Life is A Beautiful Journey Card using the World of Good Suite

Today I am sharing My Life Is A Beautiful Journey Card that I created for a swap that uses products from the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue and the World of Good Suite. This card is a perfect masculine card especially for a retirement or a graduation!

I love how the pops of Misty Moonlight ink and the World of Good Designer Series Paper add a nice touch of colour to this very neutral card. I used Gold Foil Sheets instead of the Brass Foil Sheets only because they were on backorder at the time. The Brass ones would look just as nice! I wanted to add a bit of an old paper look by sponging Crumb Cake around the sentiment’s edges and on the DSP after it was embossed with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder. I was so happy to find out that the Metallic Pearls had carried over and I used them as the perfect accent to finish the card.

Instructions for My Life Is A Beautiful Journey Card:

Fold the Whisper White Thick card stock in half to create the card base.
Stamp the compass image in Early Espresso randomly on the Early Espresso card stock
Die cut the border die from the World Map Dies on the right side of the Early Espresso card stock
Die cut the piece of the World of Good Designer Series Paper that looks like old paper with the largest Stitched Oval Die
Emboss the stitched oval with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder
Sponge Crumb Cake Ink over the embossed oval and around the edges to make it look older
Stamp the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad on the Whisper White card stock and die cut it with the appropriate Painted Label Die
Sponge Crumb Cake Ink around the edges of the sentiment piece to make it look older
Using Adhesive Sheets, adhere the Gold Foil Sheet to it and then die cut the world from the World Map Dies
Die cut the 2020–2022 In Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper using the circle from the World Map Dies
Peel off the Adhesive Sheets and adhere the world to this circle
Die cut the Basic Black card stock with the pedestal from the World Map Dies
Using glue dots, adhere the globe to the pedestal
Using Stampin’ Seal, adhere the Gold Foil strip to the card base
Adhere the World of Good Designer Series Paper to the card base with Stampin’ Seal allowing the Gold Foil to show
Adhere the Early Espresso piece to the card base with Stampin’ Seal
Using Stampin’ Seal, adhere the Stitched Oval to the card base on the lower right
Using dimensionals, adhere the sentiment, globe and feather
Randomly add 3 Metallic Pearls

Amazing how beautiful and packed full of coordinating products the WORLD OF GOOD SUITE in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog is. The Beautiful World cling stamp set has globe imagery and sentiments that have to do with adventure. The sentiments are designed to work on the outside and the inside of your card project. The World Map dies cut out the imagery from the stamp set. The World of Good Specialty DSP has a 16th Century map style feel with gold foiling. The star maps on the DSP represent both Northern and Southern Hemispheres. Get the perfect weathered looking paper with the Old World Paper 3D embossing folder. Using this embossing folder will make it faster and easier to get an aged look on your paper, without the unwanted tearing.

My Congratulations Card

Today I am sharing a Congratulations Card that I created for a swap that used products from the new Annual Catalogue. This card with its sentiment would be perfect for all those recent graduates! I love the new Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set, especially the large sunflower!

For the sunflower, I used three markers, Mango Melody Light and Dark and Calypso Coral Light, for the petals. By adding a third colour, it creates more dimension and texture to what you are colouring. I used the Calypso Coral in the darkest of shadows that are indicated by the artist drawn lines. For the flower centre, I use Soft Suede Light and Dark, but for the Dark Suede, I dotted the marker to create texture that the artist has indicated with their dots. Let’s get started!

Instructions for Congratulations Card:

Fold the Whisper White Thick card stock in half to create the card base.
Emboss the Pear Pizzazz card stock with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
Stamp the large sunflower image from the bundle in the bottom-centre of the Whisper White piece.
Colour the sunflower using the Blends using the technique that I mentioned in the text above.
Die cut the sunflower out using the largest die from the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.
Stamp the sentiment in Pear Pizzazz on the other piece of Whisper White and punch it out using the Story Label Punch.
Die cut the square Soft Suede Card Stock with the outline of the sunflower die from the Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle.
Die cut 2 leaves in vellum from the same bundle.
Adhere the embossed Pear Pizzazz piece to the card base.
Adhere the Soft Suede strip to the Flowers For Every Season Designer Series Paper and centre on the card base.
Wrap the Linen Thread around the Stitched Nested piece and tie in a bow on the right side.
Using glue dots, adhere the leaves to the bottom right corner of the Stitched Nested piece.
Using glue dots, adhere the Soft Suede sunflower piece to the Stitched Nested piece.
Attach the sunflower piece using dimensionals to the card base.
Attached the sentiment using dimensionals.
Take one Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets and add it to a petal of the sunflower to make it look like dew.

