My Happy Easter Tag

My Happy Easter Tag - An Easter tag with a girl holding an Easter egg she [ainted
My Happy Easter Tag

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! Who’s ready for Easter? There is always time for one last Easter tag! So, I am sharing My Happy Easter Tag as my Design Team Inspiration for Paper Nest Dolls using Egg Coloring Lulu

The Details of My Happy Easter Tag

I coloured this cutie with my Copic markers in Easter colours to match my Easter paper and card stock.

For my tag, I decided to use several Easter dies including a pink Easter Egg and the reverse Happy Easter words. I also added a purple floral border behind Lulu to make her pop and give some visual interest behind her. I used paper snips to trim the edges of the border piece to fit my round corners of my tag.

Next, I went with a Polka Dot Tulle ribbon since it reminded me of Easter tulle. The Happy Easter ribbon in purple was a perfect colour for the theme of my card! I used some Bermuda Bay Baker’s Twine to tie this all together.

Finally, to add some sparkle, I used Star Dust Stickles on Lulu’s heart on her smock and Wink of Stella on her egg. As well, a scattering of Glossy Dots that matched my colour scheme were placed around the sentiment.

My Easter Egg Hunt Card

Easter Egg Hunt Card - and Easter card with a girl collecting Easter eggs
My Easter Egg Hunt Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! Easter is just around the corner. So, I am sharing My Easter Egg Hunt Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls using Lulu with Easter Basket

The Details of My Easter Egg Hunt Card

I coloured this cutie with my Copic markers in Easter colours to match my Easter paper. I just love these soft colours!

For my card, I decided to use the gorgeous Tulip Dies as a backdrop for Lulu. I just bought these dies and was eager to use them! So, I went with white card stock and a soft pink that has some texture on it so as not to detract from Lulu. The sentiment “Easter Egg Hunt” was from the Welcome Easter Paper Pad and perfect for my theme.

To decorate my card, I added die cut Easter eggs that matched the colours of Lulu’s eggs in her basket. Next, I added several Brass Butterflies floating from the focal point.

Finally, to add some sparkle, I used Wink of Stella on Lulu’s eggs, hair bow and basket bow.

My Birthday Celebration Card

My Birthday Celebration Card - Birthday card celebrating a winter birthday with a girl
My Birthday Celebration Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Birthday Celebration Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Conie Fong Art & Design using the sweet Winter Wendy. It was my birthday a while back and I decided to colour this cutie and make a card to celebrate it!

The Details of My Birthday Celebration Card

Since I used this stamp for my birthday card, I decided to colour Wendy to look like me when I had long hair. So, I pulled out my Copic markers and gave her brown hair and eyes. I picked the colours for her clothes from my paper choice. The pink was a bit tricky to colour, but I discovered by adding E04 to the RVs, it allowed the shadows of the pinks to match my paper.

For my card, I decided to create a mini slimline to match the shape of the large snowflake die. I thought it would be fun having her pop out of this die cut snowflake opening with its matching snowy paper. I added a few die cut Pool Party snowflakes to bring out the blue/green in my colouring.

The sentiment “Celebrating You Today” summed up my birthday theme perfectly! It was stamped in black and die cut with the matching flag die.

To add sparkle, I coloured rhinestones with my Copic markers to match my colour choice. I also used Star Dust Stickles on the Pool Party snowflakes and on her pompom.

My Favorite Song Card

My Favorite Song Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Favorite Song Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls using Decade Collection Roller Skating Ellie. There are ten dolls in the Decade Collection that come in both rubber and digital stamps. You can find all the digital versions here.

Decade Doll Collection by Paper Nest Dolls

The Details of My Favorite Song Card

I had coloured this stamp with my Copic markers a while back…in fact, since I liked her so much, I coloured her twice at the time! Lol! So, I decided to finally get this one onto a card especially since I bought the perfect Walkman dies by My Favorite Things!

