors Swap Card!
