Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Love Potion No. 9 Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls using Love Potion Avery from theLove Potion Set. This Set includes 3 stamps which are Love Potion Amara, Love Potion Avery, and the Love Potion.
The Details of My Card
For my card, I decided to create a fun faux shaker card. I have been wanting to make one for a while and thought this would a perfect card for it! My card is super easy and fast to make!
For those of you who don’t know what a faux shaker card is, I used a clear envelope over my project. I then added my shaker bits to the bag and sealed it. Easy peasy!
I love the Valentine Doodlebug paper that I used for the backdrop of my card. The sentiment piece was also from the Doodlebug paper pad, and I just framed it with my colour scheme.
Since I added sequins and hearts as my shaker pieces, I decided to go simple with the other embellishments. I added layered die cut hearts to one corner of the sentiment with a heart gem on top.
The Love Potion Set comes with the Love Potion by itself. So, I coloured it like the one Avery is holding and added it to another corner of the sentiment.
The finishing touch was Glossy Accents to her glasses and beaker and Stickles to the hearts in the potions.

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here to share my Birthday…Happy Birthday Card using Secret Agent by Kindred Stamps! My Hubby is a big fan of the James Bond movies and when I saw this stamp set, I knew it would be hit for his birthday card!
The Kindred Stamps Design Team had several inspirational cards that inspired me to create my own version of a file folder with the Magic Iris. I knew that I wanted to use both elements on my card.
The Details of My Card
I had a lot of fun creating my file folder and it had to be a certain size to fit the Magic Iris. So, it is a little wider than a regular A2 card base since the folder tab sticks out. The File Folder Edgelit Dies by Stampin’ Up! are retired, but I have made a file folder with my Envelope Punch Board in the past as well. There is also a file folder in the Specimens Edgelit Dies, but I needed a larger one to fit the iris.
Close Up of Sentiment on Card
For the front of the folder, I decided to make it look like it’s been through the wars with blood running down the front (just like the opening of the movies! Lol!), blood splatter, mysterious footprints, and a few spy paraphernalia items! I even had the blood run onto the sentiment piece. The “Confidential” and “Top Secret” stamps come with the set and were perfect for my theme! To make it even more rough, I blended some Vintage Photo Ink on the edges of the folder and the sentiment.
Inside My Card
Inside of Card
Amanda Stevens, a Design Team Member for Kindred Stamps, created a file folder PDF that you can download for both birthday and Father’s Day. Here is the link to her YouTube channel that lists the files. I used the birthday mission part for the inside of my card. Love that you can customize it to suit your needs! I added My Hubby’s birthday date and his “also known as” (aka) handle “Sweetie” to the file. Lol! The piece of washi tape was his secret agent’s name that had been “redacted”! The stamp set even comes with a martini glass and I couldn’t resist using it! Again, I distressed the brief with ink and add some blood splatters before gluing it at the top and adding some metallic dots like the brief was clipped to the folder.
Close Up of Birthday Brief
For the other side, I decided to use the Magic Iris to mimic the opening of the movies when Bond enters. I embossed in black the Spiral Dye Stamp Set onto the black cardstock from which I die cut the front of the Iris. The part that wasn’t used for the iris, I glued down to continue the spiral on the page. I had die cut the “Filed” tab and had planned to add it to the front of the folder, but in the end, I placed it under the Iris to give the black a bit of colour.
Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! I am sharing My Pop & Twist Halloween Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls. I was honoured to have been asked to present my colouring and a project this past weekend for the Paper Nest Dolls’ Not So Spooky Magical Weekend! So, I created a tag for the event, but I had so much fun that I created a card using the stamps from the retreat and based it on my tag with a twist!
The Details of My Card
For my card, I decided to create a Pop & Twist card. I love how when you open the card, the stamps on the inside fold out and pop up!
My Card in Action
The front of the card was based on the tag that I presented with a few tweaks to fit the card size.
My Tag from the Paper Nest Dolls’ Not So Spooky Magical Weekend
The inside was where all the magic happened as you open the card! When I saw these cute critters, I knew I wanted to create a twist and pop card!
I used very little decorations on the inside since I wanted the card to fold as flat as possible, but I couldn’t resist some glittery bats and Halloween words.

