Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing My Rustic Christmas Deer Card using the free Sale-a-Bration Peaceful Prints Designer Series Paper and the matching Peaceful Deer Bundle. I can’t believe that today is the last day of Sale-a-Bration! You only have until tonight to get free products for every $60 you spend! Don’t miss out!
For my card, it is all about this wintery DSP and I knew that I wanted to create a rustic Christmas card with the Buffalo checked deer and those gorgeous snowflakes on the Rea lRed background! I love that the deer on the DSP can be punched out using the Deer Builder Punch! I embossed the Basic White square with the snowflakes embossing folder from the Wintry 3D Embossing Folders to set off my deer. To add a bit of unexpected colour, I used the die cut trees from the Cabin Dies and stamped the sentiment on Garden Green Card Stock. To tie in the black from the deer, I used a black mat and card base. The Matte Black Dots were perfect embellishment for my rustic card!

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! The Canadian Thanksgiving is less than two weeks away. So, I am sharing my Happy Thanksgiving Slimline Card as my Design Team Card for Conie Fong Art & Design using the new release Pumpkin Gnome. He comes with 6 images including the sentiment Sending Pumpkin Wishes.
Details of My Card
For my card, I coloured with my Copic Markers my sweet Gnome in Autumnal colours. To match these colours, I pulled out my Stampin’ Up! inks, fine blending brushes and the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Falling Leaves Stencil to create my Fall background.
The die cut wooden fence was the perfect backdrop for my sentiment. I added a flag with Doodlebug paper that tied in my gnome’s pumpkin. A die cut leaf and a couple of embellishments added balance to that corner. The finishing touch was a scattering of rhinestone in matching colours.

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here sharing My Steampunk Anniversary Card using Goth Dad and Goth Mom by Paper Nest Dolls for my Design Team Inspiration Card. In fact, I loved these cuties so much, that I created another card last year using the whole family. I will leave a link at the end of this post to that card.
I gave this fun card to my Hubby for our wedding anniversary this year. He loves anything steampunk and the Addams Family. So, I decided to add a steampunk vibe to my card with gears, a chain, a monocle, the Word Band, and my monochromatic colour scheme.
My Card Details
For my card, I decided that I wanted to colour the two images in black and white just like in the old TV series, but with a pop of red for the rose. I carried that colour scheme over with my paper choices and embellishments. The My Mind’s Eye paper was so perfect that I decided to make my card 6” x 6” and only cut off 1/8” for the card base. I lightly sponged Brushed Iron wax to my die cut corner gears to give them added dimension and placed them underneath Goth Dad. To mirror them, I place Cherry Cobbler die cut roses on the opposite corner underneath Goth Mom. A black doily helps to set off my focal point of the coloured stamps from the background.
Close Up of My Design Team Card
For embellishments, I used a Tim Holtz Monocle and Word Band that mirror the Brushed Iron Wax in colour. I picked up the Ball Bead Chain from my local hardware store. The Cherry Cobbler Ribbon and Red Rhinestone, tie in my pop of red colour.
My Envelope Details
Since I went with a 6” x 6” card, I need to create a custom envelope and my Envelope Punch Board came to the rescue.
Outside of My Envelope for My Card
I used some retired Stampin’ Up Designer Series Paper that carried the monochrome theme over from the card. I used a sponge dauber to dab Cherry Cobbler Ink to the roses on the paper to tie in my pops of red. Some black lace fiber blend tied my envelope together with a seal and gold heart sticker holding the ends together.
Inside of My Envelope with My Design Team Card
For my tag, I used the gear tag die with the Brushed Iron Wax on the front of it and a piece of the rose paper.
Front of Gear Tag with Rose
On the back of the tag, I used a piece of Graphic 45 paper that had the words “Mon Amour”. Gomez and Morticia are always speaking endearments in different languages to each other. So, I thought this would tie in my theme.
Back of My Gear Tag
Finally, the last thing I created was for the inside of my card. I took all the endearments that they said in the show and created a graphic with them.