For my card, I thought that the Walkman would make a fun shaker. So, I built my Walkman using the dies and even added four layers to the red foam ear pieces to give them some dimension! I used a Window Sheet for where my shaker sequins would go. Once that was built, I added Foam Adhesive Strips between the top and the cassette paper to enclose my sequins. I thought that the cassette paper was a great backing for my Walkman! The skates and disco ball paper behind my focal point was perfect for my theme!

The sentiment was from a retired Stampin’ Up! Stamp Set, but you could easily type this out on your computer and printing it. It was stamped in black ink and die cut out using the Stitched Rectangles.

To add some sparkle to the card, I used Stickles on Ellie’s pompoms on her skates. For the musical notes, I used holographic paper to give them an iridescent look! Very hip for the 80’s. Lol! The final touch was adding Glossy Accents to her Walkman case.

My Kitty Love Card

My Kitty Love Card - a Valentine Card with a cat beside a mailbox filled with letters
My Kitty Love Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Kitty Love Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls using the New Release Kitty Love with the Snow Globe Bundle!

The Details of My Kitty Love Card

For my card, I decided to combine the Snow Globe Bundle with the Kitty Love stamp since the kitty fits so perfectly in the snow globe! I used Microsoft Word to size and insert the kitty into the globe. In addition, I used Word to add Happy Valentine’s Day to the plaque on the base.

I haven’t coloured a snow globe before and wanted to challenge myself. So, I used the 3.0 Mini Class Bundle from Kit and Clowder as a reference and used my Copic markers to colour the image. It was a lot of fun getting the shine on the glass! Once it was coloured, I added Glossy Accents to the plaque on the globe base and Stickles to all the hearts.

I decided to use the French Kiss Doodlebug Paper since it had hearts, envelopes, and happy mail on it. Perfect for my card! To ground the snow globe, I used a solid piece of red paper that was already embossed with hearts to add to my Valentine theme.

Next, I added some die cut hearts in opposite corners for balance. A die cut glassine envelope with die cut hearts inside and an adhesive-backed heart to seal it was added to mirror the letters in the mailbox.

For embellishments, I used a piece of white lace trim and white resin hearts.

My Lavender Fields Card

My Lavender Fields Card - A birthday card with a landscape scene
My Lavender Fields Card

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing my Lavender Fields Card using the Hills of Tuscany Stamp Set by Stampin’ Up! It was my birthday recently and I always create a card for myself!

The Details of My Lavender Fields Card

So, for my birthday card, I decided to create one that reminded me of our trip to Provence in France with the beautiful lavender fields. When I saw the Hills of Tuscany Stamp Set, I realized I could change the colours of the hills and voilà, Provence! Plus, the Painted Lavender Dies and Perennial Lavender 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper were perfect for my lavender fields card!

First, I stamped the largest field in Highland Heather followed by Gorgeous Grape to add interest and have it look like lavender. Next, I stamped a Shaded Spruce hill where I planned to place the house and trees. For the house, I used Crumb Cake for the walls and Copper Clay for the roof since we saw houses with those colours in France. Cypress trees, like the ones on the stamp, were also found all over Provence. So, I stamped them in Shaded Spruce to match the grasses. Finally, I stamped in Balmy Blue the sky twice to fill the space.

Next, using the Deckled Rectangles Dies, I die cut my scene and a Gorgeous Grape matt. For my card, I decided to frame my Provencal scene using the largest Radiating Stitches Dies in Crumb Cake almost like a picture hanging on a wall. Lol!

To complete my Provencal theme, I die cut a bouquet of lavender from Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape which was tied with Linen Thread and layered it on a DSP circle die cut from the Radiating Stitches Dies. The sentiment from the Something Fancy Stamp Set was stamped in Gorgeous Grape and die cut out using a Something Fancy Die. I layered two strips of DSP on the left side of the Basic White card base to balance the sentiment cluster.

The finishing touch was a scattering of Purple Fine Shimmer Gems that match my colour scheme.

My Happy 2024 Calendars

Happy 2024 Calendars - two handmade calendars. One with a bee on it and one with a bird.
My Happy 2024 Calendars

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing My Happy 2024 Calendars using the Bee My Valentine Bundle and the Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper by Stampin’ Up! I didn’t get done my Christmas cards this year due to catching Covid. So instead, I decided to send out calendars to some of my customers in the new year.