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here to share my Congrats Grad Wiper Card. This fun interactive card is perfect way to celebrate a special grad on his/her special day!
The Details of My Card
This card is super easy to make since I used a Wiper Card Kit by Photo Play. All the guess work for how to make a wiper card was done for me. I just had to decorate my card.
The Celebrate! Paper Pad by Simple Stories was perfect with such sentiments as “Hip Hip Hooray” and “Yay, yay, yay” and “Way to go” on it. It’s supposed to be for birthdays, but I thought all those sentiments suited a grad!
Close Up of Year in Broadway Lights
Once I added my paper, it was time to decorate my card. I thought it would be neat to have the year on the front in Crushed Curry like it was lite up on Broadway! To decorate the Broadway sign, I used several stickers that matched my grad theme. But the fun part is when you pull the card open, the “Congrats Grad” sentiment with a sparkly Grad cap pops up! Just like when the grads throw their caps!

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing A Toast for Your Birthday! using the Lots of Pun Paper Pumpkin Past Kit. I had so much fun playing with this Paper Pumpkin Kit! I made some alternative cards (see at end of post for photos) when it was first released in January, but I had some leftover bits and decided to make a fun fold card. The only things I added was some card stock, adhesive and a toast sentiment! Everything else is from the kit.
Video of Pop & Twist Card in Action
This card is for a 12-year-old boy whose birthday is today! Every year I create an interactive card for him. Last year I created a card with the Give a Whirl Dies and in the past years, I created a Never-Ending Card, a Slider card, a wobble card and so on. He always says that I make the best cards EVER! Got to love that!
Details of My Pop & Twist Card
For my card, I decided to create a Pop & Twist card. I love how when you open the card, the images on the inside fold out and pop up!
The front of the card is one of the designs from the kit. I just cut it to fit a portrait card. I added a couple of stamped party hats from the stamp set that is included in the kit. A mat of Granny Apple Green was added behind the focal point.
Close Up of Card Front
The inside is where I got creative! There are four panels and I thought that incorporating each of the die cuts (eggs, cherries, banana, and toast) that came with the kit, would work well!
Pop-Up Inside Card
First Panel
For the first panel, I used an egg theme. I love the pun “have an egg-cellent day” and couldn’t resist using “egg-cited for you” too! Just too fun! I used one of the card bases that I cut down with a Granny Apple green mat to fit my panel.
First Panel of Pop-Up Inside of Card
Second Panel
The next panel had the theme of cherries. So, I used the inside of one of the envelopes for the background pattern. I thought the red dots went perfectly with those sweet cherries! This is one of the things I love about the kits! The envelopes are printed both on the outside and the inside. So, once you cut them open, you can reverse the coordinating patterns to suit your design.
Second Panel on Pop-Up Inside Card
Third Panel
For the third panel the theme was the banana. Again, I used the inside of an envelope for the background. The speech bubbles are so fun!
Third Panel on Pop-Up Inside Card
Fourth Panel
For the last panel, the theme was the toast. I didn’t have an appropriate sentiment. So, I printed one off on my computer to suit the birthday theme. I used the inside of an envelope once again for my background piece. Aren’t the glasses on the toast fun!
Fourth Panel on Pop-Up Inside Card
I added a scattering of the Enamel stickers that came with the kits on all the panels.

Hello Crafty Friends! Laurie here again! I am sharing my Flowering Fields Birthday Wishes Card using the Flowering Fields Stamp Set and the Windmill Fields Dies by Stampin’ Up!
The Details of My Card
For my card, I thought it would be fun to create a Centre-Step Card, so it looks like the windmill is popping out of the tulip fields. Of course, if you have a windmill, wouldn’t it be fun to make it interactive! So, I added one of the round brads through the blades and into the windmill base.
Tip – to keep the brad from showing from behind the windmill on the card, folded down the arms at angle.
Position of Brads on Back of Windmill
The windmill was popped up with dimensionals to allow the back of the brad to have room.
I love the beautiful Flowering Fields DSP and used it for the grass/sky piece behind the windmill and the tulip fields! I pulled the colours from the DSP for my sentiment and for the ribbon. A couple of the sweet butterflies balanced out the ribbon on the sentiment.
Supplies:
Stamps/Bundles/Dies: Flowering Tulips Stamp Set (157672), Windmill Fields Dies (157683)
Inks: Highland Heather Classic Stampin’ Pad (147103)