Welcome Fall! Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I was honoured to have been asked to present my colouring using Stampin’ Blends at a playdate this past weekend for fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrators. So, I thought I would share my card and first YouTube video with you on the First Day of Fall. For My Welcome Fall Card, I used the Right Behind You Stamp Set and a ton of Stampin’ Blends including the Color Lifter which I used a lot in this video!
I mentioned another video and notes in my presentation. I have included those notes and several videos from that presentation at the end of this post for your reference.
Pencil Sketch of Scene
For my card, I stamp multiple times the girls riding the bicycle in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on my Stamparatus to get a good coverage of ink on their pants. Next, I lightly drew in as a guide a simple scene with a sidewalk, a tree, some hills, and clouds. Once I did that, I started my colouring. Here is my very first YouTube video so that you can follow along:

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Otter-ly Love Anniversary Card using From The Otter Side by Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps. Today is our 27th Wedding Anniversary and this is one of the cards that I gave my Hubby.
Aren’t these two otters just the cutest with their heart shaped tummies! My Hubby loves otters. In fact, there is a YouTube channel that he loves to watch that is all about two otters, Kotaro and Hana, and the antics that they get up to living in an apartment in Japan!
For my card, I decided that I wanted to create a fun “watery” scene for my two otters. So, I pulled from my stash some Designer Series Paper that had fish and waves on it and die cut it into a heart. I embossed the Detailed Dots onto the Pacific Point background to represent water bubble. I love the detail of the Memory Box wave die! In fact, I loved it so much that I made two layers with one being in Vellum! I couldn’t resist having one of the cute otters holding a wooden heart! How perfect for an anniversary card! The fun puny sentiment “To my Otter Half” was white embossed on a strip of Pacific Point with a couple of heart embellishments. A couple more wooden hearts and some water droplets on the waves all add to my anniversary/watery scene!
Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Pumkin’ Spice Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls using the new release Fall Emma. I love this time of year with the cooler weather and the turning of the leaves!
Details of My Card
I coloured Emma with my Copic Markers in Autumnal colours with rich oranges and greens. I love her little latte cup and, of course, it needed to be a Pumkin’ Spiced Latte. Not pumpkin, but pumkin’ since that is the way I say it! Lol!
For my card, I had perfect Fall paper for it which even came with tags that matched my theme! I decided to layer a die cut pumpkin and a faux wooden leaf tag behind the pumpkin spice tag. I threaded the twine from the leaf tag through the other tag to tie it all together.
Don’t you just love the latte cup peeking out from behind the central image! I used the matching paper to die cut it out and added an orange heart for pumkin spice like in the coloured stamp. I layered behind the central image a “wooden” fence that was die cut out of paper that looked like wood. A die cut leaf and a couple of Pumpkin Pie rhinestones tie in my Fall theme.

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing My Pansy Hello Card using the Pansy Petals Suite which includes the Pansy Patch Stamp Set, Pansy Dies, Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper and Bumblebee Trinkets by Stampin’ Up! Don’t you just love the details of that layered 3D pansy!
Close Up of the 3D Pansy Die
For my card, I knew that I wanted to use the Basic Border Dies with the beautiful DSP! So, I created an envelope liner look that allowed me to wrap the Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon around it. I pulled my colours from the DSP to create my gorgeous pansy. There are so many different colour combinations that you can create with the dies. There is even a die that can cut out some of the pansies in the DSP. I embossed the sentiment in white on a strip of Bumblebee card stock that I had left over from another project. I always save them just in case I can use them. What do you do with these scraps? The finishing touch was the sweet Bumblebee Trinket!

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing Sofi’s Happy Birthday Card as my Design Team Card for Conie Fong Art & Design. My card is using the sweet Feeling Fabulous. I gave this card to a good friend whose 50thbirthday was yesterday. She is my Stampin’ Up! Guru, but loves to colour too! Happy Birthday Sofi!
Details of My Card
For my card, I pulled the colours from the paper that I used for my Copic combinations. There are small bits of blue here and there on the paper, so I decided to make that my main colour for her dress to make her pop from the background. For the roses, I coloured them and added Star Dust Stickles to give them some “glistening dew” on the edges.
I love the Rose & Brick Border Die from Paper Roses! It is so delicate and detailed! I had just bought it in anticipation of creating my card. Placing the paper behind it and popping up the main panel with dimensionals really sets it off nicely. To balance the coloured stamp and border die, I added a couple of flags in complimentary colours to the top left-hand corner. I thought it would make the sentiment stand out by having it fly horizontally to the other flags. A couple of blue rhinestones and a yellow paper flowers tie in my colour scheme.