All Things Wedding Package

Today I am sharing my All Things Wedding Package that I gave to one of my Carding Ladies who just got married. She asked me for a Thank you Card Kit that she could put together. This Package used something new, the Ornate Thanks Bundle from the new 2020/21 Annual Catalogue, something old, the retired Foral Boutique Designer Series Paper, and something blue, Night of Navy card stock. As soon as I saw her dress, I knew that I wanted to use the retired Floral Boutique Suite. So, I based my design on her gorgeous wedding dress.

In addition to the Thank You Card Kit, I included a wedding card from me that used that suite and tied it with some pretty White Glitter Ribbon.

I packaged it all up in a tin from the Bird Ballad Laser Cut Cards and Tin and tied it all together with the same White Glitter Ribbon. You can never have too much glitter!

Instructions:

Fold the Night Of Navy card stock in half to create the card base.
Stamp the sentiment on the Whisper White card stock in Night of Navy.
Die cut the sentiment out with the stitched die from the Ornate Layers Dies.
Die cut the Night of Navy card stock with the die that frames the sentiment piece.
Using the second largest piece of Whisper White, die cut it with the scallop frame that will layer the Night of Navy piece.
Adhere the DSP to the Night of Navy card base with SNAIL.
Wrap the Silver Metallic-Edge Ribbon around each end of the scalloped piece and adhere with SNAIL to the card base.
Using SNAIL, adhere the sentiment to the Night of Navy frame.
Attached the Night of Navy frame with dimensionals centered on the scalloped piece.
Add three Rhinestones to the card.

Paris Sketch Challenge Card

Today I am sharing my Paris Sketch Challenge Card. My Demonstrator Group has been giving us Sketch Challenges each week that we can join in during this difficult time to keep us busy and to explore our creative side.

I decided to use the Parisian Beauty Bundle for this sketch challenge as a last hurrah since it is retiring. I’m very sad to see this set go, but it will be added to my stash for future projects. I had so much fun with this sketch that you get two cards for the price of one, as well as a bonus one that I will share next week. For these two cards that I am highlighting today, I just switched the coloured card stock. The Pool Party card was the one that I decided to use for my swap.

Here is the second card using a Petal Pink base and Pool Party scalloped frame and different ink colours.

Fold the Whisper White Thick card stock in half to create the card base.
Die cut the Whisper White piece with the second largest square from the Stitched Shapes Dies.
Stamp the Sentiment from the Parisian Beauty Cling Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad on the stitched Whisper White piece.
Using the single blossom from the Forever Blossoms Cling Stamp Set, stamp it in Petal Pink.
Stamp the Fleur De Lys border in Pool Party at the top and bottom.
Die cut the Petal Pink card stock with the fourth largest scalloped square from the Layering Squares Dies.
Emboss the Pool Part card stock with the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder.
Die cut the Eiffel Tower from the Champagne Foil Sheets.
Attached with Multipurpose Liquid Glue the Parisian Blossoms Specialty Designer Series Paper to the embossed Pool Party piece at an angle.
Turn over the Pool Party piece and trim the corners from the DSP with Paper Snips.
Attach the Pool Party piece to the Whisper White card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Using Glue Dots, attached the Eiffel Tower on the left side.
Adhere the sentiment piece to the scalloped Petal Pink piece with SNAIL.
Using dimensionals add the sentiment piece to the card.
Scatter three Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels on the card.

Paris in Springtime

When I went to OnStage in November, I received the Parisian Beauty Cling Stamp Set for Prize Patrol. I couldn’t wait to play with it! So, I made my Paris in Springtime card for a swap. I love Paris any time of year, but Paris is the Springtime is magical. The inspiration for this card is this postcard (© Phenicia / Fabrice Moireau) that I bought on one of my trips to Paris.

For this card, I wanted to create a window of leaves with the Eiffel Tower poking through like on my postcard. I accomplished this by using the Stitched Nested Labels Dies and the branch from the Sweet Silhouettes Dies. I stamped the Eiffel Tower in Smoky Slate on Watercolor Paper. By squishing my closed Pool Party ink pad, I created a pool of ink in the lid to use for my wash of sky. I love how I mixed the sentiments from the Parisian Beauty Cling Stamp Set and the die cut from the Sweet Silhouettes Dies. A couple of rhinestones and Baker’s Twine are added for embellishments.