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here to share my Neighbourly Birthday Wish For You using the Prehistoric Family Limited Edition Box by Kindred Stamps! It’s my brother’s birthday today and we grew up on The Flintstones! So, I thought a fun slider card for his birthday would be right up his alley!
The Details of My Card
For my card, I decided to create a full scene, but to fit all my characters, I went with a slimline card. Once I coloured my characters, I built my prehistoric card. So, much fun! There is a great video on the Kindred Stamps website on how to do this. I found that my card was a bit top heavy, and the awning kept getting caught. So, I add 3 strategical placed washers underneath the wheels. Voila! Fixed!
Of course, if you have a car, you need a road! So, I used the stencil that came with the kit, a blender brush and ink to create my road. Then, I die cut the Gray Granite with the Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle since I wanted the stitching to frame my whole scene. Once that was done, I created my mechanism using the Heffy Doodle Pull Tab Dies and hid it behind the road. The clouds DSP was also die cut with the stitched rectangle to finish the frame of my scene. Once my scene was created, I added my characters finishing my prehistoric family!
Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Laurie here! Today I am sharing My Perfectly Wicked Interactive Card as my Design Team Inspiration Card for Paper Nest Dolls using the Evil Fairy.
I was honoured to have been asked to present at the Paper Nest Dolls’ Party with the Villains Virtual Weekend Retreat that was this past weekend. I had so much fun creating my cards for the event that I made an extra one that I thought I would share with you today. The other cards that I presented at the Retreat will be posted at the end of this post.
To get in the mood and for inspiration, I just had to watch the movies both the live action and the cartoon! Any excuse to watch Disney is a good excuse in my books! Lol!
Video of my Card in Action
Movie of My Perfectly Wicked Interactive Card
For this card, I coloured the Evil Fairy with my Copic Markers to match the Disney cartoon. I have been wanting to use the Give a Whirl Dies from Stampin’ Up! and thought it would be perfect for my card! It is so fun to spin that little dial and see all the fun sentiments! These sentiments… “Perfectly Wicked!” and “Bad Girls Have More Fun!” …were created in Word. I added one of the digital papers behind them to blend in with the paper that I used on my card base. Since the Evil Fairy turns into a dragon at the end of the movie, I couldn’t resist adding a bright green dragon with a dusting of Black Soot on its edges. A castle and a few stars that were brushed with the Aged Brass were the only other elements that I added to my card.
Hello Crafty Friends! I am excited to share My Twisty Thank You Card that I made using the beautiful Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper by Stampin’ Up! I made a similar card at a retreat and thought that it would be a perfect way to showcase this gorgeous DSP while providing an interactive fun fold!
Don’t you just love that when you open the card you get the first set of sentiments and then you keep opening and the sentiments flip to see the other side of them. When the card is fully open, you get all three sentiments displayed.
My Twisty Thank You Card in Action
The Details of My Card
For my card, I used the Hand-Penned Petals Bundle which includes the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set and the matching Penned Flowers Dies by Stampin’ Up! Since I needed 3 sentiments that went together, I used the Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set as well. I have included my Twisty Card Template that you can download at the end of this post.
The Front of My Card
I stamped the colours of Highland Heather, Mint Macaron, Daffodil Delight and Blushing Bride for my flowers which matched the DSP and die cut them out with the matching dies. The Daffodil Delight piece of DSP helped to give a pop of colour to draw the eyes to the stamped flowers. I die cut the tag from the DSP as well. Love the Tailor Made Tags! They are so versatile! For my ribbon, I wanted it to match the colours of my card. So, I used my Dark Highland Heather Stampin’ Blend to colour the ribbon. This is a great way to add matching accents to your card!
Tip for Colouring Ribbon with Stampin’ Blends
I found that the DSP is quite busy. So, to make my focal point stand out, I added a Basic White scallop cut piece underneath it to help ground it. A couple of Highland Heather pearls and a Mint Macaron Genial Gem tie in the colours of my card.
Close Up of the Front of My Twisty Thank You Card
Inside of My Card
For the inside of my card, I added two of the neutral simple patterns to the inside folds and then attached the sentiment. I made sure that as you flip it, the sentiments made sense: “For a true friend” “You are an inspiration” Thank you for your kindness”. I added some DSP to the back of the sentiment pieces since you see the backs as they flip. Tip: adhere top and bottom sentiment pieces and then the middle to get even placement between the pieces.