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing My Penguin Wonderland Card using the Penguin Place Bundle which includes the Penguin Place Stamp Set and the Penguin Builder Punch by Stampin’ Up! Isn’t this penguin just the cutest!
For my card, I decided that I wanted to use the punch to create my penguin rather than stamp and punch him out. This allowed me to use Basic Black to make him pop off the card. However, I did stamp his eyes and beak from the stamp set. I also knew that I wanted to use the Giving Gifts Dies in relation to the snowflakes on the Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper. This paper is gorgeous with its specialty silver foil!
Since the Giving Gifts Dies create a fun peek-through effect only and are to be use in correlation to other dies, I used the Stitched Rectangles Dies with them to create my winter wonderland. I used the Snowy White Velvet Sheets to add a soft wintery texture to my card. Here is a tip if you need to make the same card multiple times such as for Christmas cards. Position the dies how you want them to cut and then use washi tape to keep them that position.
Tip for Die Cutting Multiple Times
To continue my wintery wonderland, I stamped snowflakes in Balmy Blue on opposite corners of the Balmy Blue mat. The DSP was cut using the Stitched Rectangles Dies as well. To tie in the silvery accents on the DSP, I die cut a single snowflake from the Silver Foil Specialty Pack using the snowflake in the Giving Gifts Dies. The finishing touch was three Subtle Shimmer Sequins placed on the snowflakes from the Giving Gifts Dies.
Supplies:
Stamps/Bundles/Dies: Penguin Place Bundle (156789), Stitched Rectangles Dies (151820), Giving Gifts Dies (156563)
Inks: Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad (132708), Balmy Blue Classic Stampin’ Pad (147105), Pumpkin Pie (147086)

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Evil Queen Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls using the new release Evil Queen digital stamp. She is also available as a rubber stamp here. She just makes the cutest Halloween card!
For my stamp, I coloured the Evil Queen with my Copic Markers. I made her sleeves one shade lighter since I noticed in the Disney Show White movie that they are lighter. I then “painted” the Glow Drops onto her apple where the green is showing. Love that when you turn out the lights the poison glows! Next, I added some highlights with my White Gelly Roll Pen on the crown and jewels which I followed up with Glossy accents to make them shiny.
Video of The Nuvo Glow Drops in Action
For my card, I had these cool overlay acetates leftover from Halloween last year and thought having the poison paper show through it was a neat effect! Plus, the picture frame with the skeleton reminded me of her Magic Mirror! The spider web doily was in my stash, and I thought it was perfect way to frame her! The swirling rhinestones remind me of a magic spell being cast, but I wanted them red not clear. Easy enough to colour them with my R37 Copic Marker. To carry on the glowing theme, I added some dots with my Nuvo Glow Drops amongst the red rhinestones and on the web.

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing my Lazy Days of Summer Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls using the digital stampSurfer Emma. When you buy her, you get 2 digital stamps for the price of 1! Surfer Emma with and without sunglasses.
I can’t believe that summer is almost over! Emma and I are going to miss those lazy days of summer sunshine!
For my card, I had fun colouring Emma with my Copic markers. I created a summer vignette for my cutie with the surfer van and a palm tree sticker poking out from the circle. The surfer van was a svg file that I downloaded and cut out on my Silhouette Cameo machine. The svg file comes as a box card, but I only wanted the van. Easy enough to separate the file into the pieces that I needed. It was so fun creating the van to match my coloured image with the hot pink. Who wouldn’t love to drive a hot pink surfer van!
Since it’s a beach card, of course, I needed water, sand, and sun! So, my paper was perfect for two of those elements! The sun and sunshine die cuts completed the other element. I love the sentiment “The lazy days of summer” which sum up my card perfectly and matches the purple colour of her bathing suit!

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing My Great Escape Card using the Counting Sheep Stamp Set and matching Sheep Dies by Stampin’ Up! You can get both for free with a qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration. I am a big fan of Shaun the Sheep and love watching all the antic that he gets up to with the other sheep at the farm! The ewe on the right reminds me of him as she orchestrates a breakout from the farmer’s field. Lol!

My Colouring Techniques
For my card, I used several techniques to colour my sheep so that they looked fluffy. I stamped the sheep in Smokey Slate Classic Ink on Basic White card stock. This allowed me to colour with the no-line technique which created a softer finished image without the harsh black lines with Memento Ink. Once the colouring was finished, the lines would fade in with the dots.
The second techniques I used was dots for their wool. I used the Dark Smokey Slate Stampin’ Blend in the shadows. So, along the edges where the stamped Smokey Slate ink was, where the artist indicated fluffiness in the wool and anywhere I thought a shadow would show up.
Next, I used the Light Smokey Slate Stampin’ Blend to add to the shadow areas and extend my dots further into the image from the shadows. I added a few random dots to break up the white areas in the centre of the wool.
Finally, I used my Stampin’ Blends Color Lifter and lightly brushed over all the dots to soften them a little bit. For the face and legs, I used the Smooth colouring technique. For more information on these techniques and others, I have included links on how to use your Stampin’ Blends at the end of this post.