This card would be perfect for Valentine’s Day, an anniversary or even a retirement card! The softness of this card definitely reminds me of Paris in the Springtime!

Instructions:

Fold the Smoky Slate card stock in half to create the card base.
Stamp randomly the postal stamp and script from the Parisian Beauty Stamp Set in Smoky Slate on the Petal Pink piece.
Centre the second largest Stitched Nested Labels Die on the Petal Pink piece. Die cut it out.
Stamp the Eiffel Tower in Smoky Slate from the Parisian Beauty Stamp Set on the Watercolor Paper.
Using the same Stitched Nested Labels Die, die cut it out.
Squish the Pool Party Ink Pad lid while closed to create a pool of ink to use for water colouring the sky with the aqua painter.
Rub the Embossing Buddy on the Pear Pizzazz card stock. Stamp the sentiment in Versamark.
Sprinkle White Embossing Powder over the sentiment and heat set with the heat gun. Cut the sentiment apart.
Die cut the Smoky Slate with the “adventure” die from the Sweet Silhouettes Dies.
Die cut the branch from the Sweet Silhouettes Dies in Pear Pizzazz and trim it into pieces to fit in the “window”.
Wrap the Baker’s Twine 3 time around the right side of frame and tie in a bow.
Use dimensionals to pop up the Petal Pink frame on the Smokey Slate card base.
Adhere the watercolor paper with Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the Smokey Slate card base by positioning it through the Stitched Nested “window”.
Using glue dots, adhere the cut branches to the underside of the Pink Petal frame positioning them so the they frame the Eiffel Tower.
Adhere the Pear Pizzazz sentiments with snail on the left side and mini dimensionals on the right side.
Adhere “adventure” with Multipurpose Liquid Glue being careful to only cover the part that will be laid on the Petal Pink frame.
Add a couple of rhinestones.

Yuletide Cheer Card

I was asked to provide a recipe for my Yuletide Cheer Card from my Christmas Card Clinic. So, I thought I would share it here. It uses the Frosted Foliage Bundle with the beautiful snowflake filigree frame in Silver Glimmer Paper. The Silvery Shimmer Delicata Metallic Ink Pad adds a subtle shimmer to the card base and the sentiment. The delicate images and warm sentiment will light up the season for those you love.

Supplies:

Bundle: Frosted Foliage Bundle (153029)

Inks: Night Of Navy Classic Stampin’ Pad (147110), Silvery Shimmer Delicata Metallic Ink Pad

Paper: Night Of Navy (100867), Vellum (101856), Silver Glimmer Paper (146960), Whisper White (100730)

Accessories: Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon (150446), Bone Folder (102300), Paper Snips (103579 ), SNAIL Adhesive (104332), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430), Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755), Mini Glue Dots (103683)

Measurements:

Night Of Navy: 8 ½” x 5 ½”; scored at 4 ¼”
Vellum: 5 ¼” x 4”
Silver Glimmer Paper: 4 ¼” x 5”
Whisper White: 2 pieces – 2 ¾” x 3” and 5 ¼” x 4” (for inside)
Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon: 3”

Instructions:

Fold the Night Of Navy card stock in half to create the card base
Stamp randomly the berries from the Frosted Foliage Cling Stamp Set in Silvery Shimmer Delicata Metallic Ink Pad on the front of the Night of Navy card base. Set aside to dry.
Stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy on the smaller piece of Whisper White.
Next, stamp the berries twice from the Frosted Foliage Cling Stamp Set in Silvery Shimmer Delicata on the sentiment piece so that they overlap the sentiment. Set aside to dry.
Die cut the Silver Glimmer Paper with the snowflake frame from the Frosted Frames Dies.
Die cut the sentiment with the stitched square from the Frosted Frames Dies.
Adhere the vellum to the Night of Navy card base with snail by adding it to the middle of the card base so that the sentiment piece will cover the snail.
Add the Silver Glimmer Paper frame to the sentiment with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Using glue dots, fold the Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon in half and adhere to bottom corner of the sentiment piece. Trim the ribbon with Paper Snips.
Using dimensionals, adhere the sentiment piece to the vellum.
Adhere the larger piece of Whisper White card stock to the inside of card.

I have been a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator since 2012. Welcome to my little corner of the world where I like to create! I have always loved art and to make crafty things ever since I was a small child. In fact, my mom could leave me colouring for hours at my little table and chairs in the kitchen while she cooked. Nothing has changed…other than a larger table and chair. ☺️ I put on classes in my home where you can learn techniques, rubber stamping and buy Stampin’ Up! products.
