Snow Family Design Team Card

My Snow Family Design Team Card
My Snow Family Design Team Card

It’s Laurie here with My Snow Family Design Team Card for Rachelle Anne Miller Creative Studios using her sweet Snowman Family Christmas Digital Stamp.

I knew that I wanted to colour the family as a Momma Snowman and her little girl. I pulled the colours from the bright and cheery Doodlebug Winter Wonderland Paper Pad. Don’t you just love Doodlebug! Of course, you have to have lots of glitter when you are making a snowman card! In fact, I have it everywhere…on the card, on me, on my craft table! LOL! I dabbed some glue in the sky and on the ground and sprinkle glitter all over to create my snowy scene. I love the Frosty border and the snowflake die cuts from the Sparkle Glimmer Paper. The blue gems really glitter as well! This card is so pretty and sparkly in person!

Sweet Christmas Angels Cards

My Sweet Angels Cards
My Sweet Christmas Angels Cards

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here with my Sweet Christmas Angels Cards for the Design Team of Rachelle Anne Miller Creative Studios using her cute Angels Christmas Digital Stamp. I had so much fun colouring these cuties that I ended up colouring two stamps! One with the traditional red, green and gold. The other one with soft pastel colours of pink, blue and gold. I had a This or That post of the coloured stamps earlier this week and was pleasantly surprised that they both were popular. Many people had a hard time choosing just one and so did I! So I created two cards with the same layout, just different papers and colour schemes.

My Merry & Bright Card Using Holiday Gifts Avery from Paper Nest Dolls

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! Do you ever create non-traditional coloured Christmas cards? I couldn’t resist colouring the sweet Holiday Gifts Avery Digital Stamp in non-traditional pinks and purples for My Merry & Bright Christmas Card. Wouldn’t this stamp in these colours be a great winter birthday too! For this card, I added lots of bling with the glimmer paper snowflakes and snow bank and a ton of rhinestones. I always thought you can never have too much bling for a Christmas card! The sentiment pieces from the Doodlebug Chit Chat were a perfect complement to the card and don’t you just love the wooden present accent.

My Peace on Earth Card for Paper Nest Dolls
My Peace on Earth Card for Paper Nest Dolls

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I had so much fun creating my Peace on Earth Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls for the Shop@Home Christmas in July Expo that was on the weekend. This sweet stamp is called Holiday Friends. I went with a shabby chic distressed look using my distressing tool on all the papers. To add to this look, I also added Shabby White Embossing Enamel for sparkle and snow. I used my Marvy Snow Marker to create the puffed-up snow. My handmade poinsettias tie in the red colour of her dress and hat! Hope you like my PND Christmas in July card!

My Christmas Cookies Design Team Card

My Christmas Cookies Design Team Card
My Christmas Cookies Design Team Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here with my Christmas Cookies Design Team Card for Rachelle Anne Miller Creative Studios using the Christmas Baking Digital Stamp. One of my fondest memories of when I was little was making Christmas cookies with my mom. I loved to decorate them and, of course, eat them! I still make cookies each year but have limited them to only a few favourites. Otherwise, my waist wouldn’t like me! LOL!

This sweet image was so fun to colour with my Copic Markers and I thought the cookie cutter embellishments were perfect for my card! Doesn’t the Doodlebug paper with the holly on it look like the little girl’s apron! And of course, I had to have gingerbread people holding the sentiment which suites the card to a Christmas star!

Christmas in July

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here with my Christmas in July Design Team Cards for Paper Nest Dolls! You get two cards for the price of one in this post! I love making cards for Christmas in July! It’s a good way for me to get a head start on all the Christmas cards that I make each year and what better way than with these cuties! Who else loves making cards for Christmas in July?

————————–

For the first card, I used the adorable Elf Sewing Teddy Digital Stamp. I couldn’t resist using a thimble, scissors and bobbin for sewing embellishments. And check out that sweet bear button! I used Stitched Rectangle Dies, a stitched felt star…even the paper has stitches on it! Do you see a theme here? Lol! I added some sparkle with the red rhinestones and White Baker’s Twine with red metallic thread.

————————–

For my next card. I used Elf Painting Train Digital Stamp. Such a cute stamp with his toy train and cars! He was a lot of fun to match my colouring of the other elf! Of course, all of Santa’s Elves have to have the same uniform! I thought the train and train cars from the All Aboard Die Set from Local King Rubber Stamp were perfect for the card! Of course, you need stars and black rhinestones to decorate the train! I also added a copper snowflake with jingle bells and the same White Baker’s Twine with red metallic thread.

Yuletide Cheer Card

My Yuletide Cheer Card using the Frosted Foliage Bundle
My Yuletide Cheer Card using the Frosted Foliage Bundle

I was asked to provide a recipe for my Yuletide Cheer Card from my Christmas Card Clinic. So, I thought I would share it here. It uses the Frosted Foliage Bundle with the beautiful snowflake filigree frame in Silver Glimmer Paper. The Silvery Shimmer Delicata Metallic Ink Pad adds a subtle shimmer to the card base and the sentiment. The delicate images and warm sentiment will light up the season for those you love.