The Details of My Happy 2024 Calendars

For my calendars, I decided to create two different calendars with the same design but using different products. I couldn’t resist using the beautiful Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper which is a Sale-a-bration freebie if you spend $60.00 CDN on qualifying orders. And don’t you just love those cute bees from the Bee My Valentine Bundle!

Five Bee Calendars
Bee Calendars

Since I planned to mail these out, the Sending Dies was perfect way to send “smiles across the miles”! To add some interest to the Pool Party and Soft Sea Foam card stocks behind my focal point, I did some tone-on-tone stamping. For the Pool Party one, I stamped a couple of times the bee trail in Pool Party. For the Soft Sea Foam, I stamped the leaves from the Softly Sophisticated Bundle twice in Soft Sea Foam. This bundle is also free with a $120 CDN on qualifying orders during Sale-a-bration.

Five Bird Calendars
Bird Calendars

The bee was stamped and punched out with the matching builder punch. The birds were fussy cut from the Flight & Airy DSP. I used different birds for each calendar since there was such a selection from which to choose.

Two of the Bird Calendars

Next, I used the Adhesive-Backed Hearts & Flowers and Adhesive-Backed Dragonflies & Birds for embellishments. I also used a pearl for the “i” in “Sending”.

The final thing was to use the technique where you press the ink pad lid when closed to get some ink. I did this with the Pool Party ink pad and picked it up with my Wink of Stella. This gave the bee wings a nice sparkle!

My Cup of Cheer Card

My Cup of Cheer Card - Christmas card with a girl holding a mug of hot chocolate
My Cup of Cheer Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Cup of Cheer Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls using the digital stamp called Emma in Reindeer PJ’s

The Details of My Cup of Cheer Card

I had so much fun colouring Emma in her cute PJs with my Copic markers to match my non-traditional paper choice! For my card, I thought the Christmas cookie paper would be perfect since cookies and hot chocolate are a great combination, especially gingerbread! Yum! The pretty plaid pattern paper really brought out the non-traditional colours of my card.

Isn’t that die cut mug just the cutest! For the mug, I knew I wanted to use the snowflake tag and found that the die just fit it. To add some dimension to my mug, I blended some Pool Party ink along the edges. I also blended some Pink Pirouette Ink along the edges of the heart. I thought it would be fun to add whipped cream and a candy cane just like Emma’s. The spoon was die cut from some metallic paper that I had. Of course, if you have hot chocolate, you need marshmallows! Lol!

Since there was a lot going on the card already, I went with a simple die cut sentiment with a few red rhinestones to match my candy cane.

Finally, I used Glossy Accents on Emma’s candy cane, Stardust Stickles on the reindeers’ noses and Wink of Stella on Emma’s and the mug’s whipped cream.

Celebrate the Season Card

Celebrate the Season Card - Christmas card with a girl wearing a snowman sweater and holding a candy cane
Celebrate the Season Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing my Celebrate the Season Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls using the digital stamp called Emma in Christmas Sweater

Details of My Celebrate the Season Card

For my card, I decided to create a mini slimline card using the Pink Fresh scallop die. What is so nice about this die is that it cuts two scallop rectangles at once. I used both scallop rectangles with one in pink and one in red to match my colour scheme.

I love Mintay Papers, and the Merry Little Christmas paper is gorgeous! So, I decided to use it for my colour scheme of red and pink with white accents. I coloured Emma with my Copic markers to match my colour scheme. Don’t you just love her snowman sweater! In fact, I have coloured this stamp before. I will include a link at the end of this post to the other card that I made using her.

For the sentiment cluster, I used a silver snowflake to add some sparkle, a fussy cut candy cane from the Mintay paper and a die cut sentiment.

Next, I used Glossy Accents on the candy cane and Stardust Stickles on the trim of the hats and boots. The only thing left was to add a few red rhinestones for a bit more sparkle.

The Details of My Merry Christmas Elves Card

For my card, I decided to go with traditional colours and use my favourites red and green Copic markers for these cuties. Once they were coloured, I went with an 8 ½” x 4” slimline card to fit my colouring.