The Details of my Card
I decided that I needed a slimline card to fit my scene so that I could include all three sheep in the great escape. Since the Basic Border Dies that I used were not long enough for a slimline card, I had to create layers to fill my scene. With lots of dimensionals, I was able to create a hilly pastureland with a cloud filled sky. For my pastureland I used two different card stocks, Pear Pizzaz and Old Olive, to add dimension to my scene. I added an 8 ½” strip of Old Olive at the base of my card on top of all the hills to hide all the uneven pieces. The In Good Taste DSP was perfect for my wooden fences.

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I can’t believe that Summer is almost over! So, in the hopes of making the summer last a little bit longer, I am sharing My Summer Dreams Card as my Design Team Card for Conie Fong Art & Design. My card is using the sweetSummer Dreams. This image would be perfect for so many occasions like Birthday, Mother’s Day, Thinking of You, Wedding to name just a few!
Details of My Card
For my card, I coloured this sweet image with my Copic markers to match the beautiful Botanical Tea paper by Graphic 45. I had a lot of fun colouring all those waves and curls in her hair and look at those pleats! Omgoodness! Such colouring fun!
I have been wanting for a while to use the Stitched Greenery Dies by Stampin’ Up! and thought that they would make a perfect subtle mat for my focal point. I die cut the Botanical Tea paper and my coloured image with the Labels Seventeen in two consecutive layering dies. I used my Blending Brush to add some Vintage Photo ink to the edges of all my paper and die cuts. Next, I turn the larger one on its side and punched two holes in it at one end and threaded ribbon through the holes for an unexpected touch.
To add to the botanical theme, I added a leaf trinket so that it looks like it is attached to the ribbon. I found a paper flower that matched my colouring perfectly. To add some matching blue embellishments, I coloured rhinestones with my B34 Copic markers and scattered them here and there.
Hello Crafty Friends! I am excited to share My Twisty Thank You Card that I made using the beautiful Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper by Stampin’ Up! I made a similar card at a retreat and thought that it would be a perfect way to showcase this gorgeous DSP while providing an interactive fun fold!
Don’t you just love that when you open the card you get the first set of sentiments and then you keep opening and the sentiments flip to see the other side of them. When the card is fully open, you get all three sentiments displayed.
My Twisty Thank You Card in Action
The Details of My Card
For my card, I used the Hand-Penned Petals Bundle which includes the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set and the matching Penned Flowers Dies by Stampin’ Up! Since I needed 3 sentiments that went together, I used the Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set as well. I have included my Twisty Card Template that you can download at the end of this post.
The Front of My Card
I stamped the colours of Highland Heather, Mint Macaron, Daffodil Delight and Blushing Bride for my flowers which matched the DSP and die cut them out with the matching dies. The Daffodil Delight piece of DSP helped to give a pop of colour to draw the eyes to the stamped flowers. I die cut the tag from the DSP as well. Love the Tailor Made Tags! They are so versatile! For my ribbon, I wanted it to match the colours of my card. So, I used my Dark Highland Heather Stampin’ Blend to colour the ribbon. This is a great way to add matching accents to your card!

I found that the DSP is quite busy. So, to make my focal point stand out, I added a Basic White scallop cut piece underneath it to help ground it. A couple of Highland Heather pearls and a Mint Macaron Genial Gem tie in the colours of my card.

Inside of My Card
For the inside of my card, I added two of the neutral simple patterns to the inside folds and then attached the sentiment. I made sure that as you flip it, the sentiments made sense: “For a true friend” “You are an inspiration” Thank you for your kindness”. I added some DSP to the back of the sentiment pieces since you see the backs as they flip. Tip: adhere top and bottom sentiment pieces and then the middle to get even placement between the pieces.

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I was honoured to have been asked to present this card and my colouring for it at the Rebels and Wizards Online Event for Paper Nest Dolls that was this past weekend. My Mandalorian Card is using Rebel Hero and the new release Rebel Baby by Paper Nest Dolls and the Magic Iris Dies by Lawn Fawn. I have included a PDF with step by step instructions on how to build the Magic Iris at the end of this post.
I just love Baby Yoda in the Mandalorian TV series. He is soooo cute! I even have a Baby Yoda stuffy that gets into all kinds of mischief. Lol! So, when I saw the new Rebel Baby digital stamp, I just had to make a card with him! My card was inspired by the last episode of season two where Luke comes to rescue Baby Yoda and his friends. I coloured Luke in dark clothes with a green light saver (or life saver as my Baby Yoda calls it! Lol!) as he appeared in this episode. The Rebel Baby is hidden behind the “door” and is revealed by the Magic Iris mechanism when the Jedi Hero opens it.

Don’t you just love the digital paper that I used with the Mandalorian helmets and the original Star Wars logo! They were perfect for my card and were free from HaleGrafix. I sponged some Black Soot to the edges of it to give my card a gritty feel. I couple of star embellishments was all this card needed to finish it off.