Supplies:

Bundle:  Frosted Foliage Bundle (153029)

Inks: Night Of Navy Classic Stampin’ Pad (147110), Silvery Shimmer Delicata Metallic Ink Pad

Paper: Night Of Navy (100867), Vellum (101856), Silver Glimmer Paper (146960), Whisper White (100730)

Accessories:  Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon (150446), Bone Folder (102300), Paper Snips (103579 ), SNAIL Adhesive (104332), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430), Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755), Mini Glue Dots (103683)

Measurements:

  • Night Of Navy: 8 ½” x 5 ½”; scored at 4 ¼”
  • Vellum: 5 ¼” x 4”
  • Silver Glimmer Paper: 4 ¼” x 5”
  • Whisper White: 2 pieces – 2 ¾” x 3” and 5 ¼” x 4” (for inside)
  • Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon: 3”

Instructions:

  1. Fold the Night Of Navy card stock in half to create the card base
  2. Stamp randomly the berries from the Frosted Foliage Cling Stamp Set in Silvery Shimmer Delicata Metallic Ink Pad on the front of the Night of Navy card base. Set aside to dry.
  3. Stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy on the smaller piece of Whisper White.
  4. Next, stamp the berries twice from the Frosted Foliage Cling Stamp Set in Silvery Shimmer Delicata on the sentiment piece so that they overlap the sentiment. Set aside to dry.
  5. Die cut the Silver Glimmer Paper with the snowflake frame from the Frosted Frames Dies.
  6. Die cut the sentiment with the stitched square from the Frosted Frames Dies.
  7. Adhere the vellum to the Night of Navy card base with snail by adding it to the middle of the card base so that the sentiment piece will cover the snail.
  8. Add the Silver Glimmer Paper frame to the sentiment with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  9. Using glue dots, fold the Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon in half and adhere to bottom corner of the sentiment piece. Trim the ribbon with Paper Snips.
  10. Using dimensionals, adhere the sentiment piece to the vellum.
  11. Adhere the larger piece of Whisper White card stock to the inside of card.

My Cardinal Card

My Cardinal Card using the Toile Christmas Bundle
My Cardinal Card using the Toile Christmas Bundle

Today I am sharing with you my Cardinal Card using the Toile Christmas Bundle. I was asked to present my colouring techniques at Stamp-a-Rama, a local event for 100 participants, in October and this is one of the cards that I made for it. If you are interested, I have included a PDF of my notes from the event at the bottom of this post.

I coloured this beautiful cardinal with the no-lines technique. This technique uses a light colour, like Sahara Sand, to stamp the image. The lighter colour gives you a guideline for your colouring without the harsh black lines and makes the image more real and vibrant. Once stamped, I used a flicking technique with my Cherry Cobbler Light and Dark Blends to create a lot of texture. This technique is achieved by applying ink in quick, single strokes. The key to this inking technique is to flick the marker tip across the page to create a single stroke that goes from dark to light.

  1. Holding the marker loosely, start a downward movement towards the paper
  2. As the marker tip touches the paper, quickly move across the paper, bringing your hand up and away from the paper. This will apply more ink at the beginning of the stroke and less at the end.
  3. You may need to turn the paper to accommodate the angle that is most comfortable for you.
Close-Up of my colouring of the cardinal in My Cardinal Card
Close-Up of my colouring of the cardinal in My Cardinal Card

This technique allows the individual feathers to stand out such as on the tail. Next, I used the Dark Smokey Slate to darken the shadows in strategic locations, such as his tail, his breast and wing, giving the bird depth.

Supplies:

Stamps: Toile Christmas Cling Stamp Set (150469)

Dies:  Christmas Cardinal Dies (150640), Christmas Layers Dies (150654), Stitched Rectangle Dies (148551)

  2. Die cut the branch from the Christmas Layers Dies twice in opposite corners on the front of the Mossy Meadow card base.
  3. Adhere the Night Before Christmas Designer Series Paper with snail to the back of the card front allowing the berries to peek through the die cut branches. This also allows the back of the DSP to show on the inside of the card creating visual interest.
  4. Die cut the Old Olive card stock using the third largest Stitched Rectangle Die.
  5. Emboss the Stitched Old Olive piece with the Woodland Embossing Folder.
  6. Stamp the cardinal in Sahara Sand on Whisper White card stock.

  11. Stamp in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink the branches on Whisper White card stock.
  12. Colour the leaves, branches and berries with Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler Light and Dark Blends
  13. Using the branch die from the Christmas Cardinal Dies, die cut the branch out.
  14. Add Shimmery Crystal Effects to the berries on the branch and set aside to dry.
  15. Stamp the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler on Whisper White card stock and die cut it with the matching die from the Christmas Cardinal Dies.
  16. The Stitched Old Olive piece is popped up with dimensionals.
  17. Using snail adhere the branch to the Old Olive piece.
  18. Layer the cardinal on top of the branch making it appear as if he is standing on the branch.