I also decided that I wanted to create a rustic look to match my papers. So, I blended Vintage Photo ink along the edges of my coloured piece to make them look worn.

The Simple Stories paper matched my Copic colours perfectly! Since my card was so long, I used a 12” x 12” paper for the base and the smaller 6” x 6” pad for accent pieces. These accent pieces were die cut ticket stubs that I repurposed to create some interest in the background papers. I cut two of them using the Simple Stories paper and two Real Red ones that I used as a border. I placed these accents on either side of my colouring.

Next, I added some holly flourishes along the edges of my coloured piece. The “Merry” “& Bright” sentiments were stamped in Mossy Meadow and Real Red to match my colour scheme and cut out with my paper snips. They were layered onto a wooden star for that rustic feel with a Real Red stitched circle. The “25” was a tag from the Santa Claus Lane Frames & Tags which I layered another stitched circle underneath.

To add some sparkle, I used Star Dust Stickles on the white trim of their outfits and Clear Wink of Stella on the ribbons of the presents. Glossy Accents was added to the candy cane to give it a shine. A scattering of red rhinestones was added to match my colour scheme and for even more sparkle.

Birthday Shopping Card

Birthday Shopping Card - a birthday card with a street scene of an art supply store.
Birthday Shopping Card

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing my Birthday Shopping Card using the Les Shoppes Suite Collection by Stampin’ Up! It’s a friend’s birthday this week and she is very artistic. So, I thought a birthday card shopping for art supplies would be perfect for her!

The Details of My Birthday Shopping Card

For my card, I decided to create a shopping scene. So, I fussy cut with my paper snips the building with the art supplies, but you could use any of the buildings in the Designer Series Paper. Next, I stamped the awning stamp randomly on the Calypso Coral card base in Calypso Coral for a slight tone-on-tone. The Basic White piece was die cut by the 3rd largest Deckled Rectangles Dies and embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder to add some interest.

Since I was creating a street scene, I thought the die cut lamppost and bench would be fun accents beside the shop. A strip of the cobbled DSP created the perfect grounding for my scene.

The sentiment was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in white on Misty Moonlight card stock and then die cut out.

The finishing touch was a scattering of Loose Silver Sequins that are included in the Collection.

My Pumpkin Patch Card

My Pumpkin Patch Card - an autumn card with a little girl in a witch costume picking out a pumpkin
My Pumpkin Patch Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Pumpkin Patch Card using the new release Pumpkin Emily by Conie Fong Art & Design as my Design Team Inspiration Card. Doesn’t she make the most perfect autumnal card, but she could also be used for Halloween or Thanksgiving!

The Details of My Pumpkin Patch Card

For my card, I decided to create an autumnal card with fall like colours with a pumpkin patch theme since she is picking out her pumpkin. I had so much fun colouring Pumpkin Emily with my Copic Markers in oranges, blue/greens and blacks to match my paper. Once she was coloured, I added Clear Wink of Stella to the ribbon on her hat. For the cat, I decided to make it a tabby cat, but it could also be a black cat for Halloween. I used my black 0.3 Copic multi liner to add the stripes after I had coloured it with my Copic markers.

Next, I die cut her out with a 4” stitched circle die and placed a number of die cut leaves and a pumpkin in one corner to match my theme. The “Hello Pumpkin” sentiment was a sticker that came in the Carta Bella Welcome Fall Kit. In the other corner, I used another sticker of a Pumpkin Patch sign. Perfect for my Pumpkin Patch theme! The leaves falling around her were also from the same sticker set.

Finally, the finishing touch was a scattering of Enamel Dots that matched my colour scheme.

Halloween Is Here Card

Halloween Is Here Card -Halloween Card with a Witch with a broomstick in front of a haunted house
Halloween Is Here Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing my Halloween Is Here Card using the new release Broomstick Emily Witch by Conie Fong Art & Design as my Design Team Inspiration Card. This purchase includes 4 stamps:

The Details of My Halloween Is Here Card

I had so much fun colouring Broomstick Emily Witch with my Copic Markers in Halloween colours! Once she was coloured, I added Gold Gelly Roll to her boot buckles and Clear Wink of Stella to all the green trim pieces on her hat and top.

Next, I decided to create a mini slimline card since I wanted to use my new Haunted House Coverplate by Photo Play and thought it would be a perfect backdrop for Broomstick Emily Witch. I added some Crushed Curry behind the windows to make them glow eerily.

I decided that the haunted house needed a big full moon. So, I die cut the moon die and brushed Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink along the edges to give it dimension. Of course, if you have a haunted house, you need a sparkly bat flying around.

For the sky, I went with some spooky green skulls paper to match my colouring. The other piece of DSP I used was a border along the left side to balance out Emily and to add some unexpected colour. This border was a perfect anchor for my black sparkly “EEK” sentiment.

Finally, the finishing touch was a scattering of sprinkles that matched my colour scheme.

The Perfect Day Card

The Perfect Day Card - A wedding card with bride and groom kissing
The Perfect Day Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing The Perfect Day Card using the digital stamp After the Vows by Tiddly Inks Stamps. This past weekend we attended a wedding, and this was the card I made for the happy couple to celebrate their love!

The Details of My Card

The digital stamp comes with the couple in full length, but I thought a close-up of the couple kissing would be a lovely focal point. So, I coloured the couple with my Copic markers in tones befitting my couple. The bride has gorgeous flowing locks of hair, and this stamp was perfect to represent her! I added a light coating of white pencil over the veil to differentiate where the veil was on her hair. Unfortunately, it is hard to see in the photo. Finally, I added Clear Wink of Stella to the bride’s veil to give it shimmer. For the groom, I coloured the skin and hair to look like the groom’s Pilipino heritage. This was the first time colouring this skin tone and I was quite happy with how it turned out!

For my card, I decided to create lots of pretty layers with the lace ribbon, heart doily and die cut hearts. The beautiful Craft O’Clock paper was the perfect backdrop with lace, flowing script, worn wood planks and flowers on it!

The sentiment was stamped in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with silver embossing powder to match the sparkly rhinestones and then die cut out. The die cut “love” sentiment was the epitome of what brought these two together to be married.

Finally, I couldn’t resist adding one more heart in the form of the sliver heart charm under the sentiment.

Field of Daisies Birthday Card

Field of Daisies Birthday Card - a birthday card that has daisies on it
Field of Daisies Birthday Card

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing my Field of Daisies Birthday Card using the Fresh As a Daisy Suite by Stampin’ Up! This Suite includes the Cheerful Daisies Stamp Set, the Cheerful Daisies Dies, Fresh As a Daisy 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper and Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems.

The Details of My Card

My card was for a swap, and I decided to use the Fresh As a Daisy Suite for it. I love how the big daisy die is one piece making it easy to cut out a garden of happy daisies in seconds!

Once I die cut the daisies from Basic White cardstock, I used my sponge daubers to dab some Lemon Lolly in their centres to give them depth. I also dabbed some Pecan Pie to the edges of the Lemon Lolly piece on which I used the Timeworn Type Embossing Folder.

Next, to add to my focal point, I added a stitched circle of the DSP behind my daisies, almost like a blue sky in a field of dasies. From this, I added the sentiment stamped in Garden Green and some Garden Green die cut greenery.

To tie in my colour scheme, I added a piece of DSP between my focal point and the Lemon Lolly piece.

The only embellishments that I used were the Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems that came in the Suite.

Supplies:

Stamps/Bundles/Dies: Fresh As a Daisy Suite (161301), Stylish Shaped Dies (159183)

Inks: Garden Green (147089), Lemon Lolly (161666), Pecan Pie (161665)

Paper: Thick Basic White (159229), Boho Blue (161724), Lemon Lolly (161720), Basic White (159276), Garden Green (102584), Fresh As a Daisy 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (in Suite)

Accessories: Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder (156505), Sponge Daubers (133773), Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems (in Suite), Bone Folder (102300), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430), Stampin’ Seal (152813), Mini Glue Dots (103683)