My Winter Reindeer Card

Winter Reindeer Card Using the Snow Globe Scenes Dies
Winter Reindeer Card Using the Snow Globe Scenes Dies

Today I am sharing with you my Winter Reindeer Card that has a unique twist on the Snow Globe Scene Dies. It is using the dies not to create a snow globe, but a vignette of a winter scene. I love the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper and how the Star Designer Elements continue the starry night into the Mossy Meadow Woodlands. This particular card has no stamping involved, but it is very striking with all its copper accents!

Supplies:

Dies:  Snow Globe Scenes Dies (150655), In The Woods Dies (147919)

Paper: Very Vanilla Thick (144237), Night Of Navy (100867), Mossy Meadow (133676), Very Vanilla (101650), Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper (150429), Copper Foil Sheets (142020)

Accessories:  Woodland Embossing Folder (152881), Very Vanilla/Copper Classic Weave Ribbon (150394), Star Designer Elements (150430), Bone Folder (102300), Paper Snips (103579 ), SNAIL Adhesive (104332), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430), Mini Glue Dots (103683)

Measurements:

  • Very Vanilla Thick: 8 ½” x 5 ½”; scored at 4 ¼”
  • Night of Navy: 5 ¼” x 4”
  • Mossy Meadow: 5 1/8” x 3 7/8” and 2” x 2 1/8
  • Copper Foil: 2¼” x 2 9/16” and 4” x ½”
  • Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper: 2¼” x 2 9/16
  • Very Vanilla: 4’ x 1 ½”
  • Very Vanilla/Copper Classic Weave Ribbon: 2 pieces – 4 ½” and 3”

Instructions:

  1. Fold the Very Vanilla Thick card stock in half.
  2. Emboss the Mossy Meadow with the Woodland Embossing Folder.
  3. Die cut the Copper Foil with the dome die from the Snow Globe Scenes Dies.
  4. Take the reindeer die and place in the center of the Copper Foil that you just cut and die cut it out. This is a great trick to save paper.
  5. Die cut the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP with the dome die from the Snow Globe Scenes Dies.
  6. Die cut the Mossy Meadow with the Tree die from the Snow Globe Scenes Dies.
  7. Next, die cut the Very Vanilla with the In The Woods Dies to create a snowbank.
  8. Add the strip of Copper Foil to the base of the Very Vanilla snowbank.
  9. Using snail adhesive, adhere the Night of Navy card stock to the Thick Very Vanilla card base and the Embossed Mossy Meadow to the Night of Navy.
  10. Adhere with snail the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP to the copper foil leaving a small border at the top and sides.
  11. Using glue dots, adhere the Mossy Meadow trees to the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP.
  12. The reindeer is popped up with dimensionals in front of the Mossy Meadow trees.
  13. Attach the scene to the Mossy Meadow with snail adhesive.
  14. Attach the larger Very Vanilla/Copper Classic Weave Ribbon to the snowbank wrapping around the back and securing with snail adhesive.
  15. Tie the smaller Very Vanilla/Copper Classic Weave Ribbon in a knot to the larger ribbon on the left side of the snowbank. Trim the tails.
  16. Add the Very Vanilla snowbank with dimensionals overlapping the winter scene to make it look like the reindeer is walking through snow.
  17. Add three Star Designer Elements.

My Cute Wooden Ornaments using Snowman Season Photopolymer Stamp Set and the beautiful Nature's Beauty Cling Stamp Set.
My Cute Wooden Ornaments using the Snowman Season and the Nature’s Beauty Stamp Sets.

Today I am sharing with you my cute wooden ornaments that I made using the Snowman Season Photopolymer Stamp Set and the beautiful Nature’s Beauty Cling Stamp Set. I coloured these for a presentation on how to use Blends that I did recently. It’s amazing what you can colour with your Blends besides paper! I have seen Gold Metallic-Edge Ribbon, Silver Metallic-Edge Ribbon, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Pearl Basic Jewels, Tags & Feathers Elements even china plates! Wouldn’t that be a great idea to make your own Christmas plates! The ornaments would be perfect to give as a Christmas gift or even to dress up a present. The process is a very simple one and you get a wow effect!

Measurements:

  • Large Ornament:  3”
  • Small Ornament: 2 ½“
  • Very Vanilla/Copper Classic Weave Ribbon: 12”
  • Jute Twine: 10”

Instructions:

  1. Stamp the image in Memento Black Ink.
  2. Using the Blends colour your images. Note: they do tend to bleed more on the wood. So, be careful to stop before you touch the edges of image. If you do go outside the lines, the Color Lifter works well.
  3. Once you are finished colouring your ornament, thread your twine through a hole that you made and tie into a knot.
  4. Tie the Very Vanilla/Copper Classic Weave Ribbon into a bow on top of the ornament.
